  1. Would probably base it off the team's press, high press use a Pressing Forward, mid block use a an AF. Not a huge amount of difference between the two roles really
  2. Do like a WTM, very underused role The way I see I DLFs are, there are two types. The Targetman type, the physical tall, stronger players who play with their back to goal, hold up defenders and lay it off to others, then turn and get forward. The other is the more skilful and technical type who can run on the ball and can pick out others. Both are lethal and if I'm looking for one, I try and get a combination of both. To get them scoring, it's the same as the other striker roles, they're less of a spearhead role than say an Advanced Forward or Poacher who look more to get on the end of chances, DLF's will involve themselves more in the build up so I like another attacking role with them from either out wide or deep. The DLF will still get on the end of chances like any other striker role Here's some good reading from @Cleon about striker roles from a few years back that still holds up today
  3. As you'd expect really, your players will defend in a low block, then when in possession and they lose the ball, they'll Counter Press Yeah, the transition could be seconds then the players will reposition themselves as per the TIs, so if your opponent's play out of the Counter Press, your players will then set themselves back into position
  4. That last game you posted could be a down to a number of different things. Just looking at the XG, you two shots you gave up average in at 0.15 XG, I'm happy with my average XG per shot being 0.10 and the opponent's less so you've given up two chances I wouldn't be happy happy with Even discounting the penalty, your XG for the game was decent enough They were likely pushing for the equaliser late in the game, probably used all their subs, I don't know what your reaction was but most likely the AI were trying to level things up being just a goal down so late on Could be any number of things or just one of those games in football. If it's frequent thing, it might be time to look at your tactic and players
  5. Great stuff!! There's quite a few I'm enjoying this year, I really like the wide AP on Attack, it's like an IF but with some extra style and license. I'm actually enjoying Wingbacks more this year now that DMs are all the rage, just let them fly up the flanks and stretch teams. The good ol' DLF is a lot of fun to watch in action, versatile and combines well with different roles. Pressing Forward is still a stable, I did a season with a Pressing Forward on Defend last year, that role's great fun too see in action and play around with
  6. Ah, with you now, I thought you meant it was an OP role or something
  7. Post a bug report if you think something's off @shaunwwfc, I've seen you mention problems with passing a few times now but can't see anything for it on the tracker
  8. Poacher all day for me, just get him in the box banging goals
  9. I wouldn't stress it too much @The3points, replicating real football is not easy and open to interpretation for a number of reasons. Mainly, FM doesn't replicate real football 100%, it's impossible and football managers are constantly tweaking and analyzing thing as the game's going on, much more than what we do so it's very difficult to 100% nail it
  10. Thanks for that @Cleon that some great reading At the end of the day, the role's a DM, he'll sit between the centre backs and midfield, I see it like a more luxurious DLP
  11. How so? The role's just a risky and more direct passer from deep that roams so good for picking out players further up the pitch like you say, I don't see why it's win more thing
  12. 100% agree with this Roles themselves have instructions on wether the role will move infield or look to stay wide A team with maximum width plus two Wingbacks will generally be wider than a team with maximum width with two Full Backs, the same at any width setting Wingbacks the widest, IWBs the narrowest, FBs somewhere inbetween. I feel Fullbacks are often overlooked, as they tuck infield and move wide as they see fit providing a bit of both plus they don't have so many PI's hardcorded so you can do a far bit with them. Then you can factor in the footedness on top and you can create some really interesting play with the humble role
  13. Yeah, I think I'd feel more comfortable using a Regista in a DM pairing with a partner that holds his position a bit more, just a Regista and Anchor or DM(D) should cover it, then build your other roles around that As the DM in a midfield 3 could be interesting, are you still using it @Bird_SA? I would go simple roles as your 8's, just a BWM and a CM or something to help secure the midfield and cover for the Regista, let him and the False9 create for the wide attackers. I would certainly use an IF or IW on Attack on the flanks over the Raumdeauter but that's a different story
  14. Oh sorry, the Tactics and Training board Tactics, Training & Strategies Discussion - Sports Interactive Community (sigames.com)
  15. I'd at least change one or both IWs to Support, no need for both of them to be Attack. Looks for Underlaps seems a bit of a pointless instruction too as your WBs will overlap your IWs. Focus play through the middle may not be needed either, your DLP should naturally attract the ball to start the build up of attacks and your team will naturally look to your wide areas. Looks a very nice base
  16. I think @herne79has you covered tactically but the sole defensive minded midfielder you have is a BWM who will willingly leave his defensive position to chase down opposition players and he's only 50% familiar with playing such a role so he could easily make the wrong call and expose your defence
  17. Any chance we could get an English translation please @Mik_Fe
  18. Jumping Reach but many different attributes come into play in 1v1 headers and they're not always 50/50
  19. I would fully expect that to be honest Both are interesting roles, if using one of them, I like to pair them up with a more solid and defensive role A DM/Anchor and a Regista or A DM/DLP and a Volante for example
  20. I think with your first Tactic, overall it looks good and it's well thought out, I'd still change a couple of things: - The CM and DM duties, I know you had it this way before, but it looks really disjointed. Two out of 4 midfield diamond have Hold Position. The DLP on D will stay deep and help cover for your left back and I think a BWM on support can help out your wingback. He can help support him and take a defender from him and help support attacking play in general - WBIB is one I'm just never a fan of, it's great for Man Citys and Barcas who can (or could) just walk through defences. If you're struggling for goals, it would be the first thing I would drop. You have wingbacks on the flanks and the Mezalla will be making inroads into that inner right channel, so a good few players who could provide crosses Your 4-1-3-2 again looks great, I'd maybe just use a WB at RB to help the team's width and the Anchor will help cover him
  21. This board works better if you come up with something @steff91 give it a go, then come back here if you hit any problems ETA: Sorry, I see you did come up with something, the forum's playing up this afternoon. Looks good too me, try it out and see how get on
