  1. I take them all, most are good and I agree with him, example "he's the most dangerous player , close down on him", "he's soft, tackle him", "he can break the press and is creative, don't close him down" etc. Never had any issues, I sometimes choose not to mark a specific player and keep the zonal marking, other than that, I'm fine with most of the suggestions.
  2. What's with the "be more expressive"? It's a big no-no for the EPL imo. Also I'd use a cautious mentality for away games. I agree with everything, except the last one, that's a good thing as he has good central defenders surely?
  3. Just an FYI in case you didn't know: the game highlights key and preferable attributes for various roles and you can search for these attributes too in player search. Pro tip: Don't search via highlighting a position, just the attributes you want, if the player doesn't know the position, you can always retrain him there (comes with a penalty , a little loss in his ability supposedly and sometimes they are really bad in learning a new position, but for me this trick is worth it overall, especially if you are a small team - or on the rise and desperately looking for players etc)! Having said that, underrated attributes by people usually are: For keepers, communication and command of area, I mean reflexes and one-on-ones are nice but if you don't even have to sweat, it's even better. From physical attributes, agility and acceleration (especially if you want them to sweep). For defenders, composure, dribbling, first touch, technique and passing is good for them to actually keep the ball, despite not being mentioned for some roles. The best defenders in the game are good offensively too, in addition to the usual defensive capabilities (Decisions - important for all positions , positioning , concentration, marking , tackling , heading and anticipation and of course all physicals). Teamwork is also very useful for all positions and many times underrated too. For midfielders for sure work rate is important, especially for those in central areas. Also stuff like vision and flair can't hurt, they are useful for breaking the press alongside with decisions. For wingers or strikers, aerial and balance are often underrated, stuff like jumping, heading, bravery etc. This however depends on how you play, many times a short forward or winger can be useful too. Those on the top of my head, if someone wants to add something / correct me feel free to do so.
  4. Never under-estimate aggression and determination, they are the two most important attributes.
  5. Which team has (probably) the best scouting network /staff /knowledge at the beginning of the game? I'd like to join them to check something.
  6. Well OTOH, if you can't execute anything well or cover some distance, it doesn't matter how smart you are, does it? I had the talent for the fifth division, and the mind for the Bundesliga. - Jurgen Klopp They are all important really.
  7. Well my most successful years were on heavy schedule, so there's that. I go one year of heavy and one year of technical, so far heavy has been more effective.
  8. I'm Portimonense in the Portuguese league, I cannot obviously get him now, but he was playing for Wolfsberger AC when I had discovered him (at 18), he made a phenomenal progress, he wasn't like that at all (C+ according to good scout, now they are giving me A+, yeah right)! Some players grow a lot in this version, you can't always tell who'll advance which I like a lot. I sincerely hope he has big matches(negative) or breaks his leg or something (not gonna happen, he's soooo getting the CL lol). Oh well, maybe my reputation will lead to me managing Arsenal one day.
  9. Best CB ever in the history of football? I could get this guy from Austria for 5M but thought "he won't progress", I wanna die!
  10. Wbr/wbl marks the wingers and cbs just mark zonally, do you use wing backs?
  11. You are thinking of strong leagues, not everyone plays there, in some leagues the gap in ability between some teams is just way too large.
  12. Oh it happens irl, trust me. Just ignore the agent, it happens also in real life.
  13. Thanks for this, I'm using the following, it looks similar however I have much more conservative roles in defense, we also sit deep, and the players who try to make efforts are the two amcs. Pressing forward on defend is fantastic, it is very important that he does NOT take any efforts in this formation imho, just simple drop deep, give the ball, go back in the line. Amcr and ss have "stay wider" checked so they are playing as half-wingers too and wing-backs are encouraged to cross. I distribute from the keeper to ss, it works rather well.
  14. I would try 5-3-2 or 3-4-3 with cautious mentality. Also a dlp is exactly what a counter attacking formation needs?
  15. That might be true this year. There are a lot of crossbars in real life too though. Get players with better defensive attributes or better defensive coaches. Also that's exactly what good footballers with good movement do irl. Also, you might be playing with too aggressive mentality. Also there's a "drop off more" instruction, if you don't want this make sure it's enabled. I'm pretty sure that "play for set pieces", "cross more" and "cross from byline" fixes this. Not too sure about that, could be high eccentricity combined with poor decisions. Try "be more disciplined" as a team instruction. The game replicates real life, so mistakes happen sometimes. Why does it bother you? Switch to "cautious mentality", "ease off tackles" or just add the trait "does not dive into tackles" if the player is mentally poor. There's literally a whole section in "Data hub"? That's not true, there's an "error factor" from referees in the game which I personally love.
  16. I don't have the achievement either, you would have to get a really good player and fit all fan culture criteria too it seems. I think B+ is what I reached the most.
  17. I like them all, I believe the one with the advanced forward would be better for worse teams to ease the pressure a little bit by having the forward spearhead, all of them could be useful though.
  18. I think I had about close to 40, however a lot of people (me included) play in easy leagues with OP players usually, so I'd guess that's why it's not that rare as it sounds.
  19. I think it's a great tactic and fits the players too, why "drop off more though", if anything it would be the opposite really? However your full backs are not that great defensively and your winger is not fantastic, so a 5-3-2 would probably be a better option, Pedro and Araujo would form a nice partnership up front I'd guess. But if it works as is, don't change it?
  20. That's probably width, set it to a narrower option or you could try "focus passing on the left/right" to give the mentality there a slight boost. Btw he looks perfectly positioned to me
  21. You want him to be off-side? Sometimes attackers do it though, then someone else comes up from deep. I've only seen it in strikers in FM mainly I think. It makes more sense for the central forward to make this run anyway I think, but not sure.
  22. Do you have players with good physicals? Also are they experienced? I believe those two are important.
  23. Hi all, which player would you use as a striker and which as an AML (IF)? Player 1 Player 2
