  1. I have been looking to upgrade my very noisy old pc for a long while. I am thinking of treating myself. I've spent a long time looking and have a couple of questions regarding this one. https://www.box.co.uk/Cube-Legendary-Pro-ICue_4293461.html?config=2336001,2472019,3822760,4103349,4128750 To cut down some costs I removed the Windows 11 option as I can put my own W10 version in, and I've also removed the HDD option as I have some I can use from my current pc. I mainly play FM, in fact I mostly do, and I always push the limits and beyond with the amount of leagues I can activate. I want to run FM graphics on the 'very high' setting. I also own and have dabbled with Elite Dangerous, so something that can handle those graphics well is a bonus. Here's my questions .... What is the difference in the chipsets i7-12700kf, and i7-12700f? F seems to be more energy efficient, but the kf has the appeal of a higher base speed and a higher overclock speed (Max 5ghz) I removed the option to have an HDD included (to drop the price), I have 3 HDD drives (one of these is solely for Windows to sit on). Can I fit 3 hard drives into this rig? I removed the Windows 11 option again to reduce the price, I assume this will run the windows 10 I already own? I have been studying the benchmark thread and this rig should perform well. Is the geforce rtx 3070ti graphics card a bit of overkill (certainly for FM) but also for Elite Dangerous? It certainly throws the price up but I'm trying to plan ahead and future proof the machine so it can stand the test of time with future game releases. (not just for fm). Thanks for your guidance oh wise people!
  2. @decapitated thankyou for all that. I hope our future is brighter than that in real life!! Ferdinand Feldhofer lasted 6 years!! Tell me this.... where did Andrea Pirlo go to in 2043? Despite not winning anything he kept us as a mid table premier league side and stayed for 4 years, and it looks like he may have moved on to better things?? Also (spec question!) , do you know what CPU do you have?
  3. Not enough West Ham in these league tables and honours lists!! How have they fared over the years? Also what pc specs are you running and how well has the game performed as the save file has increased?
  4. I am thinking about upgrading my pc, and thought I would check my current setup here. I'm not sure if I've filled all the required info in correctly. My C benchmark score wasn't as bad as i thoight it was going to be! I actually first thought it had performed really well but then i realised i was looking at the D table LOL. Hopefully my scores will be of use to people on older setups. I did not bother with Benchmark D as it would have taken far too long! Type: Desktop Model: AMD FX-9590 Vishera 8 core processor CPU Model: AMD FX-9590 CPU Base Frequency: 4.0 GHz CPU Turbo Frequency: RAM: 16GB RAM Clockspeed: 1607 MHz GPU: AMD Radeon R9 290X Graphics Level in 3D: High Storage Type: HDD Benchmark A: 02 min 39 Sec Benchmark B: 11 min 50 Sec Benchmark C: 29 min 52 Sec Benchmark D: xx min xx Sec
  5. Does anyone know what the default MB storage size is?
  6. Well that's true, yes. I've never thought of it that way.
  7. However that's not what @Draakonwas saying He contemplated playing a real life FM, only clicking continue when the real life day clicks over. You'd only ever buy one FM in your whole life, or only play 1 season each year! I play 1 game a day usually , or try and fit 1 week into 1 night's play so i can see the appeal of what you have said.
  8. yes, you can place as many files as you like into the editor date file in the Sports Interactive folder in My Documents. Mine is situated in C:\Users\*****\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2022\editor data OR just put them all in that location and select only the nations you want to use when you load up a new save.
  9. What speed do you watch matches at? How long does it take to watch the full match? I have been known to play this way in previous fm's. It can be immersive. I added the more realistic sounds / chants pack that was out at the time and it made the experience so much better.
  10. I have to agree. For the first time ever I have started a save with every single country and league that came with the game. I have every top league and major cup set to full detail. My star rating is 1/2 star. My PC is far from the best but the game runs at a reasonable pace for me. This is with the May update which doesn't boast the superior speed improvements, so it could, in theory, possibly run better using the latest June update.
  11. 18 for me is ideal considering the amount of other matches that need to be squeezed in. I've also actually grown to like the league splits in 12 team leagues, for example Northern Ireland. It makes those last 5 matches far more competitive and meaningful. Better still reduce the amount of country's that qualify for a World Cup. 32 is spot on I wish they weren't going to change it
  12. I think this is an unfair comment. This file is clearly @Wolf_pd's passion, and he has put so much time and effort into it to be releasable. This is an enormous project, and @wolf_pd probably has life priorities that get in the way of doing this. No deadline was ever set as far as I can see, but when it is finished you can play until your heart's content. It doesn't matter if FM23 gets in the way, you can still play this DB. If I was doing this project myself and read a comment like that it would make me not want to release it at all.
  13. I always start in Northern Ireland, but the world is my oyster after that. Tobermore United, in the bottom tier, were the first to offer me a job about 3 months into the season. Bottom of league and wages out of control due to high appearance fees and all non contract players, bar 2 amateurs! So I feel your pain on that front!! Still enjoying it though.
  14. I've been on holiday this week, and with no pc to play fm on, I was on the lookout for a good read to pass the time as I chill in the rugged picturesque surroundings of Donegal overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. I was drawn towards your ultimate fm story as I, myself, am in the infancy of my own version of a worldwide fm universe (although only with all leagues and countries loaded that came with the original game.). This has been a very enjoyable read. Whilst my good lady has been reading an Agatha Christie novel, I've been in Cambodia kicking every ball with EDC! I return home tomorrow and now can't wait to fire up my own save again, and get my team of amateurs to emulate your boys! I completely empathise with trying to keep players on non contracts from leaving. I'm not sure I'll have your patience though. KUTGW
  15. Thankyou very much for your detailed explanations @kevkel.
  16. Fortunately, I'm using an edited NI database where I corrected the league structure for the bottom 2 divisions. https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/564781-northern-ireland-correct-league-structure/
  17. So am I right in saying salary commitments are based on Actual Playing time rather than Agreed playing time? Therefore Salary commitments can fluctauate?
  18. The info @kevkelprovided in the other thread has been of use to me in trying to work out these salary commitments. Whilst I cannot get the figures to work out exactly, other bonuses must be included in working out the salary commitment in the budget. I am not sure if this a bug I just think it could be presented better in the finance section. If anything, this is making me completely rethink how I offer contracts. Before , when playing at this level, I offered a new non-contract to a player to fend off other bidders. I didn't really concern myself too much with playing time promises. I am now going to have to pay particular attention to the agreed playing time as well as the amount of other bonuses given, as this will have a big say in my wage budget. I would be better off having a team of amateur contractors if I could offer them. One of my best players in this team is the only amateur and has no impact on my wage budget, but as soon as I go into negotiate a contract you negate them being an amateur, and they immediately want bonuses. For those looking for skill levels in Football Manager then manage at this level and keep the club afloat! I just don't know how I will keep players to build a team, as they will be off to another club in a heartbeat if a better offer comes in. I suppose youth may have to be the way to go, but then the cycle just continues. Oh the joys of managing in the gutters!!
  19. That is a super interesting topic you raised. Here are some screenshots. Firstly my squad's salary commitments, then Luke Fisher's contract and then his playing time.
