  1. Welcome @Neo_Geo! Happy to see you join me in the Netherlands! Lovely to see the suit match the Dutch colours as well!
  2. XaW - Amsterdamsche FC- Season 2027/28 - Keuken Kampioen Divisie Squad | Transfers | Finances A much improved season. We were close to a playoff spot, but fell just short. At least we are finally showing we have something to offer here, and with a few more seasons under the belt, we might fight for a promotion. KNVB Beker: We beat Cambuur before we lost to Utrecht in the 2nd round. Youth intake: Trophy cabinet N/A
  3. Could only do 2 year extension for some reason, but added the "extension after 15 league matches in the final season" to compensate!
  4. He has already accepted the longest contract I could give him!
  5. XaW - Amsterdamsche FC- Season 2026/27 - Keuken Kampioen Divisie Squad | Transfers | Finances A season with much the same. At least we are nowhere near the relegation zone, but I had hoped for a slightly increased success compared to last season, but we continue. KNVB Beker: We beat Excelsior M before we lost to Vitesse (again!) in the 2nd round. Youth intake: Interestingly, we got 17(!) players in this season, as opposed to the normal 16. So I looked around, and it seems we have poached a player! We suddenly own them 5% of a future fee. So I had a dig around, and it seems we DON'T get an inbox item for when it happens, but we instead get in an extra player in the first possible intake. Not ideal, and I hope SI will fix it, but at least it's possible to see after the player appears. Perhaps worthy of a small note in the OP @darren1983? Anyway, the poached player are quite poor... This kid however is anything but poor. A supertalent! Trophy cabinet N/A
  6. XaW - Amsterdamsche FC- Season 2025/26 - Keuken Kampioen Divisie Squad | Transfers | Finances While this was a disappointing season, we were also really unlucky. By the xG-table, we should be 5th! Just a poor season from so many players. Hopefully the next will be better! KNVB Beker: We beat FC Groningen and Spakenburg before losing to Vitesse in the 3rd round. Youth intake: Trophy cabinet N/A
  7. XaW - Amsterdamsche FC- Season 2024/25 - Keuken Kampioen Divisie Squad | Transfers | Finances An excellent first season in the Netherlands! We hovered around the upper mid-table for the whole season and eventually we secured a playoff spot since just about everyone gets a playoff spot. Unfortunately, we lost to RKC Waalwijk in the 1st round. KNVB Beker: We lost to N.E.C. in the 1st round. Youth intake: Trophy cabinet N/A
  8. After the failure in England (again!) I'm going to give the Netherlands a new shot. So I've taken over Amsterdamsche FC. The club has a decent setup, but needs a bit of work. Here we go!
  9. Well, yes. I use the same tactic I've used for years, and mostly with moderate success, and yes it includes counterpress. It gives me just about what I would expect from my team, often slightly overachieving, but with a poor team we lost a few early on and then just couldn't get moral back on track. It happens, and I'll restart somewhere else. But I can tell you, you can't just press counterpress and win no matter.
  10. Well, then you are better manager than me. I just got the boot after this start to the new season. To be fair, my team was favourites for relegation, but the board thought that was bad enough for me to go...
  11. Well... I got fired from the Folkestone job. We had a horrible start to the new season: The board called me in after the Mansfield match, and gave me a task to pick up some points, and we just couldn't get things to work. I have no idea, since I used the same tactic as last season, and mostly the same players. It just went to hell. I think I might pause the challenge, and try something non-youth only for a while to shake things up...
  12. XaW - Folkestone Invicta- Season 2024/25 - Vanarama National League Squad | Transfers | Finances Well, the VNL is far harder than the regional divisions in the tier below! We got occasionally battered by the bigger teams, but at least we could hold our own against the lower half of the table. The main issue is the defensive side of things as is clear by the number of conceded goals. This was one of our strengths in the past seasons, but now we are having issues, so I think it's mainly down to my players to be honest. So I guess we are at the stand-still of surviving some seasons as we keep improving the players we have and hopefully bring in some new ones. I had a look at the xG table, and from that we should be 12th, so if we had been more clinical in both boxes we would have been much more comfortable than we were. Still, we stayed here, so we go again! I managed to improve the youth facilities slightly this season, and get in some better youth coaching, and at the end of the season we got a great message! FA Cup: We beat Hampton & Richmond and Maidstone United before we lost to Walsall in the 2nd round. FA Trophy: We beat Ebbsfleet United before we lost to Barrow in the 4th round. Youth intake: We are getting in much better players now! I could have picked any of them, but I like the look of this kid. Trophy cabinet N/A
  13. Thinly veiled snarky comments don't really suit you. For what it's worth, I'm not employed by SI, I don't get paid for being here or posting. I'm a fan of the series who have been asked to help out here. I've never been asked or told to walk "the company line" or in any way moderate my own views of the game and the series as a whole. And I have worded issues with the game for many years here. I've reported bugs or other issues, posted suggestions for changes, and given my honest feedback without covering up in any way. I've given clear feedback on everything from the lack of good AI squad building to how I think the Halfback role is too far forward in the final 3rd of the pitch, and given lots of critique when it's deserved. Painting this as a dystopian dictatorship where negative feedback is not allowed is not really fitting. You are certainly free to think whatever you wish, but when the creators have clearly explained that you in fact are wrong, I don't really know what else to tell you. If you see this "every single time", then perhaps it's something you are doing wrong, since that's certainly not the case for me, or seemingly most others. Perhaps a small introspect into your own handling of things, especially towards the end of seasons where there are more big matches and fatigue is at its highest...
  14. XaW - Folkestone Invicta- Season 2023/24 - Vanarama National League South Squad | Transfers | Finances During the off-season we lost our two best players as they wouldn't sign new contracts, so I had expected this season to be a bit tougher than the last one. However, the team proved me wrong by going ahead an winning a lot of matches from the get go. Just as last season we fought at the top of the table all season long, but this time we finished a fair distance behind a very good Maidstone United. It also seemed the top got more competitive this season as Dulwich Hamlet, Ebbsfllet United, and Wealdstone had strong seasons and all finished ahead of us. Still, a 5th place was enough to secure a playoff spot by a fair margin down. In the first round we beat Dorking without much issue, in the semi final however, things got hairy. We went ahead, then Dulwich Hamet scored two times before we equalized late on to make it a draw and eventually it went to pens. My players kept their composure and scored all 4 they took. Dulwich missed two and it put us into the final. There Ebbsfleet United waited for us. The game started quite even, but we went ahead after just over 20 minutes, but they drew it just before half time. Shortly after the break one of their players lost his head and two-footed one of our players and got sent off. From then on we took control, but struggled to score. It took until the 87th minute before we finally scored and then we just controlled the rest to clinch the promotion! Vanarama National here we come! FA Cup: We beat Cheshunt, Poole Town, and Bath City before we got thumped by Cheltenham in the 1st round. FA Trophy: We beat Basildon and Bath City before we lost to Solihull Moors in the 4th round. Youth intake: Well, the improvements seems to show here! A talented Model Citizen? Count me in! Trophy cabinet N/A
  15. I'd love for this to be a part to negotiate in a contract renewal for the manager. "I want a coaching course if you want me to extend my contract" sort of deal...
  16. Do they give any reason? When I managed in Wales they said they feared it would make me too attractive to other clubs. But after a few years, they accepted and then gave me further as well.
  17. XaW - Folkestone Invicta- Season 2022/23 - Vanarama National League South Squad | Transfers | Finances Well, this went far better than expected, even if we failed at the final hurdle! I took over a small squad of 13 players and one of them managed to break his leg and only returned for the final few matches of the season. Still, the rest of the group settled in and we found a very nice tactic with a lot of hoofballing over the top onto our quick striker. Still works wonders in lower leagues, that! So we were actually part of the top of the table, rather than fighting for survival as I had expected. That said, a few of the players in this squad is too good for this level, and I think I'm going to lose them this summer since they refuse to talk contracts. Hell, for one of them Grimsby in the League Two are interested! On to the pitch, we actually had a shot at the top spot going into the final match, but a poor draw away to Kingstonian let Havant & Waterlooville overtake us. If we had beaten Kingstonian, we would have won the league on goal difference! Onto the playoffs. We got Billericay Town in the semi final, and we had a very poor match and lost out. So no promotion for us, and I think we will struggle next season when we lost a few of our best players. Also, the board has started the process of building a new stadium at some point in the future. FA Cup: We beat Basingstoke Town and Chesham United before we lost to Southend in the 4th qualifying round. FA Trophy: We beat Larkhall before we lost to Welling United in the 3rd round. Youth intake: Not the worst intake ever, and we just need any player we can get. Chris Stacey 23a is a very talented defender I'm sure will play quite a lot of matches for us. Trophy cabinet N/A
  18. @Bartrcm - I think your league table link is wrong. It goes to the season preview. Just FYI.
  19. Other than the season summary and awards, I don't think so. I wish it was, being a stat junkie myself! So if you find a way (that is not manually exporting stuff), then please let me know.
  20. I'll move this to the feature requests section, since I think it fits there the best.
  21. Have a look here: https://support.sega.com/hc/en-us/articles/4409224840081
  22. When you have 13 players in your squad and this happens... It looks like a hard journey looking forward to the youth intake!
