  1. XaW - Knattspyrnufélagið Afríkuliðið - Season 2028 - 1. deild Squad | Transfers | Finances After mid-table last season, this was a very promising season for us. I'm very happy we are up into the top tier next season, and I hope we can stay up! Bikarkeppni karla: We beat Akureyrar, Fjölnir, and KÁ before we lost to Valur in the quarter final. Deildabikar: We drew Breiðablik, Fjölnir, Grótta, Víkingur R., and HK. We had a bad showing and finished bottom of our group. Trophy cabinet 3. deild - 1 (2025) 4. deild - Group A - 1 (2023)
  2. XaW - Knattspyrnufélagið Afríkuliðið - Youth intake 2028 Excellent intake with a clear number one! I really don't know how long I can keep him, but I'll try as long as possible! Amazing talent!
  3. Yeah, I think we have said you can holiday for long, as long as the team you select haven't been up into a playable tier in the mean time. So no team that has gone down while holidaying and popped back up. You have to correct me if I'm wrong @darren1983.
  4. Haha! Feel free! I'm still tempted to do one more try there, and I might do it if I get tired of Iceland! I think the two I highlighted are the most northern ones, but I might have missed some. The 6th sub division should contain most of the clubs from the north (and Oslo since it's easier to fly from Oslo to the north than other places). Yeah, that would be brutal, but thought I'd mention it, since it's a bit on the special side!
  5. I had a quick look and that's Henningsvær Stadium, and the only club that plays there are Henningsvær IL. Unfortunately for you they only have youth teams, so they are not even in my 10 tier database... The closest team to me that eligible for this challenge is Follo FK. If you go deeper into the league structure then there are a few teams a bit closer, but only by a few minutes. According to Google Maps, I live 10 minutes by car from the home stadium of Follo FK, and that makes sense for me. I've watched a few matches with them before, but since covid hit everything stopped. And I haven't been to a match since... I had a look at other clubs available in the vanilla database, and the first that came to mind was Lyn. The name means lightning, and they are also a fallen giant. They have won the top flight two times, and the cup 8 times. They were also the club that sold John Obi Mikel to Man Utd, err Chelsea in 2007. They folded in 2010 due to financial reason and was recreated later on. A more difficult one is NTNUI. This is basically a technical university's football team. And they are set top "always amateur", meaning you can never go semi-pro or pro... You also have Finnsnes, a team located quite far north. The same goes for Skjervøy. Other than that I don't see anyone I think I know any particular things about. There are a few funny names that allows for puns, like Ready, Frigg, Express, etc.
  6. Just a thing about Denmark... This is why I abandoned my save in Denmark. Quite annoying to have players under contract just be poached without compensation.
  7. Also, you can play the Steam demo for 6 months in-game time for free. If you like it, then you can continue that game if you chose to buy it. So if you are unsure that's a good way to get a feel for it. Just a general advise for those wondering about something in the game.
  8. XaW - Knattspyrnufélagið Afríkuliðið - Youth intake 2027 Love this intake! Lots of talents. A good goalkeeper is exactly what we needed right now!
  9. Without knowing the specifics of the match itself, it's not easy to see how of why it happens, since I don't know what you changed from or to, but looking at the xG Match Story, you clearly made a mistake, since they had a sharp burst of chances around that time. So whatever you did on that occasion, it clearly didn't work. What happened VISUALLY in the match in those minutes? Did your players become passive? Where did the space open up for the opposition? Was the chances seemingly instructional issues, or player related. If it's the latter, you might have a weak squad mentally for example. The game is too complex to say you do X so Y will always happen. You can only shift the percentages around. Remember in the game as in real life, you can do everything perfect and still lose, as well as everything wrong as still win. I'd advise you to look at patterns, look at the last 10 matches you went defensive in the final minutes. How many did you win, and how many did you lose? Do the same for games you DIDN'T do the same and check things. If you lose more often going deep, then the way you are set up does not work with the changes you make. Could it be player instructions? Does your tactic breach structurally? Do you ask things of the players they are not capable to do? I very rarely see this happen when I try to hang on to a lead, so you are clearly doing something differently than me, and if it works fine for me, it leads me to think you are doing something that allows the other team to overwhelm yours in some way. If you can show both tactical setups, both before and after the change, perhaps it's possible to spot something, but without knowing how the game changes it might be hard. Also, remember player instructions and opposition instructions can also screw this up...
  10. What would you expect a DC man marking another player do? You are specifically asking him to follow that player everywhere, that's what man marking means. If you want tight zonal marking, then set up that. Having one of a midfield do man marking can be a good idea IF that player is the key to the opponents tactics, but very few teams utilize man marking. If you do so and your centre backs are draw out of position, you know what's causing your issues. Just change it. Man marking players is a high risk/reward option for tactics, both in game and real life, and if you do, the whole tactic must support that player being constantly out of position defensively.
  11. A question to that, how do you sett pressing aggressiveness, LoE, and DL? Because if you have a low DL, but high press and LoE you will "force" your defenders to move further up than the DL dictates. If you only concede through long balls, I'd suggest lowering both LoE and DL, but maintaining a high press, and thus creating a mid/low block that should be harder to break down by through balls or over the top. Also, the player roles will be impactful. I'd suggest a Pressing Forward to make sure the defenders won't have time to pinpoint long passes as accurately even if you have minimized the room due to a low DL. Of course, doing this too heavily will open some half-spaces if they chose to play a more direct shorter play through your lines, but these are the benefits and drawbacks you have to balance based on the opposition strengths.
  12. You are missing a key thing for going defensive later on. It's not like everything is equal, other than the mentality is lower. If you want to go defensively later on, you need to switch a whole lot more than mentality! I'd say more conservative role for most players (attacking->balanced, balanced >defensive), removing counter-press, easing off pressing (or increasing to avoid giving the other team too much time), lowering LoE (also situational), changing roles completely (a RPM in DM is not a very defensively secure role for example, complete wingbacks to fullbacks, etc). Closing down the game is not a one click option (unless you have a version saved!). Personally, I have a defensive tactic saved that I can put in if I think we need it, but I rarely change to it, unless I really think we have lost all momentum and I see loads of chances for the opponent and I really feel the need to change things to retain the win. If we continue to have a 2 goal lead and I rarely see chances against, I don't change things for the sake of changing. In a more general thoughts, I think that very few clubs start with a defensive mindset in any match at all. Most will try to play their own way, but change when they can't impose themselves, though most teams will want to counter whenever possible to try to get a goal, even if they are under siege for the most of the match. Even Burnly under Dyche had 2-3 players going forward at all possible chances to try to counter in a goal, and that mindset, I'd say is more towards balanced, but with a very low block with very high pressure in the defensive third. One thing I do agree is that mentality is a poor description for what it does. As @themadsheep2001 has written, it's got a lot to do with risk level, but it also impacts the mentality of the individual player roles (increasing or decreasing their individual mentality), so switching the label is not a great solution either imo. I very rarely use anything else than Balanced or Positive unless it's the final moments of the game and I'm desperate for a goal or to not concede.
  13. XaW - Knattspyrnufélagið Afríkuliðið - Season 2026 - 2. deild Squad | Transfers | Finances Back-to-back promotion is nothing to complain about, but we did have a horrible end to the season for some reason. Next season we will be in the 2nd tier, and I think that's where our level are at the moment, I hope we can stay up! Bikarkeppni karla: We beat KÁ before we lost to Kári in the 3rd round. League Cup B: We drew Afterelding, Hörður Í., KÁ, Kári, and Magni. We finished in 2nd place in the group and got knocked out. Trophy cabinet 3. deild - 1 (2025) 4. deild - Group A - 1 (2023)
  14. XaW - Knattspyrnufélagið Afríkuliðið - Youth intake 2026 Another very strong intake for us with loads of talented players. Quite strange attribute distribution, but if he works on the basics he can be really good.
  15. There are skins that do this for FM22 if you want to try it out. I think it could be a nice thing to do for some challenge runs, but I do like my attributes so not something I'd personally enjoy too much.
  16. Nah, looking at the video the ball is way too high for any of them to be involved in the play. The closest attacker (that I'm unsure is even offside) retreats before the ball is close anyway. For me this is a perfectly fine goal. If this is in a "non-VAR" league, then it could be a referee mistake, but it does seem weird. I do think this should be reported as a possible bug and let SI take a look to find out if the interfering is what is wrongly triggered or just a referee mistake or something.
  17. Based on what I see, it doesn't seem to be offside here. The guy in the red ring is the scorer and he is well onside.
  18. If you are referring to bug reports, then I can inform you that moderators do not have anything to do with that. We are not paid, nor employees of SI, we are doing this on our spare time trying to help out making sure the forums are a nice place to be for everyone. Often, we also answer questions people have if we know the answer, but we are not under any obligation to do so.
  19. The official confirmation for this came after the final database update for the game, and are as such not part of the final update to the rulesets of the leagues in question. Also calling the devs lazy are against the forum rules. Consider this a friendly reminder, and have a look in here to make yourself acquainted with the forum rules: https://community.sigames.com/forums/forum/34-house-rules-forum-guidelines/ Also make special note of this one regarding how to engage with others on the forum:
  20. This is FM22, but it was the same in FM21 If the option is not there, you either have asked not long ago, you are working on improving it already, or your are at the max.
  21. Yeah, as @sdx15 writes, you change odds types in the preferences. Just search for it and change it to how you want.
  22. XaW - Knattspyrnufélagið Afríkuliðið - Season 2025 - 3. deild Squad | Transfers | Finances Excellent season from the lads. We are moving up in the world, and things are looking good. Outside a small blimp towards the end, we had a very solid season with few bad games. Bikarkeppni karla: We beat Reynir S. before we lost to Fjallabyggðar in the 3rd round. League Cup B: We drew Viðir, Völsungur, Kári, KÁ, and Víkingur Ó in the group stage. We finished 3rd (randomly) in the group and got knocked out. Trophy cabinet 3. deild - 1 (2025) 4. deild - Group A - 1 (2023)
