  1. No, players will almost always complain about training, because they dont know whats good for them. As long as their training ratings are good, and their happines in other areas (playing time, contract, club, etc...) is ok, ignore it My tactic question. I use a simple 433 control possession. I took a look at the stats comparison and noticed my team are the best in both decisions and vision. Should i go more expressive?
  2. Evidence based football manager did a few tests on this, so you could check out some of his vids regarding training So despite the attributes being shown at 1-20, they are actually 1-100, so a small red arrow is a small drop in that attribute after the monthly reevalution. A big red arrow means a bigger drop and is more concerning As said, you better check the progress over a period of 4 or 6 months? dont overplay it (especially with younger players) so he has time to train, the progress tab is your friend
  3. Its not only AI transfer valuations, its even within your own club. I have a transfer budget of 100k. Then a scout of mine thought to be funny by going 'i found this relegation release clause of 200k". Or something I else I had in another savegame was that I offered a player out for 7M. He was angry and said it was too much. So we compromised on 9M..... It honestly feels the game is regressing at this point. There are no major innovations, the lingering issues dont get resolved, and we have to be satisfied with fancy EL/CL graphics and music, and a squad planner that basicly a glorified xls sheet. The other day the tooltip for the offside trap popped up... you know, which isnt in the game anymore. Defo not purchasing the next few editions unless they come with something radicaly new and improved
  4. thats why mental > Physicals > technical First you need to know what to do, then the physicals to be in position and the technique to execute it Physicals are higher rated in lower leagues because everybody mentals are lower and the play is usually more direct
  5. think of it like this. if a defender cant decide to be in the right place, it doesnt matter how good his tackling or heading is. If a striker cant anticipate a situation or be in the correct position to receive a ball, it wont matter he has finishing 20
  6. So to solve my predicament you would push the DM to support? Ive tried mezzala but wasnt succesfull
  7. I see you usually use wingsbacks. Arent they higher up than fullbacks by default? My striker is pretty tall and doesnt have the best passing to be a dlf/creator.
  8. This comes right on time, as in my new long term save ive settled on the 433 (mainly because a lack of strikers for a newly promoted VN side). Decided to go with board objectives, which were high pressing high possession football. Which I kinda like as it reminds me of the occasional fifa game with friends where I went with the principle "if they dont have the bal they cant score" Im having decent results with this (given how much of an uncoordinated mess the transfers were, basicly get who you can and I tend to instant result half of the time), but there are these games where i have 65+ possession and nothing happens up front. Judging from your posts, i should push the fullbacks higher up?
  9. Im the opposite. I take control of the youth team as I dont trust the AI staff for one bit. You might think this is very time consuming, but it doesnt have to be. At the start of the year, in the training calendar, just paste in an optimized youth shedule (like for example BTN has), and just copy that for all the weeks. Next up, inspect your players with at least 3 star potential and customize their individual training and focus. Once in january, you revisit this and change where necessary. And then every 3 month i check their progress and criticise or praise it, like i do with my main team. And yeah, once 18 they get sent out on loan.
  10. I opened a similar topic a few months ago: I agree that it ruins potential long term saves. basicly everybody loves building up their own youth. But barely be able to influence that, whether you are five, ten or twenty years at the club because some hidden numbers at the board level makes it not fun. The only practical solution is using the editor to upgrade the facilities and deduct some money from your transfer budget. Its ugly and I dont know the long term implications of fiddling with finances like that, but I dont know another way
  11. only talk to your players if you really really need to, cause the terrible programming will instantly remind you that you are talking against a poorly scripted program. "so yeah we conceded every shot on target and my goalkeeping got me only a 6.2, but in my eyes i played brilliantly and im utterly schoked you dont agree" On a more serious note, try smaller clubs with a bit of history or some quirks about them in some more obscure leagues. And defo dont race through seasons. In a evening session I go though 4-5 games max, at most an ingame month. And i take a break of a few days after the season is over instead of rolling into the new one immediately
  12. if you're like 5-6 years into the future in a minor league, its a lot easier to achieve as the AI doesnt develop its youngsters properly and isnt the best at recruiting anyway
  13. yeah i think only the editor will help here, and then hope you didnt prevent its use when you created the save. but is it a bug or did you lt your DoF sign them?
  14. correct. its a hidden attribute (like professionalism, consistency), but the coach wont report on it untill he is 22. But it is there. If you have the editor you can check it. Personally i would only panick if its a really low value, like "dreads big matches". Hidden attributes can change and grow (or go down). My star regen of FM21 had "doesnt enjoy big matches" and grew out of it to a neutral value
  15. From my experience, it is possible to eventually get a U23 team, but they will start of in the lower depths of the football pyramid (which isnt simulated ingame) and randomly push teams out for promotions. So if you're really lucky they eventually end up in the 3rd division, but dont bank on it. You will be abl to organise friendlies for the team though to keep matchfit Still, loaning out players is at that stage is the better alternative
  16. its basicly the same what Jagster said. If a player is in good form, his star rating goes up, even if his attributes dont change. And the game thinks "star rating goes up, so he must be improving", hence why you see it on the progress tab. Then when his star rating goes back down (aka regressing to the mean), the progress bar follows. So yeah in a sense it takes form into account But again, in your specific example I just think your player has already reached his potential and just had a stint of good form early in the season and is now back to his "average" form
  17. The progress graph is not just growth but also takes into account form So it looks he had a really good run of form from september to january, but has now regressed to the mean and his "october-form' iis his average as it is back climbing while some of his attributes had slight improvement, it does say no significant change. On one hand players grow more slowly and longer (aka when they are older) compared to previous fm's, but im thinking he is very close to his potential. His professional personality is another reason why he could have hit his ceiling this early. what does your coach say about his progress?
  18. if you remember the rome 2 TW faces, it weirdly enough makes sense. edit: if the makers of this are in charge of the match graphics, its no wonder it looks like crap
  19. If the game lets me fine them because of poor performance, always 1 week. In about 18 seasons managed over different careers only had issues with 2 players. And one of them was a proper nutjob who was even furious when asking for a wage increase... dont care if its irl not allowed, it makes me feel better bit dissapointed you cant do it anymore for youth players, as especially in older editions you could really boost their determination and work rate with it
  20. I already said, defenders get decent ratings, its the goalie who constantly flukes. Im playing on positive, so dont really understand where you get the aggressive mentality from. None of the fullbacks have the trait get forward whenever possible. Also there is a carrilero to cover the FB--a
  21. Well none of those keepers are classified as "leading player for the division"
  22. Ive seen Ai goalies concede 4-5 goals and still get a decent rating of something like 6.7 or higher. This to me indicates/proves the match engine knows when its a defender or GK mistake. take a look at examples below Notice 2 things: a) the game clearly blames the defenders, not the keeper B) Also look at the save ratio of my goalie. 7 shots on target, 5 saved.... a 71% save rate is mediocre at best. Again, the tactic is there but nobody is indicating how it should be improved to stop this
  23. My defenders get good rating (average above 7) and only rarely are to blame for missing something like an interception. And yeah, I concur with Etebear. AI goalies pull off stuff that is beyond their reach/capabilities
  24. thats why i posted my tactic, but as nobody commented on it, i assume the fault is not there. The dude cant stop a shot to save his ****ing life. Last 9 games: 4 shots on target, conceded 3 (6.2) 3 shots on target, conceded 2 (6.7) 4 shots on target - 7.4 6 shots on target - concded 1 - 6.5 2 shots on target - 7.5 2 shots on target - conceded 1 - 7 2 shots on target - conceded 1 - 6.8 5 shos on target, concded 1 - 6.9 6 shots on target, concded 4 - 6.0 this is supposed to be "a leading goalkeeper" for my division according to a 16 JA coach. A save percentage of 61%., You're not gonna tell me that agility of 8 means he moves like a grandpa..He hasnt saved a single game for me transferlisted him. so now searching for nr4....
  25. I dont look at the commentary. i look at the ratings. they are the worst by 0.25 of any of my starting 11. His expected saves are down the drain (see above). Ive had other careers where goalies averaged 7.20 or 7.30. The only reason his average isnt lower is because if you win 4-0 the goalie gets an automatic 7 or more evenif he didnt have to do anything
