  1. Its been like that since at least FM21, and it is still in the game this year as far as I can tell. Inside forwards often drop to a 6.5 within the first 15 to 20 minutes, which is completly nonsensical. Doesnt matter if they are a wonderkid or a Lower league scrub, ive seen it with all type of players. Im pretty sure its not a tactical issue either, but just the match engine that singles them out for some reason.
  2. 13y isnt that deep. It will still have all the current day wonderkids playing as they are around 30 and still top of their game. I'd say you have to judge after 20y when the jude bellinghams have retired
  3. Pretty sure it has always been like that. Multiple clubs having 3rd as media prediction bottom line, ignore media prediction in club profile, as it is based on reputation, which lags behind. Competition preview is based on current ability and therefore more accurate.
  4. Well i wasnt planning to do it in the beta, but i wonder how much they will change at release, or we should wait for the first proper patch
  5. So what im reading is that if you want to do a long journeyman or a Vanarama to PL save which will encompass more than a decade, we better wait? Cause basicly all my saves are to bring a small club from the lowest league to the european top (french national, 3rd bundesliga, spanish 4th division, etc...)
  6. Well thats because reputation doesnt change massivly during the season, but only gets the update in between
  7. Isnt season preview based on your (starting) squad average CA? hence you often see it jump after a big signing Media prediction is based on reputation, which always lags behind
  8. Inside forward (and to less extent inverted winger) are doing horrible for me in my first ten league matches. Encountered this problem in FM21 and never managed to fix it. Any early opinions on this? 433 dm wide with a target forward support. Often I see their ratings drop off to 6.5 in the first ten minutes, exactly the same as happened in 21.
  9. I understand why the game marks it as negative. You have two players in your pivot who both have a hold position instruction coded. And now you also have a play through the middle, while nobody in the middle is moving forward. Likewise, you want to see underlaps, but nobody is instructed to move into that area So defensivly its probably solid, but you will struggle to get the ball to the front. I would probably combine the dlp with something like a segundo volante to carry the ball and make runs into the final third
  10. Yeah ill try with FM21. It did not lock up completly, but at just point was heavily lagging. Mind you, this is a laptop where the fan freaks out when you charge it at the same time you watch YT... No wonder we got it for free
  11. So dont know if this is the correct topic, but I got a surface laptop a while ago from work. Now im basicly thinking for FM23 to have some parralel saves going. One with many leagues on my gaming pc, and one lowerkey save for this laptop Any speculation on how well it would go? I tried playing some democracy 4 which locked up.... System Model: Surface Laptop Go BIOS: 13.102.140 (type: UEFI) Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1035G1 CPU @ 1.00GHz (8 CPUs), ~1.2GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM
  12. Random question but didnt want to open a new topic for it. At what point are irl injuries incorporated in the game? Like for a Milan example, Zlatan is offcours out since summer untill next year, so that will be in, but for example Calabria got injured last week and will be out for the rest of this calendar year. will that make it into the game? Or is it all start date dependant?
  13. Cant offer much help as I havent touched FM in months, but yes i confirm crossing in FM21 was terrible (and offcours OP at the start of FM22. Players would just go wide and kick it against a defender, rather than passing it back to an unmarked teammate. Although given your description of campo, i would put low crosses on. It should increase the amount of cutbacks
  14. I mean thats the vanarama league for you. Chelmsford are currently 3rd irl, while last year they finished just out of the relegation zone. The difference in quality is so close sometimes that you can have wildly different results. And as pointed out, a bad start can easily snowball
  15. Development in the 18-21 age bracket is a combination of game time and training. (where as pre18 its mostly training) Given that semipro teams train far less, its a big no no for me. Especially combined with the lower staff and facility quality.
  16. How reliable is ratemytactic app/site? been tinkeirng on it while waiting for FM23 (as i dont have FM22)
  17. Keep him in the youth untill he is around 18, as training is the most important in that age bracket. Defo dont loan him out. Also dont put him in the first team, because as man utd your first team almost always plays twice a week, so they train less. Also, set his training position as leftback. This isnt a CB
  18. Would you say thats why you see so many blocked crosses in FM21? i felt like they were blocked so often that i just kept sticking to narrow instructions. Although i did hear crosses are maybe a bit OP in FM22 (havent played it) Likewise, i couldnt get inside forwards to perform, so my best career was with a 4132 narrow
  19. Well he is named Napoleon, so obviously runs through centre on a serious note, killer balls and switches ball
  20. havent heard thatname in ages. Am i misremembering thingsor did total club manager 2004 had some sort of achievement system that let you print out a huge poster?
  21. yeah id definitly switch the central midfield in roles. WTM is also a very odd choice
  22. So I dont want to be rude, and i suppose you prefer honest feedback rather than me lying but i did the changes and... its pretty awful (hope you dont take this personal, i appreciate the explanations so far) I played the same match 5 times (to filter out variance and im going back to the start of the season anyway at some point). Its a team that according to season preview is slightly worse than me -Front 4 averaged 6.5, even their substitutes -shot conversion remains terrible, barely 1/3 hits the goal, considerably less than any AI team i play - 1 clear cut chance in 5 matches, but didnt stop me from losing 3-0 then. In total condeded 7, only scored 3 (of which one was a corner again) -tons of blocked shots and crosses. everytime the ball went to the flank it ended in a corner. -possession given away very often, either by bad passing, running in a cul de sac, or just hoofing it To illustrate, match 5 of 5 I dot even considered this to be fm'ed. being fm'ed is playing well and losing. Tjis was playing not even averagly and losing. If your front row does **** all, you cant win. This was also the only match i had a better Xg
  23. DLF was my second option B, guess m in the habbit of picking bad player roles Both my AM's dont have a SS build unfortunately, they are playmakers (high passing, vision, teamwork, not finishing)
  24. I find possession being mostly lost by one of the front 4 players not necessarily the midfield/cb's. Ive been tinkering a bit with your comments in mind As for the fullbacks, I agree that they should be more aggressive to stretch play and offer support. hence is why I put them on support with go further forward PI. The reason it's a FB and not a WB is very simple. FBs allows me to customize the less crossing (crossing isnt effective and my fullback have poor crossing stats) I kept play out of defence as I dont want the ball to hoofed upfield. Vlahovic is the only player who might win an aerial duel. But I struggle which role to pick for him. As he has the "play with back to goal". Ive opted for Tm out of pure "i have no idea"
  25. I know were not supposed to listen to the Assman, but WBIB is the only way they might actually hit the goal. As said, the shot percentage that actually hits the goal is terrible low, hence why I put it on. I disagree with crosses being effective, especially in fm21. Only 20% on average finds the target, and headers are always low xg. The amount of crosses ending in a block/corner is astoundinly high
