david22
I think we should be able to create our own leagues in the database, I like to play custom made world superleagues but because you have to base it on the english leagues then there comes some annoying little things with it that ruin the enjoyment Surely it wouldn't be hard to implement for SI? Kain
Well, they'd also have to make it so you could choose your own rules for the leagues too, and all of the extra testing needed to make it work would probably be a nightmare. Something I'd never use either, but each to their own.
Campbell1892
yeah ive been wanting this for ages, the best part is choosing your own rules!
david22
yeah i'd like doing the own rules part myself, i'm sure it couldn't be too hard of a feature to implement into the editor considering all the other stuff you can edit in there
jod123
I would like this but I think it would be hard to implement considering the way it is at the moment. As league rules are hard-coded they would have to change this which can be easier said then done. Also they have to test it and make sure it works with whatever unorthodox combination of rules the user wants to use.
Mike7077
I think it would be quite fun to put your own leagues together and devise the rules for them. However, it sounds like it would be a nightmare from SI's point of view.
Saxonaitor
but fm is based on realism so it wouldn't make sense in my book but we are all entitled to our say
Elrithral
but fm is based on realism I'm looking forward to the added realism in FM10, you don't get to manage and all you get is Sky Sports News for every game
SI Staff Ter Posted February 25, 2009 SI Staff Share Posted February 25, 2009 yeah i'd like doing the own rules part myself, i'm sure it couldn't be too hard of a feature to implement into the editor considering all the other stuff you can edit in there Not hard to implement? Quite the opposite.
thezogsageordie
Sounds good, I also think that a making a lot of things optional would help. A good example of this is the optional 3d match, everyone's happy.
Yallii
I'd happily trade all the naff/boring/stupid/repetititive features they add after FM2005 in for a league editor or new leagues.
jayahr
Surely it wouldn't be hard to implement for SI? That bit devalues your whole post quite somewhat. This would have to be coded from scratch as that would still be easier than adapting what is there. I would love to see that as well, but if SI's resources are to be allocated either to this or to improving the game itself more, then I'd go for the latter. Rb
Its been mentioned countless times before. And SI have said its extremely hard to implement without the major demand of other features, so unfortunately its always put on the back burner
Themistofelis
But you do have an editor to do the job , just release it .
Neji
I'd love to see it but like others have said, it would be hard to implement. It's something I've wanted for a while but understand why it hasn't been added, and probably won't be.
SI Staff Ter Posted February 25, 2009 SI Staff Share Posted February 25, 2009 But you do have an editor to do the job , just release it . There isn't an editor for the leagues and competitions in the game. It's all hard coded in C++
Alexandre
Is there any alternative, like making blank leagues or at least making league swapping to work (which is totally buggy on FM2009)?
jayahr
Is there any alternative, like making blank leagues or at least making league swapping to work (which is totally buggy on FM2009)? That was suggested before, but there are so many things do code in respect of one league, even if the team numbers are set, that it would be too much to do. That has been discussed in a thread called about "I would spend 5 punds more for the ability to insert the Nigerian league into the game". Something along these lines. Should be an interesting read for you
Jack Rudd
There isn't an editor for the leagues and competitions in the game. It's all hard coded in C++ Yow. So it's probably not going to be possible unless SI release the SDK. Well, Firaxis did it for Civ4.
