We got three players sent off in the last game of the season, and they got a goal disallowed in the 92th minute. That is how close we were to going down... A even though we got knocked out of the Norwegian Cup, we had a decent game against Stabæk. We have been very unlucky with the cup draw the last three seasons, as we have faced teams from the top two tiers every time. I hope we can get fourth, or even fifth tier next season. And we were actually closer to the promotion play-offs than we were to relegation zone. If we're lucky, and get one or two good players in the next youth intake we might finish even higher. Gabriel Mejia and Johannes Randem looks absolutely brilliant! 16 finishing at this level is rare! This is the most green and yellow we have seen on a player in this save! Worse was it that we lost against two of the worst teams in the league. Åsane had one point when we played them... But still, we are league leaders! When we drew the two games this month the other teams around us in the table did the same thing. We had by far the easiest last game of the season, facing Elverum that already had been relegated. It started so well with a penalty for us in the 23 minute. Then, five minutes later, our star man Johannes Randem decided to make it harder for us by getting straight red card. Then came two quick goals from Gabriel Mejia before and after the break. We were cruising in to 3-0 victory, then Elverum scored two quick goals, and the panic set in! I played a 4-4-0-0-1 tactic, with a lone striker and everyone else in defence, and imagine my relief when we scored on counter-attack right after changing the formation, but, it was a offside, and I started sweating. Mind you, we were league winners at this point with a draw, so a goal for Elverum would not be that bad, but then Alta scored in the 86th and 90th minute, and we needed a win. In the end, we held on, and the next season we will be playing in the second tier of Norwegian football! Player of the Season An absolutely brilliant season from this guy! We also have a few players with good personalities! For the first time we also have a player from Norway that is not born in Kautokeino. I am really happy with this season, even though our form in the second half of the season was sub par. We survived, and that was my main concern at the start of the year. We conceded by far the most goals of all the teams, and that is something we have to fix if we want to stay in the league. I really hope we can get a decent defender in the next youth intake, as it would improve the back four. For the first time we finish the season without red finances! Warg92 Posted November 19, 2021 Author Share Posted November 19, 2021 After we got promoted to the Obos Liga, and getting a few very good players in the recent youth intakes I had to release a lot of players. I had to let a couple of loyal servants leave the club. Most notably Nguyen Thanh Tuan (YP03d) and Ahmed Loding (YP03b). A club captain for many years, Nguyen Thanh Tuan (YP03d) was just not good enough for the Obos Ligaen. Ahmed Loding (YP03b) leaves us as the player with the most goals, and the most capped player as well! Also a quick shout out to Anton Magnusson (YP01n), one of the players from the first youth intake at the club. He did not get a single game for us, but at least he had fun in the second team. We started the league with a draw against newly relegated Bryne, then we lost away to Fredrikstad and finished of with a win and another draw. In the Norwegian Cup games I rotated the entire squad and against Finnsnes it was a bit closer than I would have wanted! *edit* The game just crashed, thankfully I only had to play the Finnsnes game again. We beat Start, a Eliteserien team in the third round of the cup, then we followed it up with an absolute smashing of Ull/Kisa and Øygarden! And for at least for a little while, we have a positive GD.
