Don't get me wrong, 10.5M is a very good transfer for us, and will probably help us in the long run. Still, he was one of the best players at the club. We're currently 4th as Bodø/Glimt won their game. We have played a lot of the "bad" teams in the league, and that is one of the reasons for our good month. We had it in the bag almost the entire way as well, until Brann scored in the 96th minute against Rosenborg. That made us drop down from 5th to 6th, and thus losing the ECII spot. I am very happy with the season either way, as we finished a lot higher than what I thought would be possible before the season started. We lost our RB this season, and that was a big loss. Hopefully the next guy will step up and grow rapidly! I am happy with our first taste of european continental football! We lost against the two teams that are quite a few level above our qulaity, and beat the team that is slightly better than us. By beating Maribor both times we are through to the knockout round of the ECII! It is still good, and even though the youth intake preview said that the best players would be strikers and wingers we have couple of decent players in defence as well. Three of those was in the ECII, and we are still in it, so i won't post those just yet. But we've had a great start in the league, and will be 2nd if we can win the game in hand. I chose to rest all of the starting eleven against Molde, as we had a really important match coming up (I will go in to more detail about that game in the next post). Warg92 Posted November 27, 2021 Author Share Posted November 27, 2021 2036/2037 Euro Cup II After finishing third in our Euro Cup group, behind Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, we got to play in the ECII knockout stages. First up, we faced BVT (Boavista) from Portugal. They only have two players in the game, the rest is grayed out. But a good team nonetheless. But we actually beat them. 5-3 on aggregate. Two very good games, and the right team got through. Next up, AS PAOK Salonika from Greece. The star rating of their players was really close to ours. We had absolutely no problems with them, and beat them 12-0 on aggregate! Then we had to go to Turkey to play Beşiktaş A.Ş. We beat them 2-1 at home, and it should probably have been more goals for us. In the second game we got two goals in the first half and were in control of the game. Or so I thought, first we conceded a very easy goal, then we got a stupid red card and conceded once more. But in the end we held on and got through the quarter final as well! Sparta Prague was the next team we had to face. We played home in the first game, and in the Czech Republic the next. This time we were the team 0-2 down. But after a late comeback we managed to get a draw,even when we missed a penalty. In the second game we were in control from the start, and should have scored more goals. But in the end it did no matter and we that game 2-0. After neating Sparta Praha, we were in the ECII final! In the final we faced Aston Villa, a team that finished 6th in the Premier League! It was a very close game, but in the end we lost it. I was a lot closer than I thought it would be though. But I am so happy! We actually got to the final, and even better, we had a real chance at winning the trophy, and only a penalty separated us in the end! And to put it in to perspective, this is their key player. They came in with an offer of around 19m total, and just for fun I decided to almost double their offer, plus a 50% sell on fee, and they agreed! This is him the day he left us. Should have been a bit closer though, it was not a 0-3 game. The Bodø/Glimt game was the debut of our new starting GK, and he did not have a good game. We lost against Molde, but scoring two against them is an achievement in itself, as they have conceded the least goals in the league. A great season all round, with a good finish in the league and a final in the ECII. We scored the most goals in the league, and that is something we have keep doing, as our defence is sub-par. Ulf Räikkiönen (YP13a) Ulf has played every single game in the Premier League for Watford after the transfer. He had a horrible start though, and after six games he had a 6.30 rating, but he's steadily improving. Watford currently sits 18th in the league. Both our starting right midfielder and our defensive midfielder has been injured. At least we knocked Vålerenga out of the cup, even with a lot of back up players in the starting XI. Molde is by far the best team in the league, so I am not that unhappy with that game. The game against Brann however, terrible... We're also through to the group stages in the ECII, after beating Osijek 6-1 on aggregate. Last time in Europe we faced Ateltico Madrid and Liverpool, so this should be easy! As I posted earlier, we had a couple of key players out with injuries, and that is what cost us the game. But we're closer to the top than we were last season, so that is good news. No problems in the ECII. We lost the away game against Qairat 0-3 as I used only youth players! But he has not really set the world alight. He has also made his debut for Norway. Ulf Räikkiönen (YP13a) He has played every single game in the league for Watford since they bought him. He has requested to leave though, so he might leave them soon. Hopefully Watford will get promoted this season, so he will be worth more money, as we have a 50% sell on fee. That is why Eskil Hansen Rosenberg (YP18a) looks great, as he can play in every single position in the back four! The only problem might be his personality.
