DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2021/22 Bamber Bridge Season Summary An excellent campaign from start to finish culminated in promotion as we clinched the league title and also won the F. A. Trophy for a league and cup double. If that wasn't enough, we also had a good run in the F. A. Cup. Season Details League Table - We were top early on and never relinquished our place. An exceptional season. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - Consistency was the key as we churned out win after win. F. A. Cup - A good cup run was ended by League One Wigan Athletic in the second round. We were live on TV and that money helped enormously. F. A. Trophy - Another great cup run as we made it to the final where we played National League side Aldershot Town. We proved to be far too strong as we ran out deserved winners, by three goals to nil. Pre Season Friendlies - I deliberately set up a very tough pre season campaign to see where we were as a team and it wasn't often we were outclassed. Squad - I will need to move quite a few players on as I build a squad capable of securing promotion to the Football League. Squad Dynamics - As good as expected. Transfers In 1 & 2 - Lots of new arrivals, all either on free transfers or loan as I revolutionised the squad. Transfers Out - Just six players departed including hot prospect John Payne. I have taken a risk here as the board tried to sell him above my head. By selling him myself, I have secured a 50% sell on clause. Youth Candidates - A poor intake with Harvey Richards supposedly being the standout player. I doubt any of them will be offered professional deals. Finances - A good F. A. Cup run has seen the clubs bank balance grow a little. Key Players Virgil Gomis - A recent arrival, the French striker has hit the ground running. Abobaker Eisa - A Sudanese international left winger, the 26 year old terrorised right backs whenever he played. Hugo Jinkinson - Centre half who played above himself for much of the season. Jackson Smith - Young goalkeeper who had a fine campaign. Phil Jagielka - The former England international has added some much needed experience to our back four. Next Season Another promotion push is the goal. Cloondawg
Season 3 (2023/24) - Sky Bet League Two Competitions: Overview Sky Bet League Two (Table| Results): Board Expectation: Avoid relegation. Season Preview Odds: 8th (14-1). Finish: 1st. I thought back to back promotions would make this division difficult for us, it also seemed really difficult to get players in of the right standard at first. However, the momentum continued and we got off to a really good start which just kept going. Before long we built a gap at the top and it looked clear we would be promoted, especially with 3 automatic promotion spots. In the end we were champions, even with a bad patch towards the end of October where we didn't win in 5 games. Expecting a difficult season in League One, but if we can keep momentum going, let's see what happens. EFL Cup (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Second Round by Leicester. Beat Tranmere to make it through to the Second Round, but Premier League Leicester were always going to be too good for us. FA Cup (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Fifth Round by Norwich. A great run in the FA Cup with some very favourable home draws. The only disappointment was that we didn't get a big side away for the extra income. Wycombe and Blackpool of League One and Sheff Wed of the Championship were great victories, but Norwich of the Premier League again were too much. We were very lucky to take them into extra time and were just hanging on really before they beat us 3-1 AET. EFL Trophy (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Northern Section Second Round It was clean sailing through the group stage, then we squeezed past Carlisle in the first knockout round. Man Utd Under 23s had some amazing young players and they dominated us despite it being only 2-1. Club: Squad (End of Season Awards): We were quite heavily reliant on loans which is a concern going into League One. A real strength this season is that we could rely on a strong backup in most positions this season and it was much needed with so many fixtures coming thick and fast. Transfers: Sent a lot of players that would not feature out on loan. Strengthened quite a lot with free agents and loan deals. Club Vision: Expected to avoid relegation in League One. Key Players: Jarell Quansah - Signed on a free after being released by Liverpool. He was a rock at the back alongside Oswell in the majority of games this season and chipped in with some vital goals. Taylor Oswell - Signed of a free after being released by Man City. Already at League One level and still improving. Ian Carlo Poveda - On loan from Leeds, he provided some creativity out wide. Looking to bring him back on loan again next season if possible. Cieran Slicker - Another one in on a free after being released by Man City and he was a very solid goalkeeper. D'Margio Wright-Phillips - Started off really well with a lot of goals. Struggled a little bit after an injury but came back again strongly at the end of the season. Best Youth Intake Player: I signed a few youth players and this was the best one - Martyn Sweeney Overall Best Eleven: 5 inductees this year Finances: Looking good. Training facilities for the first team and the youth were upgraded. Plans for a new stadium have been announced. DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2022/23 Bamber Bridge Season Summary Another dominant season where we blew away the opposition in the league as we secured promotion to the Football League. A long F. A. Cup run was the icing on the cake. Season Details League Table - We were top after a couple of games and never looked back. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We were terrific for most of the campaign and won the league title with ease. F. A. Cup - A sensational cup run was ended at Championship side Bristol City at the fifth round stage. The win over another Championship side, Stoke City, in the fourth round is the greatest result in the clubs history. F. A. Trophy - There was no repeat of last season where Gateshead defeated us in the north east, in the fifth round. Pre Season Friendlies - We only lost twice in a very tough pre season campaign. Squad - I will be making some key additions so we can try to dominate League Two. Squad Dynamics - After such a good season, this is exceptional as you would expect. Transfers In 1 & 2 - Whilst not as many players as last year arrived, I still overhauled the squad as we adapted to the top level of non league football. Transfers Out - Just a few departures to other clubs as the majority were released. Youth Candidates - An excellent intake with striker Courtney Gould YP23A1 looking like a fine prospect. Finances - We have a very healthy bank balance, thanks to a terrific cup run in the F. A. Cup. Key Players Virigl Gomis - Another successful goalscoring campaign for the French striker. Morgan Boyes - Playing at left back, the Welshman was an automatic selection. Derrick Williams - The Irishman was a rock at centre half. Ben Wilson - The goalkeeper played well enough to justify his big wage. Harry Chapman - I couldn't believe it when this versatile midfielder agreed to sign for the club. He is far too good for non league football. Next Season I feel we can continue to push on and reach League One. DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2023/24 Bamber Bridge Season Summary Another league and cup double as we won League Two comfortably and squeezed home in the Papa John's Trophy. Season Details League Table - It took us a while to reach the top but once there, we never looked back. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - Yet again, consistency was the key as we churned out victory after victory. F. A. Cup - There would be no fairy tale cup run this year, as we lost at home to Bradford City, in a replay, at the first round stage. Carabao Cup - We did very well to reach the third round before a very poor performance at home to fellow League Two side Accrington Stanley saw the club eliminated. Papa John's Trophy - Despite finishing second in our group, we progressed and reached the final, where, after a goalless draw against Swindon Town, we won 5-4 on penalties to lift the trophy. Pre Season Friendlies - Another tough pre season campaign saw the club lose just two games. Squad - The depth is excellent and with the right additions, we can continue to rise. Squad Dynamics - Exceptional, as always. Transfers In - The usual mix of free transfers and loans. Transfers Out 1 & 2 - Quite a few departures as I overhauled the squad again. Youth Candidates - Not as good an intake this year with Ian Marsh YP24A7 looking like the pick of the bunch. Finances - We are hemorrhaging cash. We may be forced to sell some more young players this summer. Key Players Nicolai Boilesen - The Danish international left back may be aged 31 now, but he is still a huge capture for the club. Sidnei Tavares - Another stellar acquisition. The Portuguese midfielder arrived on a free transfer. Mark McGuinness - The Irish central defender played above himself for most of the campaign. Callum Wright - He can play either in midfield or on either wing and is therefore a regular starter. Matthew Smith - Playing in either central midfield or in the anchor role, the 23 year old is capable of playing a lot better. Next Season Can we achieve yet another promotion? G_D_K
The game can now truly begin! After more than a dozen seasons, small fry Leiston have now made it to the EPL. His value is skyrocketing, but, fortunately, not attracting much attention despite his value continually rocketing above his min release clause. On the other side, Northern Ireland's goalkeeper Rory McBriar has been with us since our first season in the EFL Championship --- and can be counted on to mind the net even when the defense breaks down. He only played 10 matches in his first season on the team, but has played every league match but one in the final 5 matches in the EFL Championship. AvRs of (7.2, 7.11, 7.03, 6.98, and 7.10) are probably second in the team overall during that 5-year spell (second to Whitehouse), and he has 61 clean sheets in the league during his tenure. I'm hoping both players will bookend my team as I seek to stay up in our first EPL season.

Gersdude123
League - The table seemed to have done better than i expected as i thought it would be a struggling season- https://imgur.com/ipFJlm1 Competition - The cups proved to be much better for me this season with a few shock along the way I managed to make the Caraboa cup final but sadly lost to Chelsea in the final. The FA Cup was another trophy that we had some success in sadly we got knocked out in the Quarter final, the positives for me is that we are slowly making progress in these competition's let's hope next season we can build on our success. Transfers - With the budget that the board gave me i managed to secure a few good free agents and transfer with a few loans to help me throughout the season- Imgur: The magic of the Internet

dafuge
Met Police - Premier League - 2070/71 We hit back last season with the quadruple, but the real story is the race against to time for João Pereira to reach 1000 goals. League Table - three defeats but we hit the 100 point mark. Community Shield - we made hard work of this against ten men. UEFA Super Cup - this one was a bit more comfortable. League Cup - the highlight was the semi final as we scored three in added time. FA Cup - another game where we turned it on in extra time. UEFA Champions League - extra time was not needed as we made easy work of the final. Squad - the squad is really strong, but my left wingers will need replacing soon. DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2024/25 Bamber Bridge Season Summary Another excellent season with promotion to the Championship secured and a good F. A. Cup run. Season Details League Table - We were top for most of the campaign and were never in danger of losing top spot. League Fixtures 1, 2 & 3 - As with our other promotion years, consistency was the key. F. A. Cup - We were superb in reaching the fifth round and played really well before narrowly losing one nil at home to giants Liverpool. Carabao Cup - Unlike the F. A. Cup, we were awful as we lost in the first round at home to Rotherham on penalties. Papa John's Trophy - We topped our group this year before losing at home in the quarter finals to Chelsea Under 23's. Pre Season Friendlies - A near flawless pre season, with only Bournemouth proving to be too strong. Squad - We are good enough to challenge in the Championship, though we need a lot more depth. Squad Dynamics - Despite another excellent season, this could be better. Transfers In - We finally spent some money on transfer fees. Transfers Out - Some big sales as the books needed to be balanced. Youth Candidates - Goalkeeper Charles Dukuly YP25A11 is the best prospect in a poor group of players. Finances - Thanks to player sales, we are in the black, though only just. Key Players Sidnei Tavares - It was a sensational season from the Portuguese central midfielder. Elliot Simões - A squad player, he scored for fun whenever he started. Teddy Sharman-Lowe - I thought I would need to replace the goalkeeper but he stepped up and won some games on his own. Luke Bradley-Morgan - Playing in central defence he had a solid campaign. CJ Hamilton - Playing on either wing, he was ok, but is capable of a lot more. Next Season I think we can challenge for a play off spot. Do you notice any difference in speed from when you've just load the save to when you've played about 5-6 matches? 3. How do you play your games? Do you use instant result or you play games normally? DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2025/26 Bamber Bridge Season Summary A satisfying season overall as we challenged for a play off place, though we fell just short. Season Details League Table - We struggled early on before finding our feet and slowly climbed the league table. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We were awful in the first third of the season and were fighting to not be drawn into a relegation fight. We then found some form and rose up the table. F. A. Cup - We made it to the fifth round, including beating giants Chelsea en route, before losing at home to Manchester United. Carabao Cup - A loss away to top flight Sheffield United in the third round put paid to any hopes of a cup run. Pre Season Friendlies - Ten wins and two draws in our twelve games represented a terrific pre season campaign. Squad - The squad is much better though we need more depth. Unfortunately we may need to let some players go to raise funds. Squad Dynamics - This is back to being as good as you expect it to be. Transfers In - I spent money we didn't have though it did improve the squad greatly. Transfers Out 1 & 2 - We were forced to sell our first choice goalkeeper for a club record £3m. Youth Candidates - An excellent group of players with central midfielder Daniel O'Connor YP26A14 looking like the clear stand out player. Finances - We are only in the black due to a board takeover towards the end of the season. I may need to sell some of my star youngsters to reshape the squad. Key Players Sidnei Tavares - The Portuguese midfielder had another strong campaign. Luke Bradley-Morgan - Playing as a central defender, he rose to the challenge of the Championship. Juan Carlos - Signed on a free transfer from Valencia, the young Spaniard was our best player this year. Jean-Jacques Charbonnel - Another free transfer addition, the young Frenchman arrived from Paris Saint Germain and was sensational. John Barr - Yet another free transfer signing, the young Scotsman is a versatile defender who arrived from Ross County. He had a great season. Next Season With the right additions, I feel we can achieve a top six place and thus, a play off spot. Andrew Haines
A month ago I got Lewes into the Conference National and had a decent first season at that level. 5 seasons later (which apathy meant I didn't post updates on) I was still stuck in mid-table and came to the conclusion that my tactics were to fault. Excellent when I had a strong team but mediocre otherwise. I've spent a month working on a new tactic and I've got a 4-2-3-1 I'm happy with. Going to have another crack at the challenge, this time as Lancaster City. profile
DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2026/27 Bamber Bridge Season Summary After a slow start, a phenomenal second half of the season saw the club promoted as runners up. A long run in Carabao Cup only added to the great campaign. Season Details League Table - The second half of the season was amazing and we finished second. We were just pipped to top spot by Norwich City. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - After a slow start, we were looking at a mid table finish. We finished the season unbeaten in twenty five league games which saw us climb to second and promotion. F. A. Cup - A tough draw in the fourth round saw the club lose at Arsenal in a replay. Carabao Cup - We defeated Manchester City on penalties en route to the semi final before narrowly losing to Arsenal 4-3 on aggregate. We nearly overturned a 3-0 first leg deficit. Pre Season Friendlies - Another unbeaten pre season enabled the club to start the season in full swing. Squad - I think we are strong enough to survive, though we do need a lot of reinforcements. Squad Dynamics - As exceptional as one would expect after promotion to the Premier League. Transfers In - A lot of new players arrived as I improved the squad considerably. Transfers Out 1 & 2 - Players were sold for record amounts as I raised the funds to improve the squad. Youth Candidates - An exceptional group of players with goalkeeper Rob O'Hara YP27A21 looking like he could be a superstar in the making. Finances - We have a very healthy bank balance, largely due to player sales and this will only grow, with the Premier League monies due in. Key Players Luke Bradley-Morgan - How this centre back continues to perform so well is beyond me. Has just signed a new contract. Héctor Marina - Our star player. The Peruvian international central midfielder is still only twenty years old. Courtney Gould YP23A1 - The first academy graduate to make this list. Playing on the right wing, he is fairly inconsistent. Demba Kouma - Young Spaniard signed on a free transfer from Barcelona. His versatility makes him an essential part of the squad. Ante Palaversa - Signed for £2m from Coventry City, the Croatian midfielder played well enough. Next Season Survival. Anything else would be a bonus. DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2027/28 Bamber Bridge Season Summary A season where we defied all expectations and qualified for the Champions League. Season Details League Table - An excellent fourth place finish enabled the club to qualify for the Champions League. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We nearly blew a top four place as our form deserted us in the run in. F. A. Cup - We were surprisingly beaten by Birmingham City, who play in the Championship, in the quarter final. Carabao Cup - A poor performance at home to Arsenal in the fourth round ended our interest in the competition. Pre Season Friendlies - For the first time, we had a perfect pre season campaign. Squad - We played way above what I expected and I intend to strengthen the squad further. Squad Dynamics - As good as it always is. Transfers In - Not as many new arrivals as in previous campaigns, though the step up in quality has meant we brought in a lot of loans. Transfers Out - No big sales as I managed to hold onto our best players. Youth Candidates - Paddy Hyland YP28A28 is the best prospect out of a poor group. Finances - We are swimming in cash as the TV rolls in. Key Players Héctor Marina - The best player at the club by some distance. Courtney Gould YP23A1 - A good campaign from the homegrown right winger. Demba Kouma - Very disappointing. He really struggled in the Premier League. Roberto Medel - The Chilean goalkeeper was a new arrival and was simply sensational. Vifran - The young Brazilian winger broke into the first team this season and may become a regular going forward. Next Season With a thin squad, we may struggle to compete both at home and in Europe. So a safe mid table position will be just fine. Andrew Haines
Lancaster City National League North– 2021/22 – 5th Squad Transfers Overview A really positive start to my career at Lancaster. We qualified for the playoffs losing out to a strong Chester City side 5-2 in the first round. This was achieved with a team largely made up of released youth players from lesser premier league sides. A tight wage budget will mean I need to release a reasonable proportion of these for next season to enable recruitment of stronger players as they become available. This could leave me reliant on non-contract players for the early stages of the season. Key Players Mike Fondop – The ex-Burton striker added presence upfront and contributed 12 goals. Ludwig Francillette – Superb centre-back was impressive having signed following his release from Newcastle. Unfortunately he will leave in the summer on a free. Andrew Haines
Lancaster City National League North– 2022/23 – 12th Squad Transfers Overview Our second season was a disappointment following an impressive first season. We ultimately finished in mid-table with a 12th place finish but we flirted with relegation for much of the season. Annoyingly I had strengthened the team and was looking forward to building on last season and perhaps even promotion. On a positive, I now have a good side with decent prospects for next season. Key Players Morten Spencer – Norwegian ex-Leeds youngster hit 13 goals from attacking midfield. Bobby Kamwa – Another ex-Leeds academy player, the Cameroonian midfielder converted to play as an inverted winger. Cloondawg
Season 4 (2024/25) - Sky Bet League One Competitions: Overview Sky Bet League One (Table| Results): Board Expectation: Avoid relegation. Season Preview Odds: 6th (6-1). Finish: 1st. The momentum continued and with a good base of squad players, added to by 5 quality loan signings who were excellent for this level. Before long it was clear we would be going up to the Championship. We struggled a little bit after January with an injury to the star striker, and so many fixtures from all the competitions we were playing in, but we kept grinding out results. Another great season. EFL Cup (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Fourth Round by Leicester. Another season, another defeat to Leicester in this competition. Although we made it further this time, beating Barrow, Shrewsbury, then Hull before Leicester proved to be too good for us. FA Cup (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Quarter Final by Manchester City. An amazing run in the FA Cup and our best yet. The number of replays we had to play to get through to this stage really put strain on the squad throughout the season, but it was worth it for the income gained. A replay win against Scunthorpe and a win away to Swindon got us through to the Third Round, from here the draws were quite kind to us and we knocked out Nottm Forest and Reading after tight draws and replay wins. Then another kind draw saw us face Birmingham, also of the Championship, who we came back from behind to take to extra time and then sneaked through 4-3. Finally, we were draw against out first Premier League team at home, Manchester City. They were top of the league and had great players as expected. We were totally outclassed and dumped out the cup, but an amazing run. EFL Trophy (Results): Finish: Winners Our first trophy outside of league competitions. We didn't get off the best of starts in the group stage after a loss to Chesterfield, but wins again Doncaster and Burnley u23s saw us top the group. Manchester Utd u23s were next, who knocked us out of this last year, and this time we got revenge winning 3-2. Narrow victories over Mansfield, Morecambe and Liverpool u23s saw us into the final where we also narrowly beat Stoke 2-1 to lift the cup. Club: Squad (End of Season Awards): We were again heavily reliant on loans and these players were way above the quality of the rest of the squad. Macdonald in particular was unbelievable and carried us at times. The good news is, we already tied up 3 loans for next season and will hopefully use the other 2 spots wisely again. Transfers: Sent a lot of players that would not feature out on loan. Strengthened a lot with free agents and loan deals. The best piece of business was to sell Taylor Oswell for £1.2m to Derby and get him back for a season long loan. I have also got him for another season on loan too. Club Vision: Expected to avoid relegation in the Championship. Key Players: Gareth Macdonald - Still can't believe I was able to loan this guy from Liverpool. He was unstoppable with a 43 league goals in all competitions. Great news is that I was able to tie him up for another years loan. Ian Carlo Poveda - Signed on a free after being released by Leeds and previously being on loan with us in League Two. He carried on his good form and provided 13 goals and 19 assists in all competitions from the left wing. Taylor Oswell - Sold for £1.2m to Derby, with a loan back clause. He was solid again at the heart of the defence. Retained on loan for another year. Jarell Quansah - Another solid season after I had doubts he would be able to step up to this level. He played well partnered with Oswell, just like last season. Jersson Gonzalez - Played in rotation with Poveda on the left wing and also chipped in with a good amount of goals and assists. In fact, he broke the League One record for most assists in a season with 18 assists. Best Youth Intake Player: I signed a few youth players and this was the best one - Trevor Woodall Overall Best Eleven: 7 inductees this year Finances: Still looking good after good cup runs. The youth facilities were upgraded again. Plans for a new stadium are still in place, but no news about this. Manager Profile: Completed the National A Licence and will hopefully be able to start on the next one soon. larxus
Season 2023/24 Review Gosport Borough Season Review: I was really expecting playoff to be honest. Sure, we did very well in the first half of the season, but we had a slump for a short while, and lots of draws. Aldershot dominated 1st place for two-third of the season, I had pretty much given up on 1st place. Then their winning streak broke towards the last stretch, and that's when they lost a lot of points, winning just 1 in 10 games. So we took that opportunity to jump over them. They ended up third (10 points behind us) even though before their slump, they were leading us by 5 or 6 points. Oh, we also just turned professional at the end of the season! Board expectations: Club Culture: Club Vision Vanarama National League: Fight bravely against relegation Media prediction: 23rd FA Cup: No expectations FA Trophy: No expectations Results: Vanarama National League : 1st | League Table | Player Stats | Team Stats FA Cup: First Round FA Trophy: Fourth Round Season Summary: Transfers Finances Awards Key Performers: Devon Arnold: Top goalscorer for the club again! For some reason, I keep having troubles in second half of the season. Same thing happened to this guy, but good thing he still turns up with goals here and there. I really need to get an upgrade, but it's difficult to let go of the pace and acceleration. Hopefully there are better options when we move up and turn pro. Freddie Moriarty: Great first half of the season, but I considered him a liability in the late stages. My problem with him is that he takes these wild shots that only a mini-tornado happening would ever result in a goal. At one point, I wanted to drop him but there are just no good options. Surprisingly, he still got the most assists in the club. Jacob Knightbridge: Cool name right? There are times I wanted to throw him off a bridge for letting in stupid goals, but after a period of adjustment, he started performing better. Broke the record for most clean sheets in the club, so I'll forgive him. Of course, if there are better options in the future, I'll let him go. Notable In-house Youth Prospect(s): None. Next Season's Goals: 1) Try to stay up. 2) Offer full time contracts to important players. 3) Better ST, CB, and maybe a couple more positions. dafuge
Met Police - Premier League - 2071/72 This season was all about the race for João Pereira to reach 1000 goals, he needed to score 36. League Table - unbeaten, but a lot of draws. Community Shield - a nice easy win. UEFA Super Cup - we needed penalties to beat Watford. League Cup - a fitting scorer of the winner. FA Cup - we cruised to the win. UEFA Champions League - we looked unbeatable in the knockout rounds, but we just couldn't hold on to the lead in the final. João Pereira was given the chance to come on as a sub and win it for us, instead he missed the first penalty. Squad - my only worry is that my left wingers are both over 30 now. Transfers - I switched our backup goalie and signed a long term target to replace João Pereira. Finances - a small profit. Key Player Profiles: João Pereira - he was still our top scorer as he just about got the 36 goals he needed to reach 1000. Question is now, do I sell him or keep him as a backup for the next year? Ben Wade - the replacement. Shin Sang-Il - our MVP. Andrew Haines
Lancaster City National League North– 2023/24 – 2nd Squad Transfers Overview Promotion achieved in our third season by route of the play-offs. Decent pre-season recruitment strengthened with notable arrivals Jarell Quansah in defence and Alex Doyle in midfield from Liverpool and Man City respectively. Form was strong until 3 defeats in October. This prompted further recruitment with Danny Lupano at centre-back and Kyle Scott in midfield arriving followed a month later by key signing Henri Ogunby on a free from Stoke to play as a striker. Form was then improved through till February which was patchy. In March we made the most important signings of all. Ex-Leicester Josh Eppiah and ex-Huddersfield Rolando Aarons arrived to play on my wings, both of whom significantly raised the level of the team. At this stage we were well embedded in the play-offs but a distance from the top of the table. With our new signings we embarked on a great run of form. We climbed almost to the peak of the table accrueing 88 points. In previous seasons this might have been enough to be champions but we were pipped by Chorley on 91 points. In the play-offs, second place granted us home advantage and we duly dispatched Alfreton 2-0 in the semi with Rolando Aarons scoring both goals and Altrincham in the final again 2-0 with Aaron registering again. Key Players Roland Aarons – Ex-Huddersfield winger scored 6 goals in his 9 goals after arriving in March. Henri Ogunby – The ex-Stockport attacker arrived from Stoke and played on the wing or as a striker scoring 11 goals. Andrew Haines
Lancaster City National League– 2024/25 – 22nd Overview I'm not doing a full update on this season.. I was relegated from the National League in my first season up. I wasn't sure if I would continue and decided to see how it went for the following season. Long and the short, we started okay but star player Ronaldo Aarons picked up a serious injury and after October we were awful.. right to the end of the season where despite a mini rally in April that almost kept us up we went down. Andrew Haines
Lancaster City National League North– 2025/26 – 1st Squad Transfers Overview Following relegation I had a small toy with my tactic, just tweeking to make a few improvements. I had decided to have another go at getting promoted immediately. I figured it might be fun if I could thrash my way through the league. I was happy enough with recruitment with the highlight being striker Sebastiano Zucchini from Everton. In the first half of the season, we were decent but trailed Brackley in first place who had been exceptional. In the second half of the season though we took control. From the start of December we only lost a single game (inexplicable 1-0 at home to relegation battling Hereford) winning 22 of 27 games until the final game of the season when we were already promoted. Ultimately we finished top with 102 points ahead of Brackley and Boreham Wood who accrued 96 and 95 points respectively. I would be aggrieved to finish 2nd with over 90 points let alone 3rd.. So we were immediately promoted and it was pretty fun. I’m not sure what next season has to hold though. Hopefully not an immediate relegation again. Key Players Sebastiano Zucchini – Italian striker signed from Everton. Scored an impressive 36 goals in 50 games. Joe Rothwell – Midfielder who played 161 games for Blackburn scored 21 goals from the left wing. MikaelS
Fifth season with Haringey Borough. League Table - 12th spot and survival. Quite happy with that. FA Cup - Reached 3rd round again, just to lose to Newcastle but gave up a good fight. Carabao Cup - Lost to Brighton in the 2nd round. Papa John's Trophy - Reached the final, but could do nothing against Man Utd U23. Squad - A few changes but not all was successful. Transfers - all free in and some loans out with some money in. Finances - Small bit into the good part, hopefully I can sell a few players. Key players Ben Hockenhull - Freebie from Brentford. Absolutely rock in defence, which was needed. Timmy McGuigan - Great young player I got from Man Utd. I hope I can hold on to him. Kazeem Olaigbe - Top goal scorer again. He just bangs them in, so I am so dependent on him. DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2021/22 FC United of Manchester Season Summary A season of glory as we secured the Vanarama National League North title and promotion to the fifth tier. Interestingly, in nine cup ties, seven went to a replay. Season Details League Table - We were always in the top seven though as others faltered, we remained firm and topped the table. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - After a sticky start, we found our feet and secured the title and promotion, with a game to spare. F. A. Cup - An entertaining cup run ended in the second round by Halifax Town. Every round went to a replay and we even blew a 6-1 lead to draw 6-6, before we won the second game. F. A. Trophy - Notts County proved too strong in the fifth round as they beat us in Nottingham, after the first game ended in a draw, thus forcing a replay. Pre Season Friendlies - Some decent results and performances here against some teams who are far stronger than we are. Squad - We have such a good, young and hungry squad and we are only going to improve. Squad Dynamics - As exceptional as you would expect. Transfers In 1 & 2 - I completely overhauled the squad and brought in plenty of new faces, mainly, though not exclusively, on free transfers. Transfers Out - Just the two departures for other clubs as the majority were released. Youth Candidates - An exceptional intake with Scottish striker Willie Beattie YP22A1 already good enough for the first team. Finances - We have a nice healthy bank balance as we made a profit this year. Key Players Brad Lyons - I signed the central midfielder as a backup, but his form was so good he was an automatic selection. Ethan Fitzhugh - Playing on either wing, the teenager was a goalscoring and assist machine. Jack Young - Still aged only 21, the defensive midfielder was excellent in the anchor role. Jorell Drury - An amazing season from the 17 year old , who can play either up front or on either wing. Big clubs are sniffing around him. Murray Hoffman - Club record signing at £1,000, the Australian ex Matlock Town youngster had a good campaign. Next Season I feel we can challenge for another promotion and a place in the Football League. DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2022/23 FC United of Manchester Season Summary Back to back promotions was secured in style as we ran away with the league. A decent run in the F. A. Cup was the icing on the cake. Season Details League Table - We were top for most of the season and secured the title and promotion to the Football League with four games remaining. League Fixtures 1, 2 & 3 - We were so good up to Christmas. We then lost three in a row before recovering our form and running away with it. F. A. Cup - A good run as we made it through to the third round before losing convincingly at Premier League giants Leeds United. F. A. Trophy - Unfortunately, we were eliminated in the fourth round by Aldershot Town in a replay. I expected a decent run but it did not materialise. Pre Season Friendlies - Despite arranging a tough set of games, we only lost once as the players gelled almost immediately. Squad - We have a lot of good youngsters and many of them have bigger clubs sniffing around them. Squad Dynamics - After losing three league games in a row, this was a bit dicey, though it is now where I expect it to be. Transfers In 1 & 2 - We broke our transfer record several times as I added to our squad. A lot of free transfers also arrived. Transfers Out - We had our first big sale as Jorell Drury moved to the Premier League for a seven figure fee. Youth Candidates - Another great intake with attacking midfielder Daniel Atkinson YP23A10 looking like the best of a terrific group. Finances - We made another profit, largely due to the sale of Jorell Drury. Key Players Murray Hoffman - The teenage Australian was one of our best players. Willie Beattie YP22A1 - Teenage Scottish striker who came though our academy. An amazing season where he scored 21 goals in 34 appearances. Tom Flanagan - Signed on a free transfer, the Northern Irish international central defender added some much needed experience. Phil Harmison - Still only 17 years old, the centre back was exceptional all season. Unfortunately his loan from Sunderland ends soon. Has a very bright future. Frankie Whelan - After signing on loan from Middlesbrough, the right back slotted in seamlessly. Next Season A third successive promotion? I think so. DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2023/24 FC United of Manchester Season Summary Disappointment in the cups didn't matter as we secured the title and promotion to the third tier. Season Details League Table - It took a while, though once we went top, we never relinquished it. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - Whilst we did start slowly, we found our feet and rose up the table. F. A. Cup - What a chance we blew. We once again made it through to the third round, where we drew non league Gateshead. After being held in the north east, we put in one of our worst ever displays in the replay, crashing out after losing two nil at home. Carabao Cup - A second round penalty loss away to fellow League Two side Accrington Stanley, after a goalless draw, was disappointing. Papa John's Trophy - After topping our group, we progressed all the way to the final, where we played Arsenal Under 23's. The game was very entertaining and we sneaked home by four goals to three. Pre Season Friendlies - Just the two losses in what was a good pre season campaign. Squad - Our youngsters continue to develop and with the right additions, we could challenge again. Squad Dynamics - This always seems to be great. Transfers In 1, 2 & 3 - Plenty of new arrivals, including smashing our transfer record. Transfers Out 1, 2 & 3 - Quite a few departures, mainly loanees going out, though we did have two seven figure sales. Youth Candidates - Another excellent intake with Scottish striker Andrew Harris YP24A21 looking particularly good. Finances - We still have a healthy bank balance, though this is largely due to player sales. Key Players Willie Beattie YP22A1 - Another sublime season from the academy graduate striker. Taylor Richards - Signed on a free transfer as a backup, the midfielder became an automatic selection in the second half of the season. Gordon Kerr - Teenage central defender signed on loan from Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur. Had a great year. Cristian Fabrício - Another teenager, the Brazilian Under 20 international goalkeeper arrived on a free transfer from Grêmio in January and immediately started to perform. Frank Corrigan - Club record signing at £750,000, the young winger took time to settle, though has now started to produce the goods. Next Season Is yet another promotion on the cards?
