Been playing FM since FM07 and am now starting an FM blog for FM2012 based on my experiences and knowledge gained from this forum and other sources. I can't really remember all the sources, but for those I do, I'll post links to the source rather than state what it says or theorise on my blog. Anyway, here's my blog: http://hidayat-amran.blogspot.com/
  1. Hi Guys, I can't seem to find the time to update regularly. So will post an update once I complete the challenge. Entering season 2029 now. Cheers!
  2. Season 2026 Review Knattspyrnufélag Vesturbæjar Season Review: Been a while since my last update. Have been busy with work so took a break from FM for a bit. Finally finished the season. So highlights are qualifying for the Champions League Group Stage, which brought us close to 10 mill. but we crashed out spectacularly. Was beaten left right centre. 3. Season 2025 Review Knattspyrnufélag Vesturbæjar Season Review: My first season in charged where I had little problems in my matches. Seems like my team's more or less on auto now. Notable things this season are winning the quadruple and expecting to turn full pro end of the year. Glad I did, for 2 reasons. One, he's better than Victor. Two, injury crisis. In the middle of the season, somehow my team were dropping like flies to injuries. At one point, I only had 13 players who were fit. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven. Aleksandar Stojanovic: Another solid no-nonsense season for him. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven. Kasper Bjerregaard: He was injured for quite a while this season, but he is still one of the most consistent players I have. Just wonder how long it will take for him to be natural in WBR position. I realise it takes longer on FM16. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven. 4. Finally! T-T I actually whooped out loud when they agreed. We are going Pro!
  5. Hahah wouldn't call it fighting it out. The standard is just too high at the moment even among the qualifying phases. Just trying to get decent results at the moment.
  6. Same, don't think I have it conquered yet. I mean we are still a semi-pro team compared to the other pro teams in the league. It's getting harder trying to ward off clubs trying to buy my best players.
  7. Season 2024 Review Knattspyrnufélag Vesturbæjar Season Review: Ok, there's good and there's bad this season. Good is that we won a treble. League and 2 cups. Bad is I hate my board and the club structure. My club has this weird structure whereby the board has to go through an annual election which changes the chairman. So this means that almost every year, I have to deal with a new chairman which makes it difficult to get requests approved. I'm starting to think I can never turn pro or get my scouting range upgraded unless we get taken over. Oh, and they sold my GK!! However, I think I need to replace him soon if I want to remain competitive. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven, Supporter's Player of the Year, Icelandic Team of the Year and the runner up for Fair Play Player of the Year. Aleksandar Stojanovic: Since I'm thinking of switching my RP to AP, I'll be training him as a B2B going forward. I'm actually slightly suprised he is not in the Icelandic Team of the Year, but at least he's still named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven. Kasper Bjerregaard: My new RWB to replace the one that was sold last season. I only have a slight concern with his disciplinary record but other that, he's performing really well. He's still young, so I hope he stays with us for a long time. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven and Icelandic Team of the Year. 8. Season 2023 Review Knattspyrnufélag Vesturbæjar Season Review: So here's what I did this season. After sticking to my guns on control tactics, I finally chucked it to one side. Yes, I'm a huge fan of control tactics, but I think my players are probably not too suited for it at the moment. Plenty of possession and shots, but too many off target or blocked. So, I started reading up on Cleon's attacking theory, applied it to a formation I felt was well suited for my team, and it paid dividends, though towards the end we started losing leads to late goals (will look into that). We won a double; the league and the cup. That secured us a place in the Champions League, so I expect money to come in which could help in expanding my scouting range and turning us pro. Only thing I worry about now is how badly we'll be whacked in the Champions League. Oh, and we lost our star wingback, so I really hope I can get that scouting range up. Hardly any wingback in Iceland. Board expectations: Premier Division: Top Half Media prediction: 4th Icelandic Cup: Semi-Finals Icelandic Upper League Cup: Not important Euro Cup: Can't remember. Think it was don't get outclassed. Keep forgetting this and it disappears at the end of the Icelandic season. Results: Premier Division: 1st | League Table | Player Stats Icelandic Cup: Winner Icelandic Upper League Cup: Semi-Finals Euro Cup: Second Qualifying Round Season Summary: Transfers Finances Key Performers: Viktor Karl Einarsson: Hahah. I laughed because at one point, I had no strikers available (all were out on injuries), and was forced to play him as a striker. Surprisingly, he did quite well, even scoring a few times. Made me wonder whether I should convert him to a striker but his physical stats were a bit worrying, so I decided not to. Aleksandar Stojanovic: Ever-present in the team. I would say my signing of the season. I play him as a B2B, but train him as a RP because the RP training schedule more or less covers all those needed for a B2B and I need him to play as an RP in case Viktor (my current RP) gets injured. Sam López: My RWB would have been here, if he wasn't bought over. So Sam gets the final spot this season. Don't get me wrong, this guy earned his place here. Very, very hard working and his crosses to the far post are something I like to see in games. 9. Season 2022 Review Knattspyrnufélag Vesturbæjar Season Review: We did better last season. In almost every way. So looks like I'll need to take a look at the squad and tactics again. It's not like we don't have chances, we had a lot of chances at goal, but my players just keep shooting off target. Hmm... And that's his highest in a season so far. You might think that's low, but his key passes in the league is 110, the highest in the league. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven, the Supporter's Player of the Year and in the Icelandic Team of the Year. Also awarded the Fair Play Player of the Year with 0 yellow cards and red cards in the league. Baldur Búi Heimisson: The league's runner-up Signing of the Season. Sure, his stats are not as good as my other central midfielders, but somehow he's rated better. Think it has to do with his hidden attributes. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven. Nermin Djurdjevic: His crossing is bad, but even though his role requires him to go up all the way to byline sometimes, he's rarely caught out of position. 10. Season 2021 Review Knattspyrnufélag Vesturbæjar Screenshots updated as at 30 Jan 2016. Season Review: I would say it has been a great season. A bit unlucky to have missed out on winning the league due to goal difference, but at least we qualified for the Euro Cup. Hopefully the funds from that will help us turn pro soon. Board expectations: Premier Division: Mid-Table Media prediction: 8th Icelandic Cup: Quarter-Finals Icelandic Upper League Cup: Not important Results: Premier Division: 2nd | League Table | Player Stats Icelandic Cup: Semi-Finals Icelandic Upper League Cup: Group Stage Season Summary: Transfers Finances Key Performers: Viktor Karl Einarsson: Was only out for 4 weeks this season, but other than that, has been a great player for the club. He's played in a playmaker role but instead of racking up assists, he's more involved in build up play and dragging the opponents out of position. That's what I notice, anyway. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven and the Supporter's Player of the Year. Abdel Aziz Youssef: The league's runner-up Signing of the Season. He was actually a striker, but I noticed his stats were more suited as an IF, and since my right IF is not as great as I had hoped for, I converted him to play there. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven. Ásgeir Marteinsson: Was out for 3 months this season due to a torn hamstring, but to make it into my list despite that means that he was playing quite well for most of the season. 11. Thanks. The lack of goals is a worry though. Hopefully changing the formation will help this out.
  12. Season 2020 Review Knattspyrnufélag Vesturbæjar Season Review: At one point, we almost qualified for Euro Cup. A good enough season, if I'm honest. Still a bit lacking at the front in terms of goals, but we are tighter at the back, with the new transfers covering up the leaks. Injuries and suspensions were our bane this season, and I felt we could probably have done better if we had not suffered from those often. At one point, I had to inject my keeper, something I have never done since the first time I played FM in 2007. It's such a shame as he was playing well before the injuries. Nonetheless, he was playing so well and consistently at the start of the season, breaking the KV record for the highest average rating in the Upper League Cup. Also named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven and the Supporter's Player of the Year. Ásgeir Marteinsson: Our utility man. Usually I play him in the B2B role, but due to injuries to Viktor, suspension to my DM, he has played in those roles as well. Didn't contribute as much in terms of goals this season, but I'm quite happy with his consistency. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven. Atli Fannar Jónsson: I think he's been great this season. Sure, his average rating isn't as high as Viktor's, but he was our main creative force. His performance this year was a huge improvements and his achievements are definitely merited. Named in the Icelandic Team of the Year, 3rd placed Footballer of the Year and the Seasonal Best Eleven. Youth Prospect: None worth mentioning. 13. Season 2019 Review Knattspyrnufélag Vesturbæjar Season Review: This was a loooonngg season. At one point, I was really convinced we were going to be relegated or end up somewhere there. We scored the least number of goals in the league: 19 goals. Maybe it was partly my fault, because I was tinkering my tactics a bit, but trying to get them settled into the new one. Trying to convert my midfielder into a false nine. Mentioned that I had doubts last season but this season he was great. Most PoM in the league with his consistent performances. I am also telling him to cut down on his long shots as he was attempting them too often for my liking. Supporter's Player of the Year and named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven. Andri Fannar Stefánsson: A new signing playing in the B2B role initially. He's the one I'm training to be a F9 as my striker had low anticipation and was not performing well in the role. Still awkward in the role but I hope he adjusts to it soon. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven. Atli Fannar Jónsson: Another new sigining. He was my striker. Top scorer in my team with 8 goals (T-T). Now converting him to an AML AP(s) and there's been a noticeable improvement in how involved he is in the team's build-up. 14. Season 2018 Review Knattspyrnufélag Vesturbæjar Season Review: This season was frustrating for me at times. Sure, we managed to stay up, 4 places above media expectations, but I really felt we could have done better. Some of the mistakes were really appalling and we tend to lose leads late in the game. For a period of time, we were 8 games without a win. Tweaked my tactic and formations loads of time. Finally settled on something that seems to play the kind of football I like. Board expectations: Premier Division: Try to avoid relegation Media prediction: 12th Icelandic Cup: Fourth Round Icelandic Upper League Cup: Not important Results: Premier Division: 8th | League Table | Player Stats Icelandic Cup: Semi-Finals Icelandic Upper League Cup: Semi-Finals Season Summary: Transfers Finances Key Performers: Viktor Karl Einarsson: To my club fans, his my purchase of the season. Not sure why honestly. I mean sure, he's not bad and most consistent in my team, but he wasn't superb assists wise in a playmaker role even though he has the attributes. Seems to be doing alright in a B2B role though. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven. Björn Jónsson: Back in the top 3 in the team in terms of Avg Rating (that's usually how I pick my key performers. Was sidelined a few times due to injury, but still my first choice playmaker. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven and Supporter's Player of the Year again. That's twice in a row. Bjarki Páll Eysteinsson: For his service to the club, I present him here this year. My most consistent defender, I think. But got to admit that he's starting to appear a bit overwhelmed in the league. I have plans for a replacement. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven. 15. Season 2017 Review Knattspyrnufélag Vesturbæjar Season Review: We got promoted! AND the board is going to buy our stadium! The 4-3-3 tactic worked, though I had to make it a flat 3 midfield to really press and control the middle of the pitch. Having a bit of a problem with the full backs though. Using them as FB(s) looks good but they tend to stay back, but switching them to WB(s) lets the opposition take control of the space behind them. Hmm.. Will try to figure something out. Overall, quite a satisfying season. I think he could have done better though if his finishing was better, but 15 goals in 32 matches for an AMR with his stats and in this league, I'm happy enough. Named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven, Top Goalscorer for the club AND the league, and Runner-Up Most PoM in the club and the league. Björn Jónsson: He was already in the club when I started, but it looks like he is starting to settle into his role. Still lacking in terms of assists, but his passing accuracy is probable the reason he tied with Svavar in PoM for club and league. Also named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven and Supporter's Player of the Year. Sam Hewson: I rotated him with Bjorn, though I also sometimes use him in the other 2 MC roles when I bring him on as sub. Also named in the team's Seasonal Best Eleven.
