(Good to see that the back-ups know how to get right stuck-in though). I know that the message says it's 2 cards. but I promise you it's 5. That's 5 fines before New Year. I'm pretty sure we have never managed that before. 17 hours ago, Jimbokav1971 said: 6th fine of the season. Jimbokav1971
Feb & Mar 2052. Apologies. I usually save at the beginning of a month but yesterday I was knackered and saved in the middle of the month and as a result I missed the Feb update. Premier League. We've been playing well, but we've drawn too many games and it's cost us. Only 2 losses, but also only 2 wins is really frustrating over a 2 month period. A 21st min red card against Villa definitely cost us 2 points. Despite that, we're 13 points clear of the relegation zone and that's all this season is about. I will admit that when we started winning I had delusions of romping up the table and qualifying for Europe, but I think this modest improvement is more realistic and I'm happy with that. Jimbokav1971
Apr 2052. Premier League. The draws keep coming but I can't complain as we are still 14 points ahead of the relegation zone. The draw against Arsenal was the weakest team we have fielded in ages. 10 of the starting XI came from the 50, 51 and 52 intakes. They battered us, but we held out for a brilliant 0-0. Our remaining 3 games are against Fulham, Brighton and Man Utd but we are already safe.
Jimbokav1971
May 2052. Premier League. I know we haven't won for 10 games, but honestly who cares. I've been selecting kids and not caring really, (although I did try to beat Brighton). We've stayed up by a massive 14 points.

We finished the season on 38 points and played weakened teams in 6 out of the last 7 games. 38 points would have kept us up in 2051, 2050, 2049, 2048, 2047, 2046, 2045, 2044, 2043, 2042, 2041, 2040, in fact every Premier League season since 2034, (18 years ago). Jimbokav1971
Season Summary. May 2052. Premier League. You might notice that Chelsea are no longer one of the big sides and haven't qualified for Europe in any of the last 5 seasons, (and next season will make 6). FA Cup. Survival in the Premier League was our priority. As we start to develop I will start giving higher priority to Cup competitions.. Carabao Cup. This was during a tough period for us where we couldn't buy a win. Leasing, com Trophy. (U23's). I have high hopes for our U23's in this competition in the future, but it's probably a bit early yet. I think they are capable of better right now, but perhaps not without me taking control of squad selection which I'm not prepared to do right now. Development League. (U23's). After starting off by not scoring any goals in their opening 3 games, they rallied well to win the League and the Playoffs. FA Youth Cup. U18 Premier Division Cup. We got to the Final but were surprisingly turned over by Derby. U18 Premier League. We won the league but then weren't strong enough to beat Man Utd, (winnners of the other League), in the Final. Goal-scoring keepers. 0 goals from 4 penalties is a big thing and I think confirms that (47a) Best (F.Det) * will be sold and I will go with 18 year old (50b) Okoro (NED) (F.Det) next season. Overall Best XI. Awards. Whole there wasn't a dominant Player of the Season winner which often happens when a striker scores loads of goals, it's interesting that GK (47a) Best (F.Det) * was voted in 2nd place despite missing 4 out of 4 penalties. I don't thin the fans will be happy when I sell him. Squad by Appearances. Discipline. We absolutely smashed the previous record, (in fact so did Charlton). Our 1st choice right back, left winger and right winger are all on the yellow card list, and the only reason our 1st choice left back isn't there is because of so much rotation. Finances. We've got over £100M in the bank for the 1st time in the save. Income. £9.5M in Premier League prize money and a whopping £104M in Premier League TV revenue. As long as we stay in the Premier League I don't think we are ever going to have money problems. Expenditure. Facilities. The Youth Recruitment is stuck on Level 19 and I'm waiting for "something" to pop but I'm not sure what. It's probably reputation so we will keep an eye on that. Transfers. Tracker. I don't think the USA move was good for him and I think his development has suffered as a result. It will be interesting to see how much, (if anything), I can get out of him. I thought he was going to be amazing when I sold him. The truth is that he's not worth £40M. I'm not going to try and pretend that he is, but when you have so few players in the pool to buy from, he probably is worth £40M to us. It's interesting that although we never got our £14M for his 50% sale from Atlanta to Porto, we have had the 50% clause activated since then when payments are made. Jimbokav1971
Summer Transfer Window. Sep 2052. (44d) Gough (LIB)(F.Amb)6'2" did well for us when called upon, but he's not Premier League level and there is no point pretending that he is. We are better off playing a poorer player with better PA and improving them. I doubt if letting him leave will cause us to get relegated. (44i) McDonald (GUY) (F.Pro) * is a player that I really liked in the past, but he was always behind even better players in the left hand side position. I've loaned him out for the last 3 seasons but it's time for him to move on. (43f) Fabian (JAM) (Pro) * is a GK who 1st choice GK for a couple of seasons, but who has seen much better players come through since then and was 3rd choice at best. It made sense to cash in on him. (51o) NdM (BEL) (Pro) is a really strange one, because he's actually a player that I really like, but for a few reasons has never been given a chance. To start off with he's a small left winger, and anyone paying attention will know that I'm squeezing "big" players in there to try and take advantage of their size via set pieces. In addition to that he was (51o) meaning that he came through ranked 15 of 16 in that intake. I was keeping an eye on the reports, (in the hope that it changed), and although it did change, it didn't change enough to warrant finding a place for him. I've sold him for a modest £200k (rising to £600k), but it will be interesting to look back in future seasons and see did we get this one wrong. (47h) Munton (Spirit) ML * was a player I was never overly keen on, even when he was playing. He played almost 100 league games for us, but I was always looking for someone better to come in . Now I feel I'm able to cash in on him and move him on. The fact that I got such decent money for him, (and the fact that he's had a decent start at MK Dons in the Championship), suggests that the problem was mine and not his. (39a) Harri (M.Pro) * was an actual Icon for us. Our all-time record goal-scorer with 252 goals and also all-time record league goal-scorer with 216 league goals. The problem is that he was way off the pace last season and although I wanted to keep him around for mentoring purposes, (and for our rotated squad), he wasn't interested in negotiating a new contract and left on a free. He will surely continue scoring goals at a lower level soon, (although I'm astonished that nobody has signed him up yet). I know he only scored 2 Premier League goals last season, but I'm personally delighted that he scored at least 1 because it meant that he scored at every level from Conference National to Premier League. Brilliant stuff.
Jimbokav1971
Aug 2052. Premier League. It's been a tough start to the season but Chelsea were much better than last season and Wolves are just a big big big club now. We should have beaten Leicester and should have hammered West Brom, but they scored and we didn't. I'm on my first proper FM20 save after having played FM07 for so long, and on that version players didn't tend to accumulate anywhere near as much fatigue. Copying your rotation policy and playing the second string for the harder games has definitely helped me gain some unexpected results.
Jimbokav1971
Oct 2052. Premier League. We grab our 1st and 2nd wins of the season to drag ourselves clear of the relegation. Importantly too, we we also have 2 games in hand. (Remember that we are ground-sharing with MK Dons and our fixtures are sometimes re-scheduled as a result). Glad the rotation strategy is working for you. I think that playing weaker players is a strategy often over-looked by FM players.
Jimbokav1971
2nd fine of the season. Oct 2052. 6 yellows is fine, but a 43rd min red card isn't. We lost.
Jimbokav1971
Nov 2052. Premier League. Only 1 win, but it's against one of the teams around us and keeps us out of the relegation zone. We still also have 1 game in hand on Leeds and 2 games on everyone else. Jimbokav1971
3rd fine of the season. Dec 2052. Again, 6 yellows is fine, but a 12th min red card is tough, especially against Man City. We lost.
