Even so, disappointing to not be able to win any games in the cups. With two stalwarts retiring, next year will be a big test. A big issue is that there have barely been any usable striker newgens so far, which is why Muñoz still played so many games. Less worried about the right-back position. Predicted to finish last again, but at least some better odds this time around. August - September 2022 A very peculiar start to the season... honestly not even that bad, just strange. Top half and a positive balance (wins over losses, goal difference)! There's definitely some good players here, well, relatively speaking. Quite varied bunch of personalities. MarcxD Posted May 23, 2019 Author Share Posted May 23, 2019 2022 - 2023 Season Review Pretty happy with the season, as we are clearly outclassed against the top teams of the league mid-table is good for now. For some reason we didn't play in any cup this year. Every year players from the academy get more minutes, and next year will be a big one, as Josu, Alcover and Noguera will leave the team. That means only two players will remain that I didn't get through an intake: Jaume Villar and Kamal El Harrak. Sadly, Guille Cuellar has been steadfastly rejecting all my contract offers, so as long as that won't change in the next 2 months he will leave the club on a free. He will definitely be missed if he goes. This shows nicely what is probably the biggest issue right now: goalscorers. Eduardo being joint top goalscorer in midfield is not ideal... Alturo is really an AML but even so he is still doing better than Ramón, the actual striker. Once again rated at the bottom of the league, with the lowest possible odds... September 2023 Busy opening month, and more or less doing the same as last year. A friendly against the senior side of Athletic Bilbao, not that bad of a result really against such a strong team! Some very good financial news. This should definitely help, finally getting out of the red maybe and maybe the board will allow an upgrade in the not too distant future... Certainly a great starting position for the rest of the season, but a long way from qualifying for the play-offs, which I still find unlikely. Hercules going really well, so they are definitely favorites for the title. No super star from the intake like last year - especially with one of the top players being a GK again. To be fair, we have nothing to do in the segunda, but it would've been amazing for the club if only financially. Villar's spot in the first 11 is no longer automatically guaranteed as yoth defenders Ezequiel, Domenech, Asensio and Oliver compete with him for playing time. Sanchez missed a few games because he has been called up for the Spanish u-19s! He does not want to sign a pro contract ( so far), with multiple teams offering some money to buy him but nothing crazy yet - allowing me to reject those offers. The other big talent, Ballesté, only has one year left on his deal which stupidly has no extension clause so I will have to hope he will want to sign at some point in the next year or he'll leave on a free, which would be a very big loss. Eduardo just ahead still on the top goalscorer of all-time list, with Ballesté set to overtake him after next season. Jordi also closing in on the apps, as Eduardo has more competition for the central midfield positions than he does at left back. 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not exactly the most convincing pre-season ever, but we did get the wins for morale. August - September Bad start, but wow what a september. 6 straight wins without conceding, and four of those were away games as well. Won two cup games for the first time! 1 team on 14 points and 7 on 13 after 6 games. Could be another interesting season... if we can keep this up! Of course a shame that we'll go out now, but it's fantastic for finances! Especially as in the 4th round we play a home and an away game. Ballesté really saving us right now. Of course we lost to Atlético but after those cup games we are about 800K in the green. Not enough to turn pro again, but good enough for some upgrades...
