Northernpilgrim
But we managed to see the job through in the second leg to make it through to the final

Northernpilgrim
I set up what I thought was a challenging preseason, with a couple of easy games against local teams to finish off and build confidence for the new season. I certainly wasn't expecting it to go this well and we were certainly busy in the transfer market, making 8 signings

Northernpilgrim
We made a pretty decent start to the season, winning five of our first seven league games. Unusually, the league season kicked off in July, but as there was only one game, I've included it in my August review and that was enough to end August top of the league winning me my first Manager of the Month at Argyle
Northernpilgrim
Swindon away was really annoying, as we were absolutely awful. Cambridge away was frustrating, as we let slip a 3-1 lead by conceding two late goals
Northernpilgrim
Not a brilliant September but we remain in the automatic promotion spots
Northernpilgrim
We were one match away from a perfect October and that defeat to Barnet means Swindon have opened up a bit of a gap at the top. We remain second, but it's tight behind us
Northernpilgrim
Our only defeat in November was in the cup, and 7 points out of 9 in the league was not bad. We also lost on penalties to Cambridge and end the month still second, the gap now 7 points but we won our Checkatrade Trophy group, and will face Exeter in the next round

Northernpilgrim
An unbeaten month in the league in December, but cup disappointment against our fiercest rivals leaves us second in the table, four clear of third place, with a home game against leaders Swindon next up. We must win to have any chance of landing the title
Hootieleece
Would a takeover be a good thing? Financially at least. Is Plymouth a fans club?

Well there isn't much money around the club at the moment, so it can't make it worse. Not a fan owned club as such, but owner Simon Hallett is a fan and grew up in the city. He lives in America now though.

Hootieleece
I always like my Fullbacks/wingbacks to have a little more crossing ability...but not bad since I guess this is why you were shipping goals in January. (I often retrain wide midfielders and defensive wingers) Shocking Loss to GRIMSBY!
Northernpilgrim
Two wins from 4 in Feb, and a shocking defeat to Exeter which keeps us second, but means we still have a lot to do to secure promotion

Northernpilgrim
The first leg of the semi final was a belter. We held a two goal lead on two occasions but would that be enough? Hootieleece
Congratulations on Promotion! Is the squad ready for League One? I always find it the hardest to win and the easiest to get relegated from, because a lot of teams loan quality players with lots of flair and Deadball skills. Northernpilgrim
In truth I wanted a couple more players, a winger and a striker would have been great. I'll keep trying, but due to funds and the fact the transfer window is now closed, it'll have to be a loan or an unattached player.
