baggiez Posted March 29, 2022 Share Posted March 29, 2022 (edited) Looking across the Knap tactics table the vast majority of the best tactics for FM22 (and FM20 & FM21) are based on the same principles: In possession: Shorter Passing, Play out of defence, Run at defence, Work Ball into Box, Low Crosses etc. Out of possession: Offside Trap, Extremely high defensive line, Much higher lines of engagement, Extremely urgent pressing, Get stuck in, Tighter marking & Prevent GK distribution, etc. Have there been any major changes to the match engine this year? Are there alternative ways to approach tactics and find success, i.e. low defensive line and direct football? I'm desperate to do a Big Sam and make it work. There was one tactic marked as 'Direct' which was called GOODBYE but that has Shorter Passing, Work Ball Into Box, Play Out from the back, etc. so it's not really Big Sam stuff. But as first time im seeing that, it looks kinda very attack minded tactic, it may not work as a shutter or use it to bore opponent. Maybe tweaked into that kind of thing with support IFs or DWsups ?
