Have you ever done a really defensive based tactic ? I really don't enjoy the 3 strikers formations and 130 goals a year formations as they are not realistic to me.

I'm a Juventus fan and i would really like to play a formation wich break records defensively, like your team is known as a fortress.

Thanks mate, i will play with both for a season to test it out wich one is the most solid defensively.

Wich one of "The Wall 4141" and "White Europe away 451" offers the best result in your opinion ?

Just saw that 'Rough guide as what tactics to use'. I might have missed it, but don't you have sub top tactic for a team like Fiorentina with 3 forwards and 4 defenders? The only ones with 3 forwards i found had 3 CB's.

It is based on past experience and feedback, so if you did well with Florentino I would add a 433 into sub top. In general a 343 will be a more defensive formation than 433.

Decided to do a mashup of how i had hammerhead into this, with 2 sitting midfielders, and KDB in an AP-Support role. ... amazing front line in this one, was 5-0 up by half time in the Manchester Derby. Aguero lethal.

Played out the second half on retain posession & control.  (my squad has a few injuries i needed to save the legs).  still bagged another though :p   Might see if i can tweak the DMC one into a time waste version

In theory the best Away tactic would be the highest point scoring.

I would tend to use ARGUS 343 as an Away tactic perhaps on counter. However, as a negative defensive tactic changing ARGUS to this formation may be an option

Makes sense thanks! For some reason im getting way better results with the Blue Matter 343 than with this one. Spurs and Arsenal just happen to have very good AMC's so i like to use AMC :D Might just migrate to the BM 343 and use ARGUS 343 as the away tactic

Hey knap! You give a lot of suggestions based on what you feel is the best or based on what others have come back with. I'd love to hear how you personally play the game, whether that be FMT or full fat?

Do you have a typical home and away set, or do you just use one tactic and make tweaks as you go? Perhaps you just purely plug and play and never change a thing?

I just use 1 tactic, and I only change if down to 10 when I may use a SUS.

Whats the best SUS tactic? When you are down to 10 what do tou do? Ive been using the bluematter 433 and my CB's  see a red card every 2 games...

The formation above should be good for a SUS without a MC if down to 10. Mentality can be dropped to contain with time wasting. Defensive is also a good mentality.

I first used Knaps 4213 in online save deep into 2026. I made these 2 tweaks for attacking and control mentality. Tweaks involved player instructions to suit my players strengths.

As I have mentioned, I am doing maxing out tests, i.e trying to dominate as much as possible and break the performance boundaries. This was about maxing out goals in the 38 games of the EPL. So its not tested on any of the starting teams or any of the sub-top or underdog categories. So use with care. My aim is to put it on MrL tactics testing to see what will produce.

So, I tested just the attacking tactic by simming the save file all year (holidays, same tactic, same lineup, made about 4-5 stops throughout the season for conditioning any unhappiness) and produced 150 goals in 38 EPL games.

I also played game-by-game the same online save, same season with same team also Vs 2 other human players and I used a mix of the attacking and control tweaked tactic and got 167 goals in 38 EPL games.

Defence looks solid but my def players were top class especially in positioning and tackling.  Definitely requires top class players to get it working so good. For example, you probably never tried to find an AM with good aggression but I wanted one so that he can effectively press and tackle opposition mids to get the ball back.

Treat with care and let me know what these tweaks produce for your team.

(both tactics files attached here)

For a nearly standard original squad even for a top team not losing is close to a perfect season, as you still have to win against the top teams. However you also have to be lucky.

I would say that the 451 4231 and 4213 can all use the same squad of players so gives a multi formation possibility.

Hey knap, can you please please please share this tactic? Are there any PIs for Anchor, Wingers etc? Thanks a lot in advance.

I am using your new Pilgrimage 451. And this one would go very well with that one.

All I do is take the original tactic and move to the positions, as it is just for part of a game. I do not make any PI changes just leave as they are after the position has been moved.
