January Update

First off we are going to look at the World Awards from previous years that i've missed and this seasons awards. I'm adding the World Team Of The Year Substitute award aswell because it is such a big award. The Sub award will be half the points of being in the first 11. Here are the awards, including this year...

Unfortunately and strangely, we didn't even have a player in the first 11 of the World Team, never mind in the top 3 of the World Golden Ball and World Player Of The Year. I don't know how the game works out who is shortlisted, but it has seemed very unrealistic to me and maybe something I will take up with SI.

We've had zero noteworthy points to make throughout January, so we will have to look towards the end of the season now! Our players are 30 years old now aswell, so we aren't far away from a possible retirement! We are already seeing players retire from International football and i'm sure that will continue over the next few years. I'd expect to see a full retirement between 2 to 4 years from now.

Haha, yeah I can see your point But on a serious note, no disrespect to Ben Goldsmith, but he was getting shortlisted for the World Golden Ball several times with average ratings under 7.00 and not even scoring much. You would have thought it would have picked someone like Gypsum Fantastic or Edoardo Lorenzo and even Juan Coco Luis Pereira. If Edoardo Lorenzo has been the striker in the first 11 of the World Team, then why wouldn't he have been at least shortlisted for the World Golden Ball? This year is the first time it has seemed slightly realistic...

Pretty sure Gypsum's lead will go soon. Can't stay up there all the time the club isn't winning things, and he doesn't get recognised for awards. Still banging in the goals though!

Summer Transfer Window Update

Nothing much to note for the summer window...

Jim Bowman has been recalled to the USA squad and has made 183 appearances so far. Only 17 more to gain big points!
Ignjatije Uljarevic has become Montenegro's all-time goalscorer after his 50th goal against Finland in a friendly!
After two years of frustration, making 8 appearances in 2024/2025 season and 0 appearances last season, Nick Adam has been released by Girondins Bordeaux!!! So far, no team has shown an interest in signing Nick.

So that's it for this transfer window, quiet as always, but Nick Adam will be hoping he can find a new club quick, or it could end up being the first retirement! The World Cup update will come next. I'll be doing the group stages tonight and the rest of the tournament tomorrow.

Juan Coco Luis Pereira didn't have the best of games and neither did Portugal.

David Ginsberg didn't play well and we saw his frustration through his yellow card offence!

Juan Coco Luis Pereira had a horrible time on the pitch and adds to the dissapointment so far. David Ginsberg on the other hand, had a good game, but Israel were unfortunate to lose.

Davatzis picks up Man Of The Match yet again as Greece beat Burkina Faso. Greece are looking very strong!

Davatzis has picked up a knock, but was able to stay on the pitch. He didn't have the best of games, but Greece are through with maximum points!

Greece 2 - 1 Sweden

Davatzis wasn't part of the squad today, due to his injury picked up against France.

World Cup Final!!!

GREECE 1 - 0 AUSTRALIA [Extra Time] (Davatzis)

Greece were struggling against Australia, but were boosted big time by Davatzis who managed to make the bench after missing the last 3 matches!!! He was brought on in the 78th minute and Australia held out for extra time. Davatzis was the man of the moment in the 107th minute when he tooked away a fine strike!!! He picked up another injury, but wont care one bit as Greece are WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!

Yeah, Jaziri is really starting to hit form with Liverpool. Tunisia won in 2017 and came 2nd in 2025. They are currently in the Semi-Final right now and will face either Nigeria or Angola, who are both suppose to be better teams. Tunisia are ranked 23rd, whilst Nigeria are 19th and Angola are 22nd. If you gained any points from the 2017 win, I would have added them, it's only in the past 4 years I haven't added points yet.

First off, i'd like to talk about the World Awards. I've had a reply off Neil Brock regarding the issue that i've raised and we probably wont see any of our players win the 2 big awards. Apparently they are in agreement with me that the reputation levels are too high. You can find his reply Here.

Despite the probability being low, I thought i'd give a mention to Edoardo Lorenzo and Juan Coco Luis Pereira who have both been nominated for the World Golden Ball this season.

Unfortunately the league isn't loaded. I've got it set up for next season, but thats best I can do and knowing my luck you will be promoted and we wont need it... That's only problem with having to wait a season untill the league is loaded into the game. I removed it previously because FM was using a lot of memory and it helps reduce it.

End Of Season 2026/2027 Report

Big News... Nick Adam has decided to retire from football at the age of 31! This is our first retirement and you could probably see it coming after two bad seasons in terms of being un-wanted by his club. On July 1st 2026, Nick Adam left the club after his contract had run out and despite minor interest from a lower league Spanish team, was unable to find a club. Nick Adam felt that he had been out of the game for too long and it was time to call it a day. Since retiring, he has decided not to carry on in football and is looking to find a career elsewhere.
