Domoboy23
Any chance? About 20-30% of users are all experiencing crash dumps at random intervals during the game making it unplayable. Every hour there are about 7 new threads in the technical issues forum all experiencing the same problem. The advice given? Add FM to the exceptions in the firewall, update your drivers, being referred to the FAQ's, post your dxdiag. It hasn't worked a single time for a single person. I personally have re-installed Steam, and FM three times today. And yet still on my save game it crash dumps every time i click on player search/preferences/team meeting etc. It also happens on all new games. Whereas before the crash dumps were just random. It seems like a system versus game error. Now before anyone says i'm trying to slag off SI or FM i'm not. I am frustrated yes, because from my first 6 hours of playing FM12 I have been impressed. I'm raring to go and get on with my game, yet i can't. I'm just requesting that some form of statement/advice is made rather then people making a thread, being given the same advice that doesn't work and therefore going round in circles. bobw
Go back to FM11 That's what I've done. Hit them in the pocket and refuse to pay for unacceptable merchandise that doesn't do what it says on the tin Might sound harsh but SI see themselves as a business and they've had a year to make the game and do all the testing. I'm not dissing them either but that's more than enough time to fix issues, bugs, crash dumps etc. Obviously they only people that will disagree with this are the people without problems but my guess is those people have spent thousends of pounds on a pc to not have the problems. Why should we have to spend silly money to play a game?

xdoomriderx
I have been running the game since last night (I'm on EST) on a PC that is 5 years old and I have not encountered a single error.
Wakers
Don't be daft. If it were 20-30% then the forums would be absolutely flooded. As it is, less than 50 have reported the problem. Basically, be patient and post in the bugs forum. If you've already done that than just be patient, and follow any advice you are given.

Chris Ritchie
Are you going to help get it fixed by posting saves in the Bugs forum?

It's not really rocket science. It's not great the game is crashing, but it's obviously gotten through testing (har har) so you'll have to wait a little bit. In the end it might not be anything to do with anything SI have done, but something that is wrong with your system, or there may be a conflicting piece of software that they haven't come across before. Those reporting issues actually probably account for less than 1%, if not even less than 0.5%. But let's see if we can help you and get you back up and running. If the game was working fine for six hours, then something has become corrupted somewhere or other on your machine that's causing this. Can you explain exactly what happened, and what's happening, and exactly what you've tried to resolve it? Have you tried clearing your 'game' cache, settings files and verified the integrity of the cache via Steam? These would be the first places to start, as it's possible something there has become corrupt somehow. Have you installed any custom third party content, like graphics packs and pictures? If so, you ought to try and remove these to see if it's related. Are you able to start a brand new game, and if so, does the problem still occur when it's from a new game rather than just the isolated save that you speak about? Are you able to start a brand new game, and if so, does the problem still occur when it's from a new game rather than just the isolated save that you speak about? For the 6 hours i did play it i would say i encountered around about 5 random crash dump errors. But i was able to re-load and continue playing. Last night after the first dump i verified the integrity via steam. It came back fine. I then kept on encountering the dumps. Then today my game crashed dumped again when i clicked on 'player search'. I expected this to be a random crash dump, but it happened again, then again, and i soon realised it happened on my save (and my other two rolling saves) whenever i clicked on something like team meeting/preferences/search etc. I then deleted all files in the steam folder except the blob, .exe and the steamapps. I encountered the same problem. I then update my drivers to no avail. My firewall has FM as an exception as does DEP. In a last ditch attempt i decided to delete FM on steam, and re-install. 4 hours later it had installed. I had the same problem on each save. I then started a new game, which encounters exactly the same problem. I have read each FAQ and followed each step, to again no avail. I have also re-installed again. I have not installed any graphic packs, or even opened the editor. I did try and upload the save onto the tpf, but it wont let me drag and drop it in. Neil Dejyothin
For the 6 hours i did play it i would say i encountered around about 5 random crash dump errors. But i was able to re-load and continue playing.Last night after the first dump i verified the integrity via steam. Kriss
What anti virus do you have installed? Exception Code: c0000005 generally indicates a conflict with AV or sometimes things like tool bars even.

Wiitastic
What anti virus do you have installed?Exception Code: c0000005 generally indicates a conflict with AV or sometimes things like tool bars even. exactly what I was thinking. He should disable his Anti Virus whilst playing FM and see if that changes things. I know it's worked in the past
Kriss
Please add “FM.exe” to the list of exclusions within your security software. If this alone doesn't work we would suggest adding the entire Steam folder to the list of exclusions.

The only firewall i have is the pre-installed windows defender and that's always turned off! Steam.exe, the steam folder, and fm.exe were already an exception. I've also deleted all toolbarr add-on's i can see, and any old virus software but still to no avail im afraid! Thanks for the heads up though. Domoboy23
Did you upgrade your machine at any point, or did it come with 6GB RAM? It came with the 6GB of RAM. I haven't performed any other uprades on it either. The demo worked fine on the PC by the way. As did and does FM 11.
Domoboy23
Just to let people with simmilar crash dump problems know... Neil Brock said: Okay try the following - first of all right-click on Football Manager in Steam and click 'Delete Local Content' Then delete the following - http://community.sigames.com/showthr...=1#post7184731 Once this is done disable your anti-virus if you have one. Re-install the game Try and run it - let me know how you get on, you should be fine to re-enable your anti virus now. I also: Right-click on your desktop and go to the Nvidia control panel - in here make sure that under 3D settings that your system is not set to auto and instead is running the stronger of your two graphics cards. Do this and try and run the game. Let me know how you get on, thanks. Now my game is working fine!
