Oct - Dec - The Festive Season

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdhd0VCKwMeh5_w5CcqAqSP6YaapxHUC4xmKmu0ch6Eb_gtVMJ&t=1

Welcome to a special episode of "Future Stars" Where we cover the progress of our youngsters over the last three months of the season (Oct, Nov, Dec). Will it be a merry christmas for our young stars or will it be a holiday from hell.

This time we are going to start out looking at the most expensive player, Mr Ihsaan. His value may have gone down slightly, but the young star is still performing well in the U18 team for Manchester United. It may be a while yet before he breaks into the first team, but with a decent return of 4 goals in 8 games its not all doom and gloom for this youngster. He is available for loan but strangely enough there have been no offers for him yet.

Ihsaan Profile

The next highest valued player is Buzzasto Da Silva whose season is surely looking brighter again. With another 4 starts and a sub appearance to his name, this all despite an injury which kept him out for just over a week. These games resulted in a first league goal of the season in a dissapointing 2-1 loss against Real Sociedad. Valencia are however 3rd in the league, and Buzzasto may play a part in their push to challenge the big 2 in Spain. In International news Da Silva did claim a rare draw for Andorra, as he scored his nations only goal in the 1-1 friendly draw against Wales.

Da Silva Profile

Next is Le Sulk valued at £4.5million, this youngster was having a slightly better season, until Injury hit YET AGAIN. A hip injury ruling the young frenchman out from the middle of October until the end of Jan, which will scupper any chances of a transfer.

Le Sulk Profile

Matthew Cooper our only full back comes in 4th when looking at value. The youngster is still playing regularly for Aston Villa and has started 14 out of the 20 matches they have played in the league. He has been one of the highlights in a drab season that sees Villa currently in 15th. A poor run of form prompted Laudrups depature, and it took a month and half for Randy Lerner to get a new manager in, the man for the job was Gary McAllister. Since his arrival Villa have 5 points from 9 possible, however Cooper has not impressed, was called off in his first match under McAllister after a dissapointing 45 minutes, and recieved 2 yellow cards in the first 20 minutes of the subsequent match. He has however decided that McAllister is the man to take the club forward and has signed a new contract with the club, which sees him take home £18,000 per week, and ties him to the club until 2014.

Cooper Profile

Kesina has not had so much luck, being moved down into the reserves, but has been playing well in the few matches he has appeared in. Prehaps the most astonishing match was a 3-1 reserve win over Nottingham Forest reserves, in which the 3 goal scorers were Kesina, Bunday and Long Tym Toon.

Unfortunately since the middle of november Kesina has been injured and is on the physio table until mid-late January with a torn hamstring.

Kesina Profile

Andrew Poole is in his first year at City, and is playing for the reserve team and was having not much luck. However recently he has found form, playing 3 reserve games since October and scoring a goal in each. He is currently fighting for the right wing position against fellow reserve team winger Shaun Wright-Phillips. He is available for loan, but as of yet no luck.

Poole Profile

King Tikki-Man has slightly improved his poor start to first team football, with a further 6 league games for Woves. He is yet to score a goal and can not seem to emulate the form he had previously shown for the reserve team. With just under half his teams league games resulting in starts for Tikki-Man he must be happy with his improved status in the team, even if his form has not been good.

Tikki-Man Profile

Well thats it for this installment of Future Stars, join us again next time when we look at the other 7 of our future stars.

Well that is it for tonight as i have to go out for a posh meal :) So will try to do the second half tomorrow before i go off to Argentina for a long weekend. Will be back Tuesday.

Please comment and let me know how you think your player is doing, and answer the following questions;

  1. Who do you think will be the next to be subject to a Transfer?
  2. By the end of the season who do you think will be win the 2nd Future Star of the year?
  3. Who do you think has the least chance to make it big? (Don't be too mean though ;) )
  4. Who do you think in the next update will have a nice change of fortunes?

Well, revolving door exists at Villa atm, good to see I'm playing regularly but disappointed with the first red card :@

With the questions posed, I find it too close to call with regards to FSOTY and it seems as if players seem settled at their clubs.

No comment on player fortunes. :p

Not sure how King Tikki-Man has made so many starts since he has not excelled. I can only assume that Wolves are really struggling.

Matthew Cooper is doing very well, must have the most appearances amongst all the players

Oct - Dec - The Festive Season - Pt2

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdhd0VCKwMeh5_w5CcqAqSP6YaapxHUC4xmKmu0ch6Eb_gtVMJ&t=1

Welcome to a special episode of "Future Stars" Where we cover the progress of our youngsters over the last three months of the season (Oct, Nov, Dec). Will it be a merry christmas for our young stars or will it be a holiday from hell.

Well tonight we are going to start with the player who has probably had the biggest change of fortunes, and has thoroughly impressed everyone here at Sky Sports. Mizengo Mapinduzi, has had a pretty average to poor first season, and a move to Lyon looked to settle him as he played twice scoring a goal. However not in the first team plans Mizengo was loaned out to Vannes OC (2nd Oct) and has been nothing short of inspirational. Scoring 10 goals in 12 starts (plus a sub appearance) which is the best ratio for any of our stars playing for a senior squad.

With a few assists and 2 MOM awards, this could be a huge year for the young Tanzania international.

Mapinduzi Profile

The next player we are looking at has also had a change of fortune although it has not been as dramatic. James Sheriff was having a pretty tough time on loan at Bristol City, but has improved his game, and in the last 5 games he has shown he has the class to perform in this league, with 4 goals and an average rating of 6.96, including a vital goal against Liverpool at Anfield which earned City a precious draw. He has also impressed his manager in a MOM performance and a penalty goal in the 2-1 win over burnley in a relagation battle.

Sheriff Profile

Alan Juel Hansen is a player whose fortunes have not changed so much. Still not really shining for Celta, but at least meeting his previous seasons goal tally of 4, with less than half the games played. He has slightly improved his performances, now at an average of 6.56, but still is not performing as well as he undoubtedly can.

His highlight so far this season is probably scoring the winner in a 2-1 victory over promotion hopefuls Osasuna, after only being on the pitch for 5 minutes.

Hansen Profile

Over to the new home of almost a third of our youngsters, Stamford Bridge. Bunday was probably the most promising in terms of performance of our Chelsea boys. Still playing well for the U18 sqaud with 7 goals in 11 appearances. Which again earned him another chance in the league cup. Where to be quite frank he had a stinker. A 5.6 rating before he was taken off on 69 minutes to be replaced by fellow Future Star member Al Gaddafi, who played slightly better with a 6.4 rating. Still available for loan with no interest.

Bunday Profile

Gaddafi has also been doing well in the U18 squad with 9 goals in 20 games, and has also had a taste of european football in the champions league tie with Genk, after replacing Malouda after 40 minutes. A 6.5 rating may not create any headlines but the experience will be good for the youngster. Still available for loan with no interest.

Gaddafi Profile

Our final Chelsea boy Long Tym Toon is the only one who can claim to have not been given a real chance. Not yet used in the first team Toon is also available for loan with no interest as of yet. He has however been playing for the reserves and U18s where he has managed 2 goals and a 7.32 rating in the 9 appearances (2 as sub) that he has had so far. A damaged foot kept him out for most of the festive period (14th - 28th Dec) and he has just got back to full match fitness.

Toon Profile

Last but not least our Future Star of the Year Chuck Noise, who has once again had a great start to the season. In 8 Champions League matches he has impressed everyone, and after a MOM performance in a 2-2 draw with Club Brugge, Adrie Koster the Brugge manager stated that Noise was key and played well which disrupted their game plan.

He now also has 12 league games with 2 goals an an average rating of 7.71, and is a continual star for the Belgian first team and now has 9 caps.

Could he once again go on to win Future Star of the Year?

Noise Profile

Well folks once again it is that time, and we will hopefully see you all again next episode, which will be back after a short break, on the 7th June.

Jan - The Transfer Window

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdhd0VCKwMeh5_w5CcqAqSP6YaapxHUC4xmKmu0ch6Eb_gtVMJ&t=1

Welcome to Sky Sports Future Stars. Today we are looking at the movers and shakers in the january transfer window. Which stars have made a new home for themselves and who is looking to show the world their talents.

We start of with the player to have made the biggest impact this season Mizengo Mapinduzi. He has continued his incredible form for Vannes and seems to be setting the french league on fire. 16 goals from 19 starts and this youngster will no doubt be one of the bargains of the season if not the century. Certainly has a bright future if he continues to improve at this dramatic pace.

Will be on loan until the end of the season but surely if he keeps this up he will be knocking on the first team door at OL.

Mapinduzi Profile

Next up a consistent performer in Chuck Noise, the young belgian player was recently named in the Belgian 11 of the year. Consisten for both club and country. The only thing that was a surprise was the fact that Noise was not subject to any transfer bids during the transfer window. he was however consistent in keeping up his superb average rating, tackling and passing stats during this month.

Noise Profile

Off to stamford bridge where we visit our 4 young stars. Well we would, however Karim Al-Gaddafis move to Vitesse, on loan, puts him a little further afield and will surely give him some great opportunities to prove himself at senior level. The youngster has made an immediate impact, scoring a goal in the 3 games he has played so far and having a decent average rating of 6.70.

Gaddafi Profile

Kesina may be another one of the Chelsea lads, but he is yet to move clubs. He will however be delighted at being named in the slovenian national team best 11, and his tally of 2 goals in 6 international appearances will be one he will be proud of. Still just a reserve player at club level Kesina will hope that he does not stagnate there for too much longer.

Kesina Profile

Bunday also did not get a move on loan, but despite this he has been continuing to play well for the reserves scoring another goal in the only match the reserves had this month, a 2-2 draw with wolves. Bunday continues to show a natural knack for getting the ball into the back of the net, but has failed to make the step up to the first team in the two chances he has been given. Where is the place for this youngster? Only time will tell.

Bunday Profile

Our final Chelsea player Long Tym Toon has had a similar experience so far, languishing in the reserves and hoping to go out on loan. He played well in the aforementioned Wolves Vs Chelsea reserve match, but apart from that he has had to sit and wait by the phone for the whole of January, unfortunately for him the call did not come.

Toon Profile

To Manchester next and our current Most Expensive Star. Mr Ihsaan has been touted as a similar play to Berbatov, we still do not know if that means he is Lazy, who has the touch of a genius. He has however been given some first time action this month, with an appearance in the Fa Cup 3rd round.

He will however want to forget this experience as it ended in an embarassing 3-0 loss againts Barnsley.(If you remember rightly they have become a bit of a bogey team for our future stars)

Ihsaan Profile

Finally some first-team action!

Yep, and i believe that is the sort of place where he could do quite well, gain some experience and then look for a move. As TBH i think it will be a few years before anyone can break into any of the TOP teams starting line ups.

Jan - The Transfer Window - Pt 2

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdhd0VCKwMeh5_w5CcqAqSP6YaapxHUC4xmKmu0ch6Eb_gtVMJ&t=1

Welcome to Sky Sports Future Stars. Today we are looking at the movers and shakers in the january transfer window. Which stars have made a new home for themselves and who is looking to show the world their talents.

Firstly we go to a player who has had a reversal of fortunes in the wrong way. Andrew Poole was starting to become one of the most talked about players on the Future Stars roster. A season at Charlton where he clearly showed some exciting talents, has now been followed by half a season in Manchester Citys reserve team. Where although he has played to a good standard he has been nowhere near as impressive as he was at Charlton.

Poole Profile

Another player in a blue shirt is Alan Juel Hansen, who is still playing at a Celta side who are trying to reach Liga BBVA once again. He has played in each of Celtas games this month, and will be most impressed by his 7.9 performance against promotion favourites Valladolid, where he scored and set up a goal. That goal means that he has already improved upon his return of 4 goal in 29 appearances from last season.

Celta are 15th in a very tight league, but with league leaders Osasuna only 10 points away a good run of form could sling any time right up the table.

Hansen Profile

King Tikki Man has continued to play for Wolves in what seems to be a rotation system. Starting 2 of wolves 5 games this month, playing poor in the 4-0 loss to Manchester United, and playing an average game in the 3-1 win against Everton. Wolves are currently looking safe in 11th.

Tikki Man Profile

A player whose team is not looking so safe is Aston Villas Matthew Cooper, who lay in 17th after 3 straight losses. Cooper played in 3 out of the 4 matches this month, and played well with an average 7.1 rating for the month. However the worrying sign maybe that he was left out of the most recent match this month a 0-4 loss against Manchester United.

Could Villa soon be moving on to their 4th manager since Cooper has been there, if this form continues they may well be.

Cooper Profile

Nothing much to say about Le Sulk. He ruled himself out of any transfers due to his long term Hip Injury. Still has a few weeks until he will be back in action, in what looks to be an injury hit career.

Le Sulk Profile

James Sheriff has had a fantastic month. He was ruled out of the first two matches, firstly the match against Tottenham, as he couldn't play against his parent club, and secondly a cup tie in which he was not allowed to play due to rules in his loan contract. However when he finally got a chance he took it. A tough match saw Bristol City travel to Stamford Bridge where the Sky Sports cameras were watching live. Surprisingly the game was pretty even, some say that Bristol even played better than the blues. Anelka put Chelsea ahead and Sheriff scored a goal 15 minutes later to get an important draw for his club. The next game he continued his scoring by opening the scoring in a 2-1 home win over Bolton.

Sheriff will hope he can continue this rich vein of form, and improve upon the poor start he had at City.

Sheriff Profile

Last but not least is another player to move this window. However it is once again on loan. Da Silva who was finally getting some first team football, was subject to a loan bid from Tottenham. A £1.5 million up front payment was accepted by Valencia who agreed to let him go until the end of the season. But before he left Buzzasto left the Valencia fans with a reminder of his talents, setting up a goal and playing to a 7.8 rating in a 3-1 win over mallorca. He is yet to play for Tottenham in the two matches he could have been selected for, however both times he has been an unused substitute. Time will tell if this is a smart move, or a career hampering disaster.

Da Silva Profile

Once again thats it for tonight folks. It concludes an interesting transfer window, but don't forget loan moves may still come over the next month. So tune in next time for another edition of Future Stars.

Nope its all good thanks Glenn.

Can't wait to see how I'm doing and how was Argentina?

Thanks.

Well, long story but we ended up going to Brazil instead to see the Iguazu falls (Most amazing place ive been ever).

Look it up on google.

As for cooper, i have just updated the above post and your not going to be too happy at your clubs form, although yours is good enough.

Very nice personal form and I told the manager to include me, I do great in the big matches, he just doesn't listen!

Yeah, Iguassu Falls are great, studied them once upon a time I have you know.

Pictures don't do it justice. Anyway i digress, looks like a few players are stepping up now (Sheriff and Mapinduzi) really going to be an interesting end to the season and to see how can get FSPOY (Future Star Player Of the Year)

still no sign of going on loan :(

Sack your agent.

City was probably not the best option for a youngster. Then again your Chelsea counteparts are not doing so well either.

Whoo go on Sheriff, wonder if I will make it into the Tottenham team when my loan is up.

If you continue this run of form then i would not be surprised if you break into it. After all you are getting some good goals against strong teams

I just noticed that I entered in about 7 signups in the first half of may. Of all those, only one person kept up with his updates, all the rest appearantly gave up and fail to show any sign of life.

So kudos to you Glennuk. :)

Feb/March/April - Maturing

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdhd0VCKwMeh5_w5CcqAqSP6YaapxHUC4xmKmu0ch6Eb_gtVMJ&t=1

Welcome to another edition of Sky Sports Future Stars.

We are pleased to be able to round up the months of February, March and April as we look to see which of our future stars has made progress and which have been languishing in the reserves. Will our stars be maturing, or will they have already reached their potential?

We are going to be starting with the lowest valued player to the highest. Reportedly worth around £1million Alan Juel Hansen has become a regular fixture in a Celta side which are still not living up to their expectations. Since we last saw him in action Hansen has doubled his goals tally for the season coming in with 10 goals in 28 league starts. With 18 points left to play for and Celta 9 points from a playoff position it looks like Liga Adelante is where Hansen will spend next year….unless a transfer comes through of course.

Hansen profile

£2.2 million is the fee that Mizengo Mapinduzi commands, and this will surely rise as the Tanzania International shows that he knows his trade, coming in with a massive 25 goals from 32 appearances in a Vannes shirt. Although he is only on loan, anyone can see that this youngster is going places.

Mapinduzi Profile

Yet to appear for Wolves since January, Tikki-Man is not having such a good time of it. After a poor showing at the start of the season he has been dropped back to the reserves, where he still has not found much form. This youngster will hope that his poor season will not be the last chance he gets as he strives to become a Future Star.

Tikki-Man Profile

Andrew Poole was a player with perhaps the biggest buzz after the first season of Future Stars. That was until he got a big transfer to Manchester City. He is yet to find a way to barge into the first team despite a decent season in the reserves. Poole is still hoping to go out on loan, but will probably have to wait until next season for that dream to become a reality.

Poole Profile

Long Tym Toon was another player to have perhaps moved a bit too early. With Chelsea becoming his destination. Unfortunately he has found the reserves to be his home, and still has not shone out. Also hoping to go out on loan, with no luck so far.

Toon profile

Mr Ihsaan is still our most expensive star, however he has not been able to break into the old Trafford first team. The youngster is on the loan list and is hoping to get first team football somewhere, but as no offers have come in, Ihsaan has been forced to spend his days in the reserve team, where to be fair he has done fairly well with 5 goals in 10 starts.

Ihsaan did go on record to state that he felt that he gained a lot from Berbatovs recent tutoring and hoped it could help him become a more accomplished player.

Ihsaan Profile

Glen Bunday is a natural goalscorer, however he has not proven this in the first team yet. Chelsea reserves have been lucky to have him and his 12 goals in 13 starts is a mean feat in any league, especially considering 6 of those goals have come in an impressive last 5 matches. However when he has had the opportunity to make the step up he has not taken it.

Is available for loan and Brighton are rumoured to be interested, but it may be too late for this season.

Bunday Profile

Sheriff valued at £3.2 million has had a rather successful loan spell at Premiership new boys Bristol City and has shown that he has potential. 10 goals in arguably the toughest league in the world is no easy feat for a teenager in only his second professional year. Also hearing Arsene Wenger state that he was taking extra measures to stop Sheriff will have helped his performance in a narrow 2-1 loss where Sheriff got the only goal for his Bristol side.

The sad news however will be that despite his best efforts Sheriff was unable to keep his on loan side from staying in the premiership as they have been confirmed as a relegated side.

Sheriff Profile

Next to another on loan player, Chelseas, Karim Al-Gaddafi, who has spent the last 4 months at Vitesse. He started well and has continued to play to a good standard, if not spectacular. 4 goals from 13 games and after 2 weeks out with a virus will be looking to score one or 2 more before the season is over.

Gaddafi Profile

Igor Kesina another player transferred to Chelsea may be another player regretting that move. No more first team action for the youngster who is a full international, and playing well for his country. Currently out injured for at least 2 weeks with damaged cartilage and still hoping for a loan move to end his reserve team hell.

Kesina Profile

Buzzasto da Silva another player on loan, but one who will be regretting that decision, after starting to get a few games for Valencia Buzzastos agent obviously convinced him that he would be more suited to England. After a loan spell to Tottenham, that has produced one sub appearance, after Pienaar was injured on the 15 minute mark, Da Silva may have to think about hiring a new agent.

18 Caps for Andorra though must be a career highlight so far, and Oscar Sonejees 83 caps may be one target in this ambitious players eyes.

Da Silva Profile

Le Sulk and injury are two words which are usually heard together. However he has managed to keep injury free since recovering from his hip injury. He has doubled his league appearances and started to impress. He must hope that the worst is now behind him as he looks to build upon this form.

Le Sulk Profile

Down to our last two and our 2nd most valued player is Matthew Cooper. The youngster has continued to impress this season and has found himself a regular starter at Villa Park. Starting 26 of the 36 league games for Villa and impressing with a 7.26 average rating, a handful of assists and 5 MOM awards. He appeared in Feb young player of the month coming 3rd, been praised by his manager in the press and has kept focus despite manager changes and rumours that Randy Lerner is ready to sell the club.

Cooper Profile

Finally our highest valued player is Chuck Noise. Hailed for his MOM performance in a narrow 2-1 loss against Athletico Madrid in the Euro Cup 1st knockout round and consistently showing his talents, in tackling, passing, scoring and setting up those goals. Noise has been most impressive, also a total of 17MOM awards in 37 games is almost unheard of. Noise surely is on the verge of becoming one of the greats. With no clubs sniffing around yet, it won’t be long before the £4.2million rated Belgian is attracting some of the big guns.

Noise Profile

I can only assume Chelsea buy players just to deny them to other teams - it doesn't seem to be to actually improve them. My player attributes haven't changed at all since he joined Chelsea.

Is that not what also happens in real life? :)

Seems FM have it right.

I wouldn't dispair too much, i mean you are still doing well for reserves.

Personally i think the tutoring i had at Leeds harmed my mental attributes - perhaps the important matches stat is low
