Ok then i'll start the Journeyman career thread off! I've started with Peterborough in League 1 with a Semi-proffesional reputation!

Now this seems like a really fun thing to do might give it go. I have never really moved around clubs in the past.

I'm planning on doing so, the leagues I have enabled are; English down to league two, Scottish top three, Welsh premier, Ireland top two, N.Ireland top two, MLS, French top two, German top two and Chinese top two.

Currently just about to start second season with Accrington, I fancy doing three seasons, maybe more depending on succees and then seeing what vacancies are open around the world.

Well here's how my save went!

It took me 1 month to do this save and i went on holiday a lot! If you won't a really good journeyman game that won't take you ages, get a good ass man and holiday some of the season!

How did your first season go!

i will try and start with ?? any suggestions i have all coca cola leagues loaded !

11th in League Two.... could of so easily of been 7th but some key player injuries right at the end caused me to only pick up 2 points in the last 5 games. Cup run was non existant to getting drawn against, Sheff Wed, Crewe and Leeds in the three cups.

Wycombe, Stockport and Peterborough are good teams with decent budgets! If your looking for a team which you can easily win a title with and boost your reputation try Leeds, Colchester or Leicester.

I'm sorry but starting unemployed with a sunday league rep is the first step to having the most boring journeyman expierence (unemployment )! If you have the conference leagues loaded try a semi professional rep anything higher try a profesional rep!

Started again with professional rep- started off well with watford job scoring goals for fun then went off form finally I was sacked after a board takeover and I am now looking for a new job:( my stats at Watford were: W7 L6 D9 GF35 GA29. Also won manager of the month in August which gave me high hopes which were destroyed later on in the season:(

Decent start VillaSmith, remember don't give up! I wonder where you'll end up next! Don't expect to get another job in the championship because that might not happen! Maybe you could take a job in League 1 or 2 so there isn't as much pressure on you!

i have started with ipswich !! 1st in the CCC its march 09.

have applied for other jobs : Portsmouth, Betis, West Ham, Boro and Fulham !! no joy yet though !

started with a pro footy rep ! just a tip guys get ABREU hes free and hes awsome 28goals in 31games !!!!

desperate for a new job now though ?? lets hope

oh and i knocked liverpool and manutd out of the FA Cup !!

this looks a lot like the 'FM09 Career Thread' in Challenges, Sign Ups and Ideas'. There is a lot of interest and people that take part, it's already got over 500 posts iirc. You should definitely take a look at it, as it is actually pretty much the same principle as this.

Looks pretty decent to do it this way real managers don't magically make themselves Real Madrid managers eh! Haha. Hope I can have a successful career

Took a job at wycombe then resigned due to them offering me an ultimatum because i applied for another job now in Nov 09 and at Hull who are now a Championship club and have £16M to spend

6th in league and won antrim trophy

4th in league and retained antrim trophy

Rooted to the bottom of the BSN currently

Just to let you guys know i also started a career like this. Put myself on the market, jobless but with tons of experience, waited to long and not one team needs a manager atm. No problem i just have to wait then.

Loaded Holland, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Italy, France and England + about 8 countries (all the players). I'm hollidaying about a month at a time and see what happens.

I started unemployed with Pro footballer status. Here is my journey.

07/08 - 01/09 Watford, Championship. Sacked. Was 21st when sacked

06/09 - 03/10 Eskisehirspor, Turkish First Division. Was 9th when resigned as I knew I was not going to get a play-off place.

04/10 - 10/10 Norwich, Championship. Finished 20th in the season then resigned after a poot start to the next season.

11/10 - 07/12 Steaua Bucharest, Romanian First Division. Finished 12th first season. Finished 2nd the next season and won the Romanian Cup. Resigned as I failed to win the league after a poor end to the season, was 1st for most of the season.

12/12 - Derby, Championship. Currently 23rd and trying to avoid relegation. 3 points of the relegation zone.

Wooohoooo saved Derby from the drop on the last day of the season by beating 3rd place Fulham 2-1.

I had lost the 3 previous games and was looking doomed. But a 90th min goal saved my team. Now looking to strengthen it for next season and challenge for a play off spot.

I might give this a go with my save currently with Middlesbrough, started with Automatic Reputation but now have a national one, this seems like a good thing to try considering im probably about to get sacked.

I started a career like this a few weeks ago with national reputation.

Took the watford job in November, they were 21st and 4 points adrift of safety. Managed to get them into 12th place at the end of the season. Then I resigned due to the board selling the best players over my head (Jay DeMerit).

Next I headed to Zvezda Irkutsk in the Russian first division. They were 5 points from safety after 21 games when I took over and managed to get them up to 13th in the division. The next season I consolidated in 7th place and brought in some good youngsters to make a title challenge the next season. At this time i also took on the Bolivian national job on a part time basis. The next season went exactly to plan with my younsters (average age 19) snatching the title from Rostov on the last game of the season. I really enjoyed Russia but when the chairman decided to spend 3m on 3000 extra seats meaning that i had no money to spend and had to sell my best players I called time on this job and resigned.

A few months passed with increasing specualtion of where I would go next, was offered jobs at RKC and Perugia but decided to move to Spanish 2nd division side Deportivo la Coruna. They were 6th with 15 games to go when i took over. They had decent players like Joan Verdu and Lafita so I knew all I had to do was a little tweaking and I could push for promotion the following season. However, despite being 8 points behind the promotion spots with 5 games to go we unexpectadly managed to win promotion to La Liga due to Tenerife losing their last 3 games.

I didnt expect promotion straight away and we probably werent ready, id much rather have a solid squad before moving to a more difficult league but im not going to complain. We strengthened in the summer with a few free transfers including Oscar Cardoza and Bartholomew Ogbeche as well as 5m on Geromel and a couple of million on Havard Nordveit.

So we were predicted to finish 16th in La Liga and we proved hard to beat losing only 11 games all season. However, we were draw specialists drawing 16 games out of 38. I brought in a big name signing in January, one Matias Fernandez . He proved to be a key player in midfield and we ended up finishing14th just 1 point from 10th place. Decent season IMO.

During that season I brought my reign as Bolivia manager to an end after a defeat by Venezuela. It was always going to be a difficult job and I was quite pleased that we showed good character getting successive wins against Peru and Columbia and a gutsy 0-0 against Argentina.

So onto the 2013/2014 season with Deportivo I have been given 600k to spend due to financial problems. I have brought in Stefan Bobovic on a free who I hope will be a good player as well as a few youngsters. Also in talks with Javi Garcia so hopefully he will decide to join the Deportivo revolution .

On a side note, my reputation is now Continental so hopefully I will be in contention for any big jobs should they come up.

Right so after an extremely busy summer Im very happy with my squad for the first time since joining Deportivo. I made 25m from sales including Filipe(9.25m), Maximiliano Oliva(6.25m) and Ogbeche (2.1m). This allowed me to bring in Royston Drenthe(3.4m), Patricio Araujo(6m) and a brilliant french wonderkid called Fieschi(8.25m). Also brought in a few promising youngsters and got rid of the older players and deadwood. So hopefully the new players will settle in and we can push in towards the top half.

I would love too, but my computer really doesn't let me do many leagues. The most I could probably do is -

England - Championship and above.

Spain - La Liga.

Italy - Serie A.

France - First Division.

Germany - Bundesliga.

Russia - Premier Division.

But that is really, really pushing it tbh...

Then possibly load all players from a few other countries. So this would be about 18 leagues overall. Would you recommend any others, or to take some of the leagues out?... I am more a fan of the countries which qualify for European tournaments.

Will probably aim to not sign many players for each team, depending on what they are desperately lacking, because I know when I start to build a team up I get hooked to them!

Looks like a good list to me Mikal. Perhaps add Mexico as-well though?

Yeah I was thinking of Mexico as well. Have no idea off the top of my head what teams are apart of the league, but I suppose that's what makes it all that more interesting!

I once did a Scandinavian journeyman career game in FM06. Was probably one of my favourite CM/FM saves of all-time - Started unemployed but soon took over a random Norwegian team called Lov-Ham, got them to the top of the Norwegian 2nd tier and flying, then left to save Molde from relegation (Lov-Ham got promoted though, although I did steal quite a few players ). Next season won the Norwegian league with Molde, before taking over at Malmo in Sweden. Was doing well there but then a new version of FM came out and that was that.

I've started one with Blyth Spartans in Blue Square North. Only done one season but finished 15th when expected 18. Second season has a lot of potential

Well done Bracken. I'm very impressed that you have come first every season, except from the 3rd season ofcourse but you switched jobs so that doesn't count KUTGW!

Thanks TigerJoe, I was very proud of the Chelmsford achievements, they're my home town club too! Luckily they already have players good enough for L2 when they're in the BSS. QPR had a great squad when I took over, no idea how they had done so badly in the league that season.

You never know with QPR! Maybe they weren't doing so good because they had assembled a completely new team so they hadn't had time to gel. On my game they always buy 5-8 players in the first season because they are so the rich. I've started calling them "The Man City of the Chamionship!".
