Apply or approach?

Do you apply to bigger jobs or wait for an approach?

I am playing fm10 and in six seasons I have only had one bigger club approach me even when i am touted as favourite numerous times when vacancies arise. So that's my question, what do you prefer?

I would rather wait for an approach. If I start applying for jobs, usually I get one chance after saying sorry to the board. If I apply for a job again I have to pack my bags.

And applying = sack me please.

I only apply for national teams or obviously when I'm out of a job.

Still on my FM10 save, I'm waiting for Liverpool to one day sack their manager and hire me. I'd jump ship straight away.

I always wait for them to approach me.

If there is a job that I want and I get the chance, I declare interest in it first. I have found that the club are far more likely to offer me the job if I do this.

Unless it's a team I'm really interested in managing, I'll usually wait for an approach.

Wait for approach. Been offered Chelsea and Arsenal jobs on my Peterborough save but rejected both.

Starting a new save today, I wait for the approach but I want to get the achievements and some of these require you to move clubs, now I don't know which to choose. Should I just be ambitious and apply, I know when to do it without upsetting the board.

I would apply if I was out of a job, or I was linked with a job, or if it's a national team job. Apart from that always approached.

I always apply when unemployed, but I've not had much luck in applying while still at a club. Usually I see out my contract, leave the club then pick up a new one.

I always wait for approach unless its a job of a international team, then I go looking and applying for all I can get at.

I think I might start applying because I get overlooked even though I'm favourite, for a manager with no experience whatsoever!

I wait for the approach, the risk of you still not getting the job and being left with a very unhappy board at your current club isn't worth it. Besides which I think publically looking for a job when you already have one is hugely unproffesional.

Depends on the job really, I went for apply though as I do that more often for the jobs that I really want.

Declare interest first, if you are favourite for the job then apply. They will never offer you a job because you act like as you are not interested at all.

for International jobs, I apply for them as soon as they become available.

Depends on the situation, if I'm unemployed I apply for jobs, if I'm with a club I wait until I'm offer the job.
