Goal line clearances

Shoots with power is a trait, it doesn't mean they blast it 100% of the time. -
Goal line clearances
The_jagster replied to phantombandit's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
No belters, I think you're just making that up. But placed finishes are unrealistically slow meaning that for finishes after you've taken it beyond the keeper the defence have a reasonable chance of reaching it before it crosses the line. Watch finishes for low crosses, they don't tap it home but cushion it in a lot of the time taking pace off it, I don't know why this is in the ME but it looks horrible to me -

Developing Players - Rapid Regression

The ability graph is unreliable as it's based on your assistant's subjective opinion and if the rest of your team improves too then a player can get better with no corresponding rise in star rating. And if a player is on a good run of form he tends to have a better star rating even though his attributes are the same, I have had a player fluctuate from 3 stars to 4 and a half stars and back over the same season despite his attributes remaining flat. -
OpenAI ChatGPT is a gamechanger for FM immersion

Shortening each line to 10 syllables but putting the rhyme somewhere other than the end is a poor imitation of the GOAT writer and his iambic pentameter. -
Send them out on loan, development for the second team is virtually zero for me in Germany. The sole use I have for the second team is midweek friendlies when I need to build up match fitness for first teamers as they will never play the hidden league game at the weekend even if you set them as available.

Bundesliga Data discussion
The_jagster commented on Ed Hewison's issue in [Germany] Bundesliga Data Issues
Don't know if this was updated after the first update (I'm not going to start a new save just to check!) but Dan-Axel Zagadou is showing as 0 appearances 2021-2022 when the Bundesliga site gives him 15 https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/player/dan-axel-zagadou -
How much have you already forgotten about the World Cup
The_jagster replied to Pompeyboyz's topic in 2022 World Cup Forum
That's not why they are hosting it though. Just as the main reason brands advertise is to put their names into your mind, Qatar will have some legitimacy and recognition merely by hosting the world cup, and not locking up any journalists etc I don't think any sensible people are suggesting that the excitement of the football makes any difference to the Qatari legacy. -

Lies, damned lies and FM statistics.

One thing that jumps out to me is that your rivals have bizarrely terrible crossing completion percentages. I play vertical tiki-taka which is fairly narrow and prioritises working the ball into the box over crossing and therefore I have a high completion percentage comparable to yours. For some reason other teams on your data are in the low single digit percentages, whereas on my save other teams have much more normal success with crossing. Unless you've managed to clone David Moyes from that 2-2 against Fulham and put him in charge of all your rivals. The issue is not your numbers, but those of your rivals imo -
Of course there's a lot of luck, otherwise the better side always wins, whether that's FM or real life. What you can do is put yourself in a position so that an unlikely long range shot that goes in is less likely to be the winner and merely the first goal in a loss and so on. Kudos to anyone that reloads the game if they win when their small striker with terrible heading manages to convert a cross or they are outplayed but happen to win because it feels unfair. If anything I wish there was more luck and less influence of morale on performances.

Yes, other than results what else can you base it on? In the league we never hear that the table is clearly rubbish because a lower ranked side wins. Also, by basing it on results and specifying the rules in advance you avoid accusations of fixing for World Cup draws and the like. Want to be in a better pot? Beat more teams to improve your ranking.

NOT SOUTHGATE'S LAST HURRAH: The England 2022 campaign

I don't think a manager who has a reputation for managing teams that struggle to score is what England need in the case of Potter -

Martinez is unfairly criticised imo. It's just not that easy to win knockout tournaments, even with two legged ties in all years but one, Pep hasn't won the CL in 9 seasons now. And unlike at City there is a huge gap to the squad players in the Belgium national team.
