SI Staff Miles Jacobson Posted May 31, 2011 SI Staff Share Posted May 31, 2011 As revealed in the last Football Manager Podcast, Sports Interactive and SEGA are proud to present the inaugural Football Manager Awards. Whilst there are loads of awards for footballers each year, we don’t feel that managers get enough recognition so now is the chance, with the help of our friends at many fine publications, for you, the Football Manager community, to decided which managers should win a variety of awards for their performances over the past season. For its first year, the awards are centred around the English and Scottish leagues. If the awards are a success this year (and we can’t think of a reason that they wouldn’t be) then next year we will expand them to take in European countries, with a long term aim for the Football Manager Awards (FMA’s) to be a global award for football managers everywhere. The voting will start today at 12.30 today and will end on Sunday 5th June. There are 8 awards in total, with a new award and the nominations for that award becoming available at 10am and 5pm UK time each day - when an award goes live, we'll add a link to it on this thread. The first is for manager of the season, in conjunction with goal.com - http://bit.ly/mLNDbb The second, for young manager of the season, in conjunction with Kick! magazine can be voted for at http://on.fb.me/joeHay The third #FMA category is live - "Best managerial purchase" in partnership with football365's the dugout. http://on.fb.me/k98Wsg The 4th category in the FM Awards is the "Most Entertaining manager of the season", it is now live and available for you to vote, bought to you by Zoo - http://bit.ly/j4lvwa This mornings award category is 'Motivational Manager of the season' in association with Maxim Online – http://bit.ly/lEZPb8 Category 6 is "Manager you would most like to be your boss" in partnership with Teamtalk - http://bit.ly/kmgcPI 'Best Managerial Bust-up of the Season' bought to you by Mirror Football http://bit.ly/lbDp4C Most animated manager of the season, is association with vitalfootball.co.uk - https://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=question&id=10150201749837616&qa_ref=qd Best dressed manager https://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=question&id=10150202351477616&qa_ref=qd The final #FMA is for Best Triumph against adversity – in conjunction with the News Of The World http://bit.ly/mgzxU3

Pompeyboyz
Steve Cotterill should be a shoe in with all the crud he has had to put up with this season and still come out sweet.
SCIAG
Rodgers and Warnock ahead of Lambert? Doesn't stack up to me- both have spent more and had better squads to start with, and Norwich finished above Swansea!
SI Staff Miles Jacobson Posted May 31, 2011 Author SI Staff Share Posted May 31, 2011 Lambert is in the "young managers" category.
Prof Bluste
Miles, why can't Lambert be in both? Surely he is in for a shout for both!
Giggles
Hmm Why not Peter Reid? He's an absolute legend here at Home Park, sold his FA Cup Medal to help the club run, and payed for the heating bill. Did a sterling job with 2 hands tied behind his back with administration and a January Fire-Sale. I understand you think "ew Plymouth Argyle" but really, Reid deserves a crack at this for his hard-work and commitment because alot of managers would of walked out on that. Giggles
i knew this would happen everyone saying there manager should be in the mix for this reason or that Sigh. I did point out a valid reason.. Fair play if Pride & Passion has no value in football these days.

taylorsmen
Awards like 'Best dressed manager' reminds of something you get in the TV soap awards, shouldn't managers recognition be by what their team does and not who wears the nicest jacket.
