Noob21
Has anyone been able to take it out? It's really crazy, everyone and his mother wants one
Keyzer Soze
try offer a little more in the basic salary. sometimes works for me.
Biscotti
I've only ever once had someone feel the need to demand it. It's what you get for trying to sign players that already consider themselves stars
Bracken
I've got 4 players with it at Chelsea, it's a real pain but if you want the top players they always demand it.
chob
an awful clause this is. I tend to eventually be able to offer the player a little more in basic wage then he will accept the contract without the clause.
Curuedhel
It actually bankrupted my club once, nightmare.
Biscotti
It actually bankrupted my club once, nightmare. Surely it didn't, surely you did by not taking it into account when you offered out a contract to someone?
MelbVictory
Its very bad if yo play in the HAL, because of the salary cap. I compensate by a larger sign on fee.
Smurf
I did it by mistake without knowing the consequences of Match Highest Earners. Signed a few guys all earning the same as Messi - 350k a week each. OOOPs
Menion
I did this at a championship club. I didn't have much of a budget but signed a really good player. next moment 3 peoples wagse went up by almost 5k. The money it took up I had already put aside for 2 more players! Weezer
Its a nightmare if you bring success to a relatively small club in a short space of time. Its easy to forget some of the players you signed in the Championship and are now languishing in your reserves but demanded the clause back in the day when they were actually important signings for you. I got into Europe after my 1st season in the Prem and signed Dario Conca to play as my creative midfield playmaker. Cue 3 of my transfer listed reserve players getting a pay rise upto £60000 pw. Yep, that's what I'm dealing with. The problem is new players who are better than your players but become obsolete by the time you reach the Prem/top-table status Oh and I was able to circumvent it by offering more in the signing fee dept. acidmonkey
i just refuse it i take it out if the player has a agent who has high fee ill offer the agent more money if not ill offer the player more signing on fee generally i smooths over me taking it out
Swedezinho
I always remove it and just add a little extra to the weekly wage or signing on fee and they seem to accept.
Winto
i used the clause when i started trying to get good players at my club but i was always careful that if anyone had the clause they only had a small rise over anyone else with the same clause. now i have a top team i never use the clause. i do everything i can to leave it out, it takes some rejigging in the negotiations but its worth it. heard somewhere that if you give the agent more money you can lever most things your way.
