Things i won't miss about 11.2

Things i won't miss about 11.2:

1. "Current" tactic and tactic options resetting to default/mixed bugs.

2. Amount of goals scored from set pieces and corners by the AI.

3. Penalty misses.

4. 1 on 1 striker misses/unable to finish.

5. Horrible, unbelievable offside calls by the refs.

6. 1 long ball over the top, usually from the goal keeper directly to striker goals.

7. Own goals.

8. All top clubs playing defensive formations (Barca playing a 4-1-4-1...)

9. Clubs offering you straight up value for your players and nothing higher when trying to sell your players.

10. Manager picture disappearing when you reload a skin. (I'm sure this one goes further back then 11.2)

Now that i got that off my chest, i'm eagerly anticipating the release of 11.3 in the near future. :)

- never occurred to me, I always score far more goals from corners then I receive. Try to set up your set pieces.

- high concentration, composure is also important to a penalty taker

- ok this could be tweaked a little

- surprised me as well playing as Man Utd in the champions league semi-final, they managed to kill off the brilliance of Messi by themselves with 4-1-4-1

9. Clubs offering you straight up value for your players and nothing higher when trying to sell your players.

- agreed, well sort of reality in it but after 1 season with very good player performances the buyers shouldn't be going well XYZ is worth 2 millions, and I don't care that he scores 30+ goals every season, and he's 24.

10. Manager picture disappearing when you reload a skin. (I'm sure this one goes further back then 11.2)

- not bothered sorry :)

- surprised me as well playing as Man Utd in the champions league semi-final, they managed to kill off the brilliance of Messi by themselves with 4-1-4-1

No, but I'm honest.

For me at least these don't problems don't hinder my experience, The transfer market is flawed a bit, but the own goal, corner goals etc they really don't occur as much to be considered as bugs or problems.

And before you think I play only with big clubs and always win 4-0, I have a save with Man Utd, with Maccabi Haifa, with Churchill Utd (Northern Irish 3rd league), one game in Singapore, and others as well so I'm all over the place.

Seems like the 4-5-1 formation preference in the Editor, such as for Guardiola, started translating in the game as 4-1-4-1 as opposed to the 4-5-1 cum 4-3-3 formation it used to, the one Guardiola uses most frequently IRL. I set all the best known exponents of this formation to prefer 4-1-2-2-1 to fix it.

I dont agree with point 6 and its not acurrate :) .Indeed 1on1 comes from long ball made by goalkeeper but when is hited by a header from an apposite player and your defenders will just watch.And to add some other flaws in ME are:

-marking is not working properly,defenders are to offen bypassed by strikers like they are nothing.

-marking is not working properly at set pieces especially at those that come from the deeper side of the field.The defenders will stay on the side of the field and central striker being unmarked will offen go on 1vs1.

-Crosses are a joke,no more to say here

-target man,trequartista not working properly

-closing down sliders doesnt make sense at least for me maybe im wrong here

-When will SI make some guides about OI and match preparation to enlight us whats all about because they are a big enigma even tactical gurus cannot put them in the use of their tactics.And here i mean how can we use them to be effective in a logical way and to put them in good use to help us in the game and not just theories and philosphies which contradicts themself

-Pacey strikers and pacey defenders are overpowered

-bad positioning of the wall and of the gk in set pieces

-defenders who got money before the game to sell the match and they help opossite strikers by escorting them to the goal :).

The biggest or most frustrating ME problem I've found is it seems once an attacking player is closed down by a defender that's the end of the line, they either find a pass or get tackled. Not even Messi seems to have the ability to quickly accelerate away or use skill to beat his man. In fact pace and acceleration only seem to matter much in a protracted foot race over a big length of the pitch. Nor are players much seen to be able to skip past a challenge once a defender gets near them. This is I think the biggest factor in the constant underperformance of attacking mids and wingers, they are only consistently effective if you have them play far wide on their "right side", hug the touchline and get crosses in to a target man.

Indeed is a problem with strikers(even with Messi,Ronaldo doesnt matter name) when they are in 1 on 1 defender+gk they choose to go on the flanks in dead zones instead of forcing a dribble.Also of the ball u cannot make strikers to play only central if they have free space on the flanks they will go there and this is very frustrating for big strikers such Zigic,Crouch.

Absolutely, and I find if you try to tell them never to cross and cut inside, this merely means they charge to the touchline and hesitate, and instead of crossing they then try to come inside, by which point somebody has closed them down and defenders have gotten back into the box.

Well, sorry if I offended you with my way of seeing things, but for me not able to see myself in the game isn't frustrating because I never use this feature. I can however understand that some people us it and yes it can be frustrating for them.

80% seems a bit generous. Of those listed above I reckon the "Current" tactic bug should be fixed, that's about it. Could be wrong though.

Does anyone know if anyone at SI has acknowledged problems with attacking midfielders and wingers not taking on defenders and strikers trying to always take the long way around a defender? Haven't seen it mentioned.

There's a post on here somewhere I stumbled across from SI listing some changes for 11.3, I can't find it now though :/

The shot placements of 1 on 1's are being tweaked

CCCs that aren't actually CCCs are being recorded correctly

The current tactic bug is being fixed

The decisions for 'keepers for corners aimed at the far post are being tweaked

Maybe AI team offers, not totally sure

Goals being recorded as own goals that actually aren't

Then I can't remember the rest, wish I bookmarked the post now but I'll have another look

Offsides aren't a problem & penalties were fixed in 11.2

3. Penalty misses. No issue for me again, last season my penalty taker scored something like 17 out of 18.

4. 1 on 1 striker misses/unable to finish. No real issue for me again

5. Horrible, unbelievable offside calls by the refs. Really not sure about this one

1) I agree it's frustrating and hope it gets sorted.

3) Penalty misses - This has always been a contentious issue in every release. For me it's more to do with being up against the mythalogical 'Super Keeper'. Out of all the penalties my team has missed, I would think that 99% of them have been saved, rather than the striker blazing wide or over.

4) I agree. I do get frustrated watching my world class strikers bear down 1 on 1 on the keeper to see them either pass it into his arms, hit the side netting or worse still head for the corner flag!

7) I would say that there are a few more than IRL, nothing too major, but I would definately say that there are far too many scored by keepers.

9) It's pretty well known that the transfer system is awful in this release, I would say the worst ever. It is definately biased against human players and I have tested this several times (I have resigned and watched players I was lucky to get offers of slightly more than face value, go for 3 or 4 times their value within a week or two of me resigning).

The one's I haven't mentioned are because they are not or haven't been an issue to me, so I can't really comment on them.

Another one that I hope is fixed is related to the transfer system. I find it worrying to watch big teams sell off big name players and then replace them with very average squad players which they pay big money for. A lot of these players then just sit and rot in the reserves because they aren't good enough for the 1st team.

So far.....anyway.

Yep. Now the first goal you'll concede in 11.3 will be a harmless ball played through the middle of your two centre halves who stand still or run the wrong way, the second will be a cross from a long ball down the wing while your full back stands still until the winger is well and truly past him, and the third will be a long ball over the top in which your defenders will either run forward, or approach the ball and then suddenly run on the spot or jerk backwards, allowing an attacker in.

Whatever the change list is, the same major, major fundamental flaws will be in 11.3. And probably 12.0, 12.1 and 12.2.
