Coop
When does a shot become a long shot? Outside the penalty area? 25 yards? 30 yards?
craigcwwe
I would say from anywhere outside the box.
Cougar2010
When does a shot become a long shot?Outside the penalty area? 25 yards? 30 yards? A good question. Best way to check is to have the match stats widget open and then watch it during a match. I suspect that it will be between 18 & 25 yards but I would need to watch a few matches to see. Cometdude
I was always led to believe that a long shot was from outside of the area, at least that what my old PE teacher used to tell us, but that was back in the old days. And relates to real life not FM
ism-scfc
A finish from 20, even 25 yards is not really a long shot, although it is if there's people in the way, and he just hits it in the general direction of the goal. So, it depends entirely on the circumstances really
Bromley Raven
Do you mean in terms of match statistics, or player attributes used? I suspect that for player attributes, a shot from the edge of the box would use both. A shot from 6 yards would be finishing no long shots, a shot from 35 yards would be long shots no finishing. That's just my guess though.
SCIAG
It's situational. If the goalkeeper comes out and it's a one-on-one, I imagine finishing would "count" from as much as 25-28 yards. But if the goalkeeper is on his line, and there are two defenders in the way, I'm sure you could have a long shot from 15 yards or so.
Joor
Long shots are from 22 yards or more away from the goal. The attribute finishing only "kick in" when the player is 22 yards or closer to the goal.
Jirki88
It is probably as simple as to say that any shot outside the box is long shot, any shot within the box is finishing. It's logical and probably right.

mrmeee17
Common sense would tell me what SCIAG said, basically. Apparently the ME is coded differently and imo somewhat restrictively though.
