marksandygill
just curious to see if anyone else has done really well in a season, only to be beaten by another club doing even better
marksandygill
i just finished my first season as chelsea (update 9.3) and finished with 92 points, only to have man u finish on 95...slightly annoying, and its not the first time, ive finished with 94 points as man city only to be beaten by chelsea... was wondering if anyone else has had anything similar? tomtuck01
In the season I have just finished with Arsenal I only lost one league game all season, ending up with 91 points, but still lost out on the title by two points to Manchester United. 2009/10 Premier League Table
baker.simon
Happened with Liverpool (haha) last season IRL, any other season and their points total would have won the league.
marksandygill
Yeah i find if im not with a team going for the league then the winner gets around 85 points, then as soon as im in a team going for the league it hits the mid 90's!! Suspicious maybe...

Delvor
I once won the league with 90 points with Reading, that year I won it by a +4 GD difference better than Man City. In 2010/11 Chelsea got 92 points and Man City got
IlikeJellybeans
In my save it was 114 to 108 lol with Chelsea and Man U
SuperNade
Was in my FM08 game, was 2012/13 season, finished top with Forest in League 1 with 105 points, coventry 2nd with 100. The top 5 all beat the previous points record, and in any previous season the top 6 could of gone up automatically with the points they gained. AZBruntsfield
English Premiership - Season 09/10. Finished second to Arsenal with Manchester United.
Brian Shanahan
Go to the The FM09 records thread. Its not allowing me in at the moment but last time I checked I had the record there with Barca on 100 points.
CaptainPlanet
For 3 seasons in a row, in my Benfica game, I won every game and finished 1st. Porto finished 2nd winning every game except the ones against me.
hilly_boro
Ive just finished a season with Roma in 3rd place, getting more points than the winners did last season (83), and finished behind Inter (84) and Milan (87). Lost one game all season and only conceded 17. !
SellOn_Clause
I used to have a screencap I got from here of someone losing the Blue Square North/South. Top 3 teams had something like 100+ points each.
Eles Gergo
In the season I have just finished with Arsenal I only lost one league game all season, ending up with 91 points, but still lost out on the title by two points to Manchester United.2009/10 Premier League Table Ooo my god :D:D i just made this in my man utd save no kidding, very funny i played a game a couple of hours yestarday, and finished just like that, and even more funny that the third placed chelsea also had 70+ something points ))) wierdest thing ever seen in this forum (which includes my own findings )
Kenco
In my save it was 114 to 108 lol with Chelsea and Man U So the winners won every single match and the runners up only lost 2 games to the winners?!? Highly unlikely.
Müller1469564937
I finished 2nd with 100 points in my 2nd season in Spain. Real Madrid won with 102 points. Still, can't believe 100 points didn't secure the title. How realistic.
matt_132
Sevilla- 103 R Madrid- 102 i was sevilla
MachinegunHead
I got 96pts in L1 in England, and came second to Swansea who got 101pts. I was gutted. Although, not as gutted as Oldham, who managed to concede 100 goals without getting relegated.
JoeLatics
My God, our (Oldham's) defence is shocking, but not that bad, lol!! Where did we come, then?

marksandygill
i suppose the problem with teams having such good players (as the best usually migrate to the league being played) is that you end up with unrealistic points totals!! i guess the game cant handle it, after all its just playing out one set of statistics against another!? and then if the game were altered to cap points totals then that would be even worse!! I think a lot of the problems stem from how rich the clubs get - Man City's reserves are often a premiership-standard team if they go on a big buying binge. I often see them selling their 5th-choice dm to go and be 1st choice at other big clubs like Barca or Man Utd. When all the big clubs get rich, they just horde more and more good players that they don't need - on smaller databases, this completely kills off their opposition.
