Now they are virtually unknown to younger foreign fans imo. Anyway, this isn't on topic so lets end it here.

SCIAG
They're all quite big clubs. Sheffield Weds.
LUFC Barmy Army
Give over Sheffield Weds! Leeds = Loyal fanbase (Y)
Drunk Beware
I'm not sure if this is correct but i would assume attendances and fanbase are entirely different? For example the teams that max out the capacity each week would most probably get alot more if the stadium was bigger like Norwich even though they are having a poor season always get big attendances. GavinLP1987
Yeah true. Juventus attendance is something like 25,000 yet they're the best supported team in Italy apparently. I don't think thats the case for most of the list above tho.
elsgouro
And what is the safest way to measure a clubs fanbase? I think it's the av attendance, otherwise you have to make a research about merchandising sold, number of fanclubs etc. But attendance gives you a first impression. Greasy Chip Butty
They're all quite big clubs.Sheffield Weds.[/QUOTE] They've not even got the biggest fanbase in their city! If they're not careful, Rotherham will overtake them soon! SO: Sheffield United. 25000 average attendance for past two CCC seasons. Or Norwich City (same average for last few years) or Derby County. Neji
Are we talking fanbase or attendences? Sheffield Wednesday do have a big fanbase but not high attendence. Leeds would be a good choice also. Neither of these clubs are big but do have good potential.

JesterSTJ
Depends how big. I would say Exeter City is a small club with a good sized fanbase all across the UK, Big potenial to get bigger aswell. Other choices would be Bradford and Oxford.
golfpunk
How about Bristol City? They have a new stadium in Ashton Gate and have a fairly good fanbase. They aren't a 'big' club but have the potential to be a big club.
Denther
I would like to be a club with a big fanbase. But not a big club. Please help Newcastle On a more serious note, Swindon have a fairly decent fanbase when we start winning, then when we lose (like this season) they all disappear (but I suppose that means the fan base are still there, they are just not attending  ) I know what I mean
Benana93
the mighty Norwich City, average of 25000 per game over last couple of seasons, and Carrow Road only has a capacity of 25000!
