Euro Cup Semi Final

image.thumb.png.d3fd512173226c75c4c5f9f5d06b5bb1.png

We should have killed them off in the first half and then tiredness set in. 2 more injuries one major the only minor didn't help and limited us.

image.thumb.png.aa460cf139515389735c2190e67c89d2.png

2 goals in 2 minutes effectively killed the tie but we weren't great. But a big result that puts us into the final where we will play.....

Not a bad result considering I have 3 or 4 players up in my first team due to injuries!

Liverpool collapse losing 4 of their last 5 games meaning we managed to sneak into 4th. I didn't realise just how good a run we have been on in the league. Definitely takes the pressure of the Euro Cup final now!

Transfers

Out

image.thumb.png.abcade004142399cb9b5226b4146c6dd.png

I had already told you about Macias, Diaz, Ortola and Reguilon which were organised at back end of last season. On top of that we sold some youngsters in Lubbers, Cudworth, Macleod and Fielding as they simply won't be good enough to get into our team. On top of those youngsters the most annoying transfers of the summer, we lost both our best and 2nd best youth prospects as I was unable to offer them a contract as they had only recently signed meaning Clarke and Walters both left for Arsenal and Liverpool respectively. Anjorin, Gigovic, Lemiere, Maatsen, Gilmour, Lepenant, Begraoui, Markov and Omur were surplus to requirements and brought in some well needed funds. The last transfer was Abraham who I would have liked to have kept around the club however he was a ridiculous 400k a week and wouldn't accept a pay cut. Barca came in with a good offer and are paying all his wages so I couldn't turn this down as it cleared nearly half a million a week of the wage budget!

In

image.thumb.png.0f19afb02263c6b9ca9255d90c77bce0.png

You have seen all the signings except for the following:

image.thumb.png.6a0d3b2a6df243a395b92f662f48e24a.png

Mimi comes in with fantastic potential and will be part of our first team squad becoming our 4th centre back. A steal at just over £15m

image.thumb.png.593393b30b4e9f2826d688c4ba939742.png

Arancibia comes in as part of strengthening our full back areas where we lacked strength in depth. He will primarily be used on the left but its very handy that he can play on both sides. Probably slightly overpaid here but at 19 he can easily spend over a decade with us which hopefully means we get value for money at £54m

image.thumb.png.3b430b9c897dcc59ca969b69c31b0959.png

Caudeville comes in as Tammy's replacement. He already has great stats at 21 with great potential. Great finishing. first touch, dribbling, strength and jumping means he is a threat anywhere! Brought in for £60m form Napoli.

Jimbodinho

image.thumb.png.63547271594c2e9e8c8c5f6a71bc8be6.png

Around 22 years ago @Jimbokav1971 had an uncle who moved to South America for work related reasons. He has been there ever since and has reared a child in Brazil by the name of Jimbodinho and he became a footballer like a lot of his family. I have now snapped him up for £20.5m! He will be out set piece taker!

Jimbo Kav Family

Jimbo Kav #1

The original is enjoying his retirement. Rumours are he retired after hitting the jackpot in a Las Vegas casino. He has relocated to Miami where is living the life with his family!

Jimbo Kav #2

Jimbo Kav #2 has now been with Lowestoft for 5 seasons. Lowestoft just survived back to back relegations last season in League 2.

image.thumb.png.74e28ccf068ff288da65f8dc1793ecaa.png

Jimbo The Third

Jimbo The Third is now in his 2nd season with Notts County after leaving Lowestoft after 2 seasons.

image.thumb.png.9185dce485e7953352bbb3d60f418502.png

Jimbo IV

Jimbo IV is still with Middlesbrough and is in his 3rd season with them now. Values at nearly £11m the former Queen Of The South player has had a quick rise in football. I tried to sign him this summer but they were looking nearly £50m! He is also Scotland's number 1 goalkeeper and has 6 caps.

A solid if unspectacular month, we were outplayed by City but we are a very young team with a number of new players still gelling. We battered both Wolves and Spurs and should have scored more. Away at Newcastle was tough and they probably did enough to deserve a draw but a late goal won it for us. Nice to see both Caudeville and Jonathan get off the mark. Carroll got MOTM on his debut and training for some of those players who don't fit out system right away is well on its way!

Jimbodinho Watch

No goals so far but 3 clean sheets in 4 games isn't something to be sniffed at!

Champions League Draw

image.thumb.png.6284aff088b11090ceb4f05cb8081bfc.png

It is a tough draw with it being more than likely 2 from 3. We played and struggled at times against Bayer last season in the Euro Cup semi finals.  Inter are current Serie A holders. Red Star should be the whipping boys of the tournament!

Another good month with the only blip being the 3-0 loss at Inter in a game where we were actually the better team. We bounced back in the CL with a comfortable win over Red Star with a largely rotated team and we currently sit 3rd early on in the group with Bayer leading the way. We also progressed in the Carabao Cup with our backup players all getting some minutes and Gaucho getting off the mark for the club. In the PL we won all our games and sit 2nd behind perfect 7 for 7 Liverpool. A very comfortable month bar the crazy Leicester game. Our strikers have struggled a bit but a Caudeville double in the last PL game and Gaucho getting off the mark in the Carabao Cup can hopefully change things. We have started picking up some injured with 4 first teamers now out injured!

Jimbodinho Watch

Jimbodinho managed to get off the mark for the club with a free kick away at Leicester and then a penalty in the Carabao Cup away at Cheltenham

Shame about the Europa League final but an incredible recovery in the league to get 4th and a Champions League spot from where you started.

A lot of those signings look great, can sense a title challenge in the offing.

Yes it was a shame but hopefully we can move on to bigger and better things. It's been a solid start to the season for us and we are in great form. I have managed to rotate quite a bit so a lot of players are getting minutes and experience which is great. I will do a mid season update on the signings and their progress soon :).

A great month for us, perfect in fact. Scraping through with out backup players in the Carabao Cup with Jimbodinho being the hero in the penalty shootout. Only 1 game in the CL but it was a big win away at Bayer in a very even game. In the league we have been fantastic with Jonathan and Caudeville (Premier League player of the month) finding their form and Patrac being fantastic on the left hand side. Arsenal must hate the scoreline 8-2 as we absolutely battered them from start to finish and where 6-1 up at half time.

Jimbodinho Update

Jimbodinho scored a great free kick in the away win at West Ham before being the hero in the Carabao Cup away at Huddersfield. Saving 2 penalties and scoring his spot kick!

A decent, we were 2-0 down away at Burnley but managed to bring it back to 2 all before a last minute winner by Gaucho at home to Brighton. The Norwich game was very even but 2 late goals gave us a big win.

Champions League Table

image.thumb.png.867a2dc8809c401742b50c83b08622df.png

We were beat by Bayer at home in a match we dominated. If we win our last game we qualify as if its a draw we will go above Inter, if Bayer win we will go above Inter and if Inter win then we will go above Bayer on results between us!

The sending off turned the game, we were on top until then but Spurs took advantage after. That is now 3 competitions in 2 seasons they have knocked us out of.

Team Performance

Forgot to take a screenshot at the end of the month however Caudeville has really kicked on and his by far our top goalscorer now. Jonathan has got around 1 goal per 2 games which is still a good return. Gaucho had been nipping in with goals but has been out for nearly a month with injury. Tonali, De Bruyne, Jorginho, Mimi, Olmo and Tomori all have been out as well meaning we had a youth academy player start at centre half in our vital CL game!

Jimbodinho Watch

Jimbodinho bagged 4 goals this month (2 penalties and 2 free kicks) bringing him up to 8 goals for the season!

Glad you are back up and running again. Good luck mate :)

I sometimes take a cheeky look at my favourite club Liverpool. No chance of winning the EPL first season. 16 points behind Man City, and LFC are in 3rd. I'mhoping to sneak a place in to the Championship in the 2nd season of the game. And you never know, an ok EPL club underperforming in season 1, might be looking for a new manager. I really want to be playing European football cup competition sooner rather than later.

An absolute shocker away at Sheffield Utd who fully warranted their win. Thankfully we have been perfect in the league otherwise. Lead is down to 2pts but we do have a game in hand.

FA Cup

image.thumb.png.fb21f244c17ed25c073307fb7b455493.png

We have got past Watford via a replay and also Derby and have drawn Man City at home in a monster tie. Also a north London derby!

Team Performance

image.thumb.png.1b68f59a85bc4a6eccbdc4ac9c879a94.png

The team has really gelled and we are performing well. Caudeville is the top scorer in the league with 19 goals which is 5 ahead of nearest rival. Rony Lopes had a slow start this season but really has upped his game and is providing a lot of assists recently. Patrac and Jonathan have weighed in with a healthy number of goals

Jimbodinho Watch

Jimbodinho added 1 more goal this month which brings him up to 9 goals and he has also added 2 assists to his name! He is also 4 clean sheets clear of Bournemouth's Aaron Ramsdale for the golden glove!

Transfers Out

image.thumb.png.38e4f2234d0b862bbad0bf08c4bc4f43.png

We sold an additional 6 in January and 2 more youngsters out on loan. Martial was really surplus to requirements and was moaning about more game time despite being signed as a fringe player. On 125k p/w it was an easy decision. James was a sore one as I love him and his potential but we simply have 3 younger right backs with more potential and at nearly 30m this was something we couldn't turn down. Jorginho was similar to Martial in that he was on nearly 200k p/w and we have a multitude of DM's in Carroll, Tonali, Frederico, Mount and even Christensen. Kepa was never going to be anything more than a backup going forward and on nearly 150k p/w it made business sense to let him go for nearly 19m. The last 2 that went out were youngsters that weren't going to make it.

Transfers In

With Kepa leaving we brought in a backup keeper on loan from our big rivals!

A really poor month in the league. My old team got one over me with Jimbo IV getting MOTM. Wolves should never have beat us and we just couldn't score against Southampton despite being on top the whole game. A scrapped win over Newcastle thankfully got us a win this month. After all that we have finally faller's into 2nd place behind City who have only lost once all season (away at Bournemouth).

Champions League

I don't know what it is about Brighton but we seem to struggle against them. A massive win away at Liverpool which Jimbodinho kicked off our scoring with a smashing free kick and a comfortable win at home to Palace means we are 3pts off City who we play near the end of the season at the Bridge!

Champions League

Jimbodinho Watch

1 goal this month but it was a massive one in the 2-1 away win at Liverpool!

Other News

We are struggling big time with injuries. We have 5 out currently and 2 suspensions so we are struggling currently. We have 1 fit striker with the other 2 being out for the season (or at least mid May). We are using midfielders to partner Caudeville who has went off the boil!

May 2026 Premier League Update

Results Before Last Game Of Season

image.thumb.png.250a6c287fba3c518fb70048eff0a6d6.png

2 massive wins here, we were comfortable at home to City despite playing with 10 men for most of the 2nd half. Jimbo settling the nerves with an early penalty! Away at Utd was another matter, a backs to the wall performance. I thought we had thrown the league away when we conceded on the 84th minute but Olmo popped up to give us a massive win!

League Table At Beginning Of Last Game Of Season

image.thumb.png.22757964eeb94225ef64dd4967f66660.png

2pts clear going into the final day were we are at home to Leicester. We have 7 players out including Utd hero Olmo! Harry Hilton the youngster who made his debut in the 2nd leg of the CL final is having to start up front have we have 4 out of the 5 players who can play up top out injured! Man City travel to relegation zone Southampton!

Final Day Result

A great performance with a fairly 2nd string team due to injuries and suspensions. One of my young South American contingent got us off to a flyer before Leicester equalised. The youngster who had only ever played 45mins of senior football prior to this game then scored his first ever goal! Carroll confirmed things late on!

A great season for Caudeville who claims 4 awards. Footballer of the year, players player of the year, players young player of the year and also top goalscorer!

image.thumb.png.e119bd1cc12ff2ac81784af2a41d9897.png

Jimbodinho claims the golden glove comfortably conceding only 34 goals all season and keeping 21 clean sheets!

We have 8 of the 11 players in team of the season including the goalkeeper and whole back line!

FA Cup Final

image.thumb.png.8e011be20a54dcd8f6de64757878c359.png

An absolute bottle job. I brought off Caudeville and 2 other at 3-1 trying to keep them fit and it back fired spectacularly. Still no excuse for what happened/ People will need to up their game for the CL final!

Champions League Final

Preview

image.thumb.png.f81ec1a0ac911c89d39a0dcb9efc3a34.png

We are slight favourites for the clash!

Starting Line Up

image.thumb.png.76ad00a8fd93cb9bd13d8cea29338e9c.png

The only surprise is Patrac coming in, he isn't fit but I hope to get 45-60mins out of him as he's been outstanding. We are missing Jonathan, Gaucho, Sule and Eduardo.

Half Time

image.thumb.png.88935df2522ad87666d4747651c0eea7.png

An absolutely dire first half with very little of note happening.

Full Time

image.thumb.png.33c01019df54f8d15e7776cf047c1583.png

It looked like my plan had worked when Patrac scored and we were comfortable all the way until the 94th minute when they equalised form a set piece.

Extra Time and Penalties

image.thumb.png.ddd8675b48ff4623fc2088b90e528b5c.png

Jimbodinho was the hero. He scored a penalty in extra time which we thought might have won it only for them to equalise via another set piece. Into penalties it went. Jimbodinho scored first off to set us on our way. He then saved Bayer's first from Volland. We both scored our 2nd before De Bruyne missed our 3rd making it all level. Frederico, Christensen, Caudeville and Carroll scored our next 4 meaning that was needed was for the big man to step up and step up he did. Saving Ibraimi's penalty low down to the left!

End Of Season

image.thumb.png.01148e715128efa8a2567700ea838d00.png

No surprises here that Caudeville picked up player of the season, signing of the season and young player of the season. Patrac's goal against Norwich picking up goal of the season.

image.thumb.png.a526eebf55e05be953ebd591b0648de1.png

Caudeville also sets a new record!

image.thumb.png.9fd23b140c7ba683874ad23b067a4bd2.png

As does Jimbodinho!

image.thumb.png.36711ace749edee2332b7bbdf9fb8967.png

The squad was fantastic this season although we did struggle a bit with injuries which probably didn't help that I sold 3 or 4 in January that would have been the players who came in during a crisis. The youngsters stepped up well with Boitel playing great in the 7 games he came in for and also Hilton who scored the winning premier league goal! The youngsters brought in are developing well with Naldinho grabbing 11 assists from full back and rotation option Arancibia nothing 5 assists. Mimi has been a solid centre half and still has room to improve. Jonathan, Gaucho and Eduardo all got hit with long term injuries which unfortunately has stopped their progress. Frederico and Carroll will be our long term midfield partnership. Caudeville and Patrac grabbed 53 goals between them with the more impressive thing being that Patrac was on the wing for most of the season until Jonathan's injury. Both Olmo and Lopes again had impressive seasons.

Jimbodinho Watch

Jimbodinho had a fantastic season notching 14 goals and 2 assists. Some vital goals as well including one in the CL final and also in the big win at home to City in the title run in.

What's Next?

After joining my boyhood club and leading them to PL and CL glory, what is next for David Lyness?

This is where the followers and those of you who have read and commented on the thread come in!

@rodesire@pheelf@samboing@managerf2020@TheRobert@Liverpool FC Manager@Jimbokav1971@cerud@Makoto Nakamura

a) Stay at Chelsea and create a legacy with the young players I have brought in

b) Return to Lowestoft or Boro and try and make them great

c) Return to Northern Ireland at one of the big clubs and try and make the European group stages

d) Go to one of the other major leagues and try and win the CL

e) Go back down the pyramid in lower league and try and work my way up again?

Let me know your thoughts!

Cracking job to win the double in your first full season, well done!! :applause:

As for what to do next...well...your rise has been so quick, I fully expected that reviving Chelsea would have offered more of a challenge but you blew that out of the water.

Personally, I'd opt for d). Maybe something along the lines of trying to topple the behemoth in one of those major leagues with a team that has fallen from grace. For e.g. besting PSG in France with a club like Saint Etienne or trying to get 1860 Munich to be top dogs in Germany and in Europe. That would be my preference although any of the options presented would be fine.

P.S. - Pleased to see Middlesbrough survive another season

New Venture

Having a look at the jobs that where there I had 2 real options, one was Ajax and the other was Linfield. They won the league last season but the manager has been poached across the water.

They are doing quite well actually!

Squad and Finances

Squad is pretty good for this level and have some good young players with potential!

Not sure where they got all this money from! They did reach the Euro Cup II knock out stages a few seasons back.

Champions League 3rd Round Qualifier 2nd Leg

image.thumb.png.b145c0a27be32f92eeeabafac2749b2a.png

We made it difficult for ourselves but dominated most of the game!

A tough draw but it was always going to be at this stage. We are guaranteed Euro Cup group stage football.

Transfers

I upped the scouting package to Europe to see what I could bring in. I have managed 2 loan signings!

image.thumb.png.3df256baa5fc65bcf49e694c971440e9.png

Pedrosa comes in and overs cover in midfield and centre half. A good solid signing!

image.thumb.png.a1f603a757eb68fd5ed6e976a2897555.png

The second I brought to the UK at Boro. Galves only played 5 times last season and is a wonderful signing on loan!

Champions League Playoffs

First Leg

image.thumb.png.fa0227469d01d68cb45dee2d2c493f63.png

Gutted. We were looking good then we had 2 men sent off and after using all our subs to re-jig we got any injury and played with 8 men for nearly 20 minutes. We held on until the 94th minute.

2nd Leg

image.thumb.png.9bbe5a289b2134b1fb46bb3f0dd73390.png

An amazing effort once again hindered by a red card. If we can keep that type of performance up and with some luck with the draw we might even sneak into a CL sooner than I thought!
