  1. A quick Google search shows that their financial situation is pretty dire with a ~110m debt, they're making losses every year now that the PL parachute payments stopped, haven't been able to make any major sales recently and barely spent a dime in the past 3 transfer periods. So, looks to me like their finances are just that horrendous.
  2. Sometimes players get a random outside of football event that drastically alters their personality. I'm assuming that's what happened in these cases. Sometimes a player gets a massive boost, sometimes they see a massive drop in some personality stat. Alternatively since this is FM24 it could be that issue where player personality gets cloned and you cloned a much lower determination personality onto your player. From what I've seen in this thread that's something that can happen with imported saves from FM23?
  3. Some people will tell you the game is quite literally unplayable, some people will tell you everything is fine, some people will tell you that it's not a big deal and some people will ask you "what issues?". Honestly what's the point of this thread.
  4. There are rare off field events that will massively impact personality, both positively and negatively. Looks like that's what happened to your player. Check your inbox, the message about it might still be in there.
  5. I'm not seeing numbers like that at all: The average goals per game are a bit higher than real life, with roughly 2.9 GPG so far, compared to the general 2.5-2.6GPG the league sees in real life, but that's by no means a game breaking difference. There clearly seems to be something funky for some people, but without the ability to properly point out where the issue lies specifically it's hard to say what's wrong and why some cases produce some absurd goal numbers.
  6. Tonali's ban simply came too late to make it into the current database. The ban will be there in the next database update.
  7. Ok, what is actually wrong with AI squad building? I holidayed forward to 2041 and honestly, the AI squads look pretty good to me? Yes the PL squads seem to bloat a bit as the PL clubs throw around the money they have, which is hardly unrealistic to be fair, but the squad quality looks fine, they don't seem to be actively missing players for the formation they use and they are mostly fine depth wise (and what squad truly has no depth issues in any position?). Yes, there are still stupid transfers, no doubt, especially in the PL with clubs waving around their massive budget a bit too eagerly, but it's not like real life is that different.
  8. Looking at my holiday save, where I do run most top leagues in full detail, total goal numbers might be a bit higher than RL (partially due to lots of added time supposedly), but overall I don't see anything too crazy. Well Villa won the PL, that is crazy, but that wasn't the issue here right? In Spain Barcelona went pretty nuts, but nothing crazy considering how dominant Barca and Real have been at times. 104 points might be a league record though? Bayern in a pretty dominant season only scoring 82 goals and nobody else hit 70 in Germany. Italy looks like a pretty high scoring season, but I wouldn't say it's completely out of the ordinary, especially if you compare it with the 19/20 and 20/21 seasons. PSG dominated France, no surprise there, but a massive drop off after their 94 goals. In the Netherlands the top 4 scores quite a bit, but after them there is a massive drop off. (Groningen got a Consortium takeover, but it must've pumped in some cash as well. ) And finally Portugal sees a rampant top 3, which does look a bit iffy, although 100+ goals have happened before as well.
  9. You can finesse your way into spending a billion in real life as well, look at Chelsea. Honestly, for me it's a mixed bag so far. I've holidayed until 2032 so far and for example Bayern is doing pretty well. They have their core team and are adding in mostly hot prospects as back ups, as a result they have a relatively young, but still balanced squad. It's obviously not flawless, as their depth for a 3 CD line up is very thin (then again, RL Bayern would like a word) and they did just throw a lot of money at a Turkish talent who now wants to leave as they're barely playing him, but overall this looks like a much better squad than what I've seen in previous years. On the other hand, looking at a Liverpool, they have a massive squad even for PL standards. As a result they're loaning out a ton of expensive players as they simply are not getting any play time, making those transfers a massive waste of money. Admittedly, their overall squad honestly is pretty good as well and again, they do have a lot of hot prospects on the bench, but they are clearly throwing too much money at back up players that due to their fees and ability demand a squad status that guarantees them play time but they barely play and thus get offloaded again very quickly, only for the AI to then think they need to replace these guys and thus maintaining their bloated squad. I feel like the AIs eagerness to buy and sell simply needs to be toned down a bit. (Insert people crying in horror about their inability to offload deadwood) As it stands, it feels like the AI is very happy to sell when they receive what they consider a fair price, regardless of whether there is a real need to sell. So, they get a 30m offer for their back up CD, look at it and go "Fair price, sure!". They then look at the squad, realise they're missing a back up CD, so they go onto the market with their 30m and buy a new back up that's roughly at the same level as their previous back up CD and in the end you're basically back where you started. Realistically, if you have a back up CD that's happy, he fits your system, knows how you play, why would you sell him for his value when you don't have an alternative already at the club? At the same time the AI feels overly eager to spend their entire budget, because they have it so lets go for it (which arguably ties in to FM finances in general where there tends to be more money in the first place), so they buy 3 back up players that look like they might be useful, but you're a PL club so you had €150m budget, so you now have a bunch of players that cost €50m each that due to the price and their reputation are expecting to see play time, but the AI treats them as emergency back ups in case they need a 4th striker in their 1 striker set up. So, there is definitely some improvements (at least compared to FM22 which is the last version I played), but some of the quirks the AI has need further looking at, especially their urge to replace players that never played in the first place.
  10. There is no such thing as a sales guarantee. Some players simply won't attract any interest regardless of intermediaries getting involved.
  11. Trent has a contract until 2025, for all we know negotiations broke down at which point him being transfer listed isn't that strange. As for Maddison, we're talking 1.5 years into the game, a lot could have changed. Spurs might just be on a poor run so Maddison wants out, perhaps due to the number of players Spurs have in the centre he isn't getting absolute Star Player game time and is complaining, maybe he had a row with the trainer because he didn't like his team talks, I really wouldn't take too much from a single save where after one and a half years some stuff happens. Only issue I see is McGinn being apparently an auto transfer list, but the researchers also seem aware of that already, so that will probably be adjusted for the official release.
  12. Considering 4PM UK time is the official release time, I'm assuming that the redeem page won't be updated until then as those codes do not have early access.
  13. I mean, are they actually unhappy or is it simply a negative on your overall confidence sheet? Because from the sounds of it, the board and players see it as a negative that you didn't meet expectations for the FA Cup, which makes sense, but are more than happy with how things are going overall as shown by your overall confidence being A. As for the OP, you took over the most successful English club in recent years, you obviously don't have the credit that a Guardiola would have in that situation and as plenty have pointed out, with only 73 points it sounds like you had a pretty poor season and can count yourself lucky you actually were in the title race until the end. Add to that that you won no extra silverware in any of the cup competitions and it doesn't really come as a surprise to me that the City board would like to have a talk with you.
  14. The real question is how the hell does Rodrygo have 17 Finishing.
  15. Ok, so the Saudi state comes in, gives a select few clubs billions of dollars, these clubs still have to field 5? Saudi players due to league rules and you honestly think the better Saudi players don't care? I honestly doubt that, those players now have a higher value than ever, as there are obviously very few good Saudi players, yet a couple clubs with near infinite money must field Saudi players and if these clubs want to look good internationally they obviously can't afford to field 6 foreign super stars and 5 Sunday league footballers, so they will fight for the best Saudi talent there is, massively driving up their price. Just look at the transfers, there were a couple of €10m transfers of Saudi players neither of us probably ever heard off and you think these players won't be receiving a massive raise? Sure, they won't earn like Ronaldo or Neymar, but I bet their new salary still dwarves whatever they earned previously.
  16. Even if it may happen, the game should still give you better feedback as to why it is happening. Sure, de Bruyne might want something different, perhaps he is after juicy Saudi money, he could be considering retirement at that age, but then he should actually say so during attempted negotiations. Normally it at least gives you some reason, so for the OP to get shut down like this by de Bruyne is a bit strange to say the least.
  17. If you mean the tutorial there should be a question mark at the top right of the screen, next to the menu icon, through which you can rerun any tutorial.
  18. I don't feel like any of these would really make much of a change. Star ratings? Who cares. Money? Who cares. Players wanting big moves? This could matter a bit, but in the lower leagues it's all about constantly rebuilding a squad good enough for the league you're in with loans and free transfers and once you get into the Championship or especially the Premier League your inherent finances and league reputation will easily do the job to attract and keep talent. Yes, top talent might want to leave after a season or two, but then you just squeeze the top clubs dry and get yourself a new player that's almost as good from somewhere outside England that would love nothing more than join your club because of that sweet sweet Premier League reputation. This would mostly screw with people who aren't managing in England, as thanks to that PL reputation every player is desperate to play there, even if it's a massive step down club wise. You want to make signings hit or miss? Here's how you do that: Remove the hidden stats from scout reports! Player never played outside Brazil? No worries, we know he's highly adaptable! Player played 5 minutes in some youth league? We know he's highly injury prone, better avoid the guy! Player hasn't even made his youth team debut yet? He's highly inconsistent, better look for something else. Player who hasn't gotten a carded once? Oh he's actually a really dirty player, better stay away from him! I'd love to see those things get moved to the data analyst side of things for players who actually have played enough games to analyse it. "Data says this guy gets a lot of cards, this could suggest high dirtiness" etc. That would be an actual start. As it stands we can see most potential red flags if we scout a player to 100% even if it makes no sense that a scout would be able to know these about some youth player. Then, make youth player personalities much more dynamic than they are now. Have most youth players start with not that amazing personalities (I mean, how many 16 year olds really are super professional?) and have their personalities actively develop, with their surroundings having some influence, but most of it being random. Create the chance that you actually get a highly talented youngster who after signing his first pro contract just never develops because he doesn't care. Let the player actually get bitten by newgen Balotelli! In FM we would never let that happen because we wouldn't sign a player who has a poor personality, but if we have no option other than to hope that his personality develops in the right direction we'd have to gamble a lot more. It would probably also reduce the amount of absurdly high CA youngsters, although SI did address that in recent versions a bit by adjusting the development curve. That would make it much less enticing to just mass stack youngsters and you would have to rely a lot more on actually buying already established players, which even with PL money would be quite costly. Then look at making factors like leadership and experience more important so that you can't as easily play with a first eleven of 21 year olds any more and you would actually have to keep some leadership figures around. Also I would say nerf stuff like advanced language courses, it's a bit silly how every player can just be send on them and most will learn the language at some point or another. Have this be something that needs to come from the player themselves, which you can then fund or not and make it so that rather than just adaptability, other personality attributes are worked into this, with for example a highly professional player being far more likely to ask to go on one of these courses and again have this have a proper knock on effect on the field with players taking much longer to gel if they have language issues. As it stands, building a team is simply too easy as it's basically impossible for the player to buy a flop. We know their personality, we know most of their hidden attributes, we know their actual attributes. Hiding star ratings isn't going to do anything when I can see that a player has the right attributes for whatever role I want to play him in. It's not going to change the fact that I can see that there are no hidden attributes that would be an instant red flag. It's not going to change that I can see that he's professional. Of course you can also go the even more extreme step and remove attributes altogether, which some skins do, but at that point you're entering territory that very few FM players want to be in, myself included. But, if you think the game is too easy, I'd say try one of those skins and see how it goes. I honestly couldn't do it.
  19. You were talking about leagues like the Netherlands, Portugal and Scotland in your opening post, so I gave you the latest deal the Eredivisie signed like a week ago in real life, after (by their standards) massive success in their European performances, which still is merely about 1/20th of what the PL makes. France/Italy obviously have a better starting position, but you're still talking about 1/4-1/5th of what the PL earns, which who knows, that could happen, but I doubt it. But obviously, until people actually win continuous CLs with some Italian club we won't know, but in my opinion you're getting your hopes up way too much. Especially if you expect leagues like the Eredivisie to start seeing 1B+ in TV money every year or if you expect Italy/France to quadruple their TV money on their next deal.
  20. I don't think you should be expecting massive changes in TV money. Yes, if you do well it should grow, but in the end nations like the Netherlands, Portugal and so on simply have far smaller markets than the big 5 and the gap in TV money is simply too big. The Eredivisie just signed a new deal, after some amazing performances in Europe and in the end they're getting €135m/year total. That's slightly more than what the lowest PL club gets by themselves. Even if you win the CL a couple times it would make no sense for the TV money to suddenly quintuple so that it looks somewhat competitive with the likes of France and Italy.
  21. In the end it's a grey reseller, they don't get keys directly from SI, so if they're out of stock they're out of stock. Also the reason why the price suddenly jumped up, if they need to buy in extra keys that's going to cost them and without an agreement with SI they can't just buy as many keys as they want at fixed prices from them and have to rely on buying keys from other resellers.
  22. Actually, what happens when you grab a FM23 save with edited DB and update that to FM24, would the Saudi League stick around? And obviously you'll want a transfer update for the FM23 save as well, otherwise Saudi League would suddenly be very uninteresting again.
  23. There is no such thing as an exact player value and the old fixed value was correct about 0% of the time. Both are simply estimates based on some factors under the hood, with the range simply covering a wider range as in the end it's just an estimate.
