  1. But that's how a lot of players are valued nowadays or do you think Frankfurt is a financial powerhouse? No they're not, but they still slapped a €100m price tag on Kolo Muani and guess what, PSG came along and paid up. United went and paid the €100m for Antony. Plenty of Portuguese clubs have sold their players for the relatively absurd release clauses they generally have. The transfer market is nuts in real life and FM is no different. Osimhen is supposedly getting a €130m release clause and expectations are he'll be gone as soon as that clause is active because apparently that's a great deal in the current football world. It is honestly astonishing how many doors open simply by having been a good footballer and here in the Netherlands I see so many fans that want nothing more than every role being filled by an ex player because clearly they must understand football! Apparently there is no better qualification for running a multimillion business which football clubs are than your ability to kick a ball, because apparently even players that clearly don't care about the side of football other than that it makes them a lot of money are somehow automatically capable of being great coaches, have a superb eye for talent and know exactly how to successfully run a football club.
  2. I still train quite a few of my players in Quickness and it still results in some development. With not everyone being absolute pace monsters any more with the way players develop in FM24 even just a couple points honestly isn't too bad. Just gotta keep an eye out as you can hard cap pace and acceleration nowadays, something that usually only happened with Jumping Reach.
  3. There are a ton of factors that go into the ME that you can't influence any more on match day. Also, morale is much more complex than simply "green equals good". If you want to I'm sure someone can win that match for you, but in the end you will have match days where your team simply doesn't show up and by the time the match day arrives it's too late to keep the over confidence, complacency or whatever other factor it is under control. If you're on an otherwise good run just give your team a kick in the arse so they wake up and move on.
  4. Uhmm AI? You alright there? Yes, that's a €55m BONUS for winning the Serie A on a loan without an actual buy option, for a 20 year old that's like their 5th choice at DM. I hope for Lazio they don't win the title this season.
  5. As I said before, this is exactly why SI removed the exact percentages, people got WAY too hung up over it. As Dave said, real life managers would have no issue playing 85-90% condition players and these players will still play perfectly fine. 60% fitness at the end of the game is also perfectly fine and looking at the players you subbed off earlier at around 70% apparently, they still had plenty of steam left. Considering the Gegenpress thread and various other discussions here on the forum the general attitude towards condition is that it's too easy, not too hard, but when people massively overreact to how good a players condition has to be to play him this happens. As Dave put it, FM managers see playing a non 100% condition player as the most horrendous crime they can commit and then wonder why their players can't reach the number of games players play in the PL every season.
  6. Oh boy, I wonder why certain posts got deleted. Surely can't have anything to do with you having a massive attitude, no must be the evil mods silencing you.
  7. Why does the news item about your CL fixtures mentions the 3 lowest coefficient teams you're up against rather than the highest coefficient teams that would actually propose the challenge the news item is talking about?
  8. Well just had this Super Cup final. No, I'm not Spurs. My goalie got a solid 8.2 rating in that match, so sometimes your goalkeeper can be useful! Oh and the Spurs one got a 5.8, apparently AI goalies can have terrible days as well.
  9. I've unsettled quite a lot of players just by throwing lowball offers like the AI loves to do. Obviously not all players will bite, but even then you can unsettle them if you put in the effort. Make them your top target, watch their games, send a scout to watch all their games and you can massively increase the players interest in joining you, then start throwing offers again and hope the player does kick up a tantrum. It will take some time and will cost you more effort than just buying someone that was already transfer listed anyway, but the tools exist to make these big transfers happen.
  10. Then go unsettle the player, get them to request a transfer and force the AI to sell. As long as the player is perfectly happy why would the AI not just say "Not for sale unless you come with something stupid".
  11. I've managed to get out of the CL group stages after a couple seasons with an Icelandic youth only save with a set up like that way back in FM17 or FM18 with a team that starts in the second division, the game has always been stupidly easy when set up like this because teams in inactive leagues simply do not function properly.
  12. You only have a single nation loaded. You will never get representative results in international football with a set up like that.
  13. Uhmm, did the PL perhaps get the extra CL spot from coefficients? With the new system the 2 countries with the best coefficients get an extra spot the next season and most seasons the PL is one of the two. That would give you Newcastles EL spot as they go into the CL.
  14. That's rough, don't think I've ever seen the 6th in the PL not qualify for Europe (and neither has SI apparently ).
  15. Where is the second EL spot though? Did a Championship club win the FA cup?
  16. But it does happen in real life. There's frequently young players that are sold with massive bonuses as part of the transfer of which barely any get paid because the player never develops. Dele Alli was sold for nothing with only appearance fee related bonuses and I highly doubt Everton will ever pay most of those as he is just wasting away on the bench. Also in real life Real would never sell Bellingham to save a couple millions because, well it's Bellingham and how the hell would you replace him? If you want to game the system there are tons of ways to do it and SI will (and should) not implement unrealistic stopgaps because players cheese the game. The AI already values future clauses less than just hard cash and you can argue whether that valuation should be lowered or whether the AI should want a minimum fee in straight cash, but limiting stuff like buying youngsters with heavy future bonuses, which is a completely normal thing, because some people abuse the system should not be how things work.
  17. Obviously it's hard to tell how big of a thing it is, but from my general experience I do feel like confidence during the match can fluctuate quite heavily, with goals obviously having a major impact on this and with one team losing confidence and the other gaining quite a bit of confidence you can have period of times where you just get completely overrun.
  18. It's definitely not normal, although technically there is no real limit on how many assistant managers you can have either (outside of your coaching staff cap obviously). No clue why your DoF is so hung up on hiring AssMans, perhaps he considers it easier to find good targets as there are plenty of targets around with good stats for AssMan, compared to good stats for being actual coaches? Honestly, no clue. I'd throw a save in SI's direction, while there's nothing wrong technically, this doesn't look like intended behaviour.
  19. Basically whenever you make an offer their agent will tout your offer around and go "look, last chance or this guy is signing with this other team!" and the AI takes the bait. The AI is probably coded to have some tipping point of interest on where they offer a contract so they will have a bunch of players they are interested in, but not over the tipping point, until somebody makes an offer and pushes things over said tipping point. At which point they suddenly make an offer in the fear of losing a potentially signing, despite staring at him for 3 months already and not considering him quite interesting enough to actually make a move prior to your offer.
  20. There is "Pressure" which dictates how well players can handle stressful situations. Not sure how you did in the first 2 seasons, but if this is the first time for most of your players that they are actually in a title battle the pressure near the end of the season will be massive, so conceding a goal can shatter whatever confidence your team built for that game, especially since you're also playing away. Add to that how strong momentum can be and suddenly you find Arsenal/City pushing forward with belief, backed by their fans while your side potentially cracks under pressure, resulting in your team throwing it all away in a matter of minutes. Honestly, going up against City/Arsenal away late in the season during the deciding moments of the title race is some seriously nasty scheduling you got dished out.
  21. In the Set Piece creator click on your routine. You can either save the individual routine or save a package of all your routines.
  22. Obviously there are a lot of factors you need to pay attention to as manager, especially when massively over performing with a weaker team, but the suggestion that there is some sort of script that holds you back to "guarantee somewhat realistic results" or that the AI figures out and somehow manages to counter your tactics just doesn't exist. There is a massive difference between your team starting to struggle breaking down defenses because opponents play more cautiously against you and your team not having the raw quality to just overwhelm a team parking the bus resulting in a streak of poor results and the suggestion that the game at some point flags teams for over performing and nerfs them to drag their performance down to more realistic levels and that is why their results are suddenly worse.
  23. According to the in game news I have to pay Besiktas €22m for the profit I'm going to make for this guy leaving on a free transfer? Same thing happens when Barcelona offers him a contract a day later.
  24. The AI does not figure out your tactics. Nor does something like a "mid season slump script" exist as some other user is claiming. The AI will adjust how they play against you when you are over performing, which results in them approaching games against you more cautiously, making it harder to score. Also, looking at your first streak, you had a loss against CP, 3 easier opponents and admittedly a very good away win against Spurs. Then the second streak was a number of away games where you generally struggle (and FM has a bit of history with away teams being awful) and home games against generally solid opposition in United, Liverpool and Newcastle. Are those results really that strange? Especially as it's during a much more crowded period in the season, where you have to deal with fatigue and player rotation. Except for the Leeds matches are those results really that surprising?
