  1. Hey guys, I would like to ask you guys for some advice on signing young players with bad personalities, as I don't have much experience in this area. My question is if I sign an U18s player with a bad personality like unambitious or temperamental, is there a chance that if I put them in the right mentoring groups, that they will eventually evolve and have a better personality in the future? For example, in my current save I have a 17 year old striker in my shortlist that has some great attributes but his personality is fickle. Is it a good idea to sign this player or do you think I should stay away from him altogether?
  2. My first post in this forum was on this topic, and I got some very interesting responses. Someone said that because SI are always trying to attract new players with every new release they will just keep making the game easier and easier, and I have come to accept that. It was also very interesting hearing from people who have been playing this game for 20 years, and they say that they have definitely noticed the game getting much easier over the last decade or so. In the end I was just relieved that there are people out there who are experiencing the same thing and agree with me. This is the main reason why I'm skipping FM24 this year. I do wonder in the future are SI going to gain new fans quicker or lose older fans quicker by constantly making the game easier.
  3. I can definitely sympathise with the OP, I am someone who is a bit obsessed with realism in games and when something like this happens it does sort of ruin the immersive-ness of the game, and I'm suddenly reminded that I'm in a video game. It's like the game is trying to suggest that someone like Mikel Arteta is a bad manager. It's also frustrating when the opposite happens, where one manager or one team in the league is completely overpowered, like Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp have been in FM22 and FM23.
  4. When you are using Inverted Wingers and Inside Forwards you simply cannot also use inverted wingbacks as well, that just makes the tactic far too narrow and they are never going to score goals. So I would change the wide players to Inside Forwards on attack, and change the IWBs to full-backs on support. In my experience a BBM has never worked in a 433 so I would change that to a CM on attack. For your team instructions I would go Regroup and Counter, and do Mid-block and lower defensive line.
  5. Hey guys, I have been playing Football Manager for about 10 years now and, I think like a lot of players, there are a few parts of the game that I have always ignored. But recently I became curious about the Training Units section, and that's a part of the game that I never bothered looking into until now. So I wanted to ask and see if any of you guys actually use this feature of the game, and what I want to know is does changing players' training units actually help with their development? For example, if one of my players is training as a Complete Wing-Back on Attack, then should he be in the attacking unit? Does it actually make any difference, or should I just keep ignoring this part of the game?
  6. Players' attributes dropping half way through a season is something that really annoys me, and from reading various forums I've found a lot of other people are too. This is something that I have done quite a bit of research on and I have found numerous reasons as to why it happens, including a player playing in a league that is lower than the level they should be playing at, and players not receiving regular playing time. But recently I have found another potential reason or cause for players declining. Apparently, if one of your players perform really well in a match and gets a match rating of 8.5 or something, and you rest them for the next match without warning them, they will start to decline. This is something that I recently discovered in my save, but I don't think many people know about it.
  7. I read in an earlier post that a user skipped FM23 because they thought that the game had become too easy. So for anyone who has never seen how easy this most recent release of Football Manager is, or anyone who is relatively new to the game, I have actually recently found a video on Zealand's channel that perfectly illustrates the issue. In this stream Zealand was challenging for the title with Taunton, and their closest challengers were Liverpool. But notice how Liverpool only really CHALLENGES Zealand up until match 30 in the season, but for whatever reason they just wither and crumble after that, and in the end Zealand actually strolled to the finishing line. It was not tense at all in the last few matches. I would love to see SI fix this somehow in FM25 and beyond, so that the teams that are challenging you at the top can put up a bit more of a fight, especially towards the end of the season. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_V7nckpvL0
  8. This problem is the main reason why I will be skipping FM24. I just really hope that in FM25 they make winning a league title challenging, so that after you win the league it feels like you've done something quite impressive. Because at the moment most very good and experienced players say that they can win league titles in their sleep, but that shouldn't be the case. It's supposed to be a title CHALLENGE, not a walk in the park.
  9. After reading this thread I have noticed that a lot of people are annoyed by stupid and repetitive questions from the press, and that's the thing that annoys me the most too. For example, every time a manager in the league overachieves, the press would ask you for your take on it. And if you decide to compliment that manager, the next question they ask you is ALWAYS, "Don't you think you are being patronising?" Every time that question comes up I get the urge to storm out. Why does it have to come up every single time?
  10. Hey guys I just want to get you guys' opinions and advice on what is the best way to receive scout reports. Because at the moment I am getting all of them directly into my inbox every week and I get like 20 of them at once, and most of them are of players that are already in my shortlist so I don't even need them. So have any of you guys found alternative or better ways to receiving scout reports, as opposed to getting bombarded by them in your inbox every week?
  11. Thanks for the replies guys. The main problem that I have is not with how the AI plays against me, but it's with the other matches that are being simulated on match days. Every time I start challenging for the title it's like the game just breaks and the other results on match days become so unrealistic. Have any of you guys experienced or seen a situation in the game where one season the top teams would get 90+ points, and the next season they get 70+ points, and you can effectively win the league with 80 points or so? That is a massive drop off!
  12. Hey guys. I have been experiencing this problem on Football Manager over the last 2 years, and it's extremely annoying. Basically, the problem is every time I develop and improve a team in the Premiere League to the point where we're good enough to challenge for the title, the other top teams like Liverpool and Man City just start dropping off drastically and they basically let me win the league. For example, if I'm a mid-table team, the league simulates perfectly normally, and teams like Liverpool and Man City would finish on 90+ points. However, every time I start challenging the top teams for the title, teams like Man City would often drop points against very weak teams in the league and it won't even matter if I win my matches or not, the top teams will just let me take the lead and stay in the lead. And at the end of the season, if my team has 82 points, Man City and Liverpool would finish somewhere around 79 points. I just wanted to reach out to you guys in the community to see if this is a common problem. I wasn't sure where I was supposed to even make this post, because I don't know if this is a bug/glitch, or if SI has intentionally programmed the game like this. And if this is by design, then why have SI made it so easy to win the league title? Nowadays I find that I'm only enjoying the game if I'm managing a smaller and weaker team, because once I become a very strong team the game becomes far too easy.
