  1. Morale plays quite a role in FM - albeit i allways find it more easy to bolster my teams morale than to hamper the opponents morale.
  2. Imo some players are tired/fatigued as it happened as there was a tight schedule and maybe if you wee running mostly on morale it broke the camels back?
  3. I dont know that, i sometimes get a message the club broke a new matchday club gate receipts record. If you know the number of fans that visited the match you can use the avg entrance fee to get a clue i guess. And in the finances are the monthly gate receipts so if you track them you see the difference between the numbers. If there is somewhere a list that tracks matchdayincomes - i have not found it since i started play this game with FM13. So i am curious myself
  4. Does maybe the option in the preferences to limit your FPS to a certain set amount help to avoid overheating your Computer? I myelf run the game on 30 FPS and it is cool a the northpole but i havent run it lately so i dont know if the update changed something in that regard...
  5. What i wonder is, do shots that miss the goal count for xg? Bcs the players seem to miss extraordinarily good chances quite a lot when you have many chances - so "shots on goal" is often only maybe 5 to 10 and that would be quite a good xg i guess.
  6. Yep but i.e. many playres play journeyman careers it seems and managing a nationalteam should be seamless increase the chances for a journeyman manager to get in good realtions with some of the better players of a nation and be able to hire them on their next club station. The two modes should handshake with each other and about the licensing i have no clue who has the rights you need but it can not be worse as the status quo atm is - it can only be the same or better. There are quite some possibilities if you think of it!
  7. Only if they solve the reasons national team management is atm not fun. So they had to improve several things like the whole cumbersome managemant part that appears to be tacked on so you have to learn managing a national team like it is a different game i.e.
  8. I really feel, SI should change the way they release the game to a longer cycle with database updates every other year. What i think is SI misses out on the EM/WM oportunities and does not capitalize on them. In between they should release major versions of football manager and in the EM/WM season they should release a EM/WM Version with a database update for the manager game. I totally agree that nobody plays national teams - i have not done it in a long time bcs the way they play sucks and that is the problem! But is the solution to ignore the problem or is the solution trying to solve the problem?
  9. Some general feedback on this game and the genre: I doubt that making this game FIFA Manager will help this game. The reason is that we had already a FIFA-Manager in the past and that FM has lost to the SI FM. EA admits defeat to SEGA’s Football Manager, no more FIFA Manager series » SEGAbits - #1 Source for SEGA News I payed the EA Manager for many years bcs the SI Manager was unavailable in germany and the EA Manager was graphically advanced and had more options to build a club in detail like the club grounds, the stadium etc. That manager ran at some point on the engine of the EA FIFA Football game, albeit an older version bcs they had each year to wait for the engine to be developed and than adjust the manager for it so at some point it did no longer work out and they were behind several versions of the FIFA Engine when the EA Manager series ended. Also the game had to be dumbed down - it had never as many individual stats as the SI Manager but still a good plethora of them and many of them had a some point an influence till in the end maybe speed, strenght, stamina and technic were left influential - the games were becoming more arcadish for that reason. The EA Manager had at some point in his career the option that the player could take a player role in his club and play the games himself. Neither that nor the advanced graphical engine saved the EA Manager from losing the FM battle! People that play SI Football Manager and people that play FIFA Football seem to me in majority two different pools of players and i dont know the technical requirements for FIFA but i know that the SI Manager can be played on almost every PC around so upping the engine to a much more demanding one may actually hurt the SI FM dramatically and end the Series. The people that like to play an arcade football manager play already a certain pretty simple FIFA Mode - why would they want to change, pay twice to buy a much more thought demanding product that is quite foreign them? I therefore do not see how a switch of the engine would increase the quality and quantitiy of SI FM.
  10. You can loan as many players as you want as long it is within the rules and regulations! Eintracht Frankfurt has most of the times 4 to 6 players they loaned and in 1 season it was 7 loan players and it was of the more successful times in the younger club history. Also there are some clubs that loan out dozens of players as it is their businessmodel but the football associations have made rules to prevent excessive loan player hoarding. The player above does not look that spectacular - i have seen some such guys in Tier 4 in germany so why would he not move out on loan if he is desperate for playing matches?
  11. Imo, in the day of the almost completely datadriven football - how can you not have data about the attributes of a player? Measuring the athletics is very easy, even amateur clubs can do that, fatigue is a bit more scientific but nowadays a semi pro can do that routinely, and give you out values broken down to the 0.001 percentil. Mental and technical stats are a bit less obvious but even there you can estimate a player accurately lets say in a 10 star rating with individual traits becoming obvious the moment the players is seriously scouted. I really do not see why you would not use stats every good sorted football club in real life has in abundance in a good to etremely accurate quality? The problems in modern fooball occur not on the data side but on the decisionmakers motivational side - some people work not for the clubs they contracted to but for themself, some for thier ego, some appease the networks they belong to etc. But the data is there!
  12. I wonder if attacking and defensive in that context means the tactical style or the number of goals you score and concede - in your case they maybe want you to win with with a big goal difference while not exceeding a number of goals against you?
  13. I dont know the youth situation in league two but in my lower league journeys the youth team usually produces no usable player and i make them all free agents, have minimal staff (only the HoY who also may be youth assistant manager) and get some better youth players for free or very little transfer fee that also acts as subs if my first team has an injuy crisis or to many matches in short time and is fatigued.
  14. Yeah, my defenders belong unlike older FMs to the more fatigued players thought they have also often less stamina than other players. And in regard to the avg matchrating it seems air superiority is very helpful - it seems to me heading challenges occur more often than in older FMs. I almost allways regret when i have to sub in a player that is weaker in heading in the defense.
  15. The 1.Bundesliga may do well but it is in decline, the 2.Bundesliga you can live from but 3.Liga is a financial disaster as is any amateur league as the expenses surpass the income especially since the C-issue. There is no trickling down, there is trickling up! And the pro fottball is the vampire of the amateur football in germany that do not participate for an obscure contract clause in any income increase as there is an upper limit set not in percent of income but in an absolute number and the DFB who is the association for the amateur clubs and should act as agent for them sold them out to the pro football teams while they also have less matchday income as the pro football started to cover all amateur football dates and hours and the model you go to your club, play amateur foootball and then watch pro sport after or before your match no longer works and the players and visitors fade away from amateur football. German football is way over romantisized for a fraction of the clubs have a good life at the cost of the amateurs bleeding dry by competing with them for matchdates and visitors and not handing out the appropriate money to compensate for that!
  16. I have only the general number out of an german news article that was about payments in the amateur leagues and it mentioned these numbers. Was verdienen Amateurfußballer? So viel Geld fließt in der 6. Liga - Sportbuzzer.de Hope you can read german or the translator works well...
  17. All i can say is that the "distribute quickly" setting casts a honeypot of errors and seomtimes some settings better stay disabled - at least for me. My GKs tend to do stupid things with it enabled and i concede stupid goals while with it disabled i dont see any slower ballplay via the GK but with way less errors!
  18. Afair there is or was some law in the EU that prohibits very long contracts in football (maybe profi sport general) in some way as they are against the freedom of work (whatever that is called in english i do not know it). Since UK has left the EU possibly this law no longer affects them... But i think 5yrs were the upper contract length possible.
  19. I have seen a few times the offside situation measured on the wrong step like the pre assist and the final pass receiver stood many yards in the offside but the lines appeared for the pass giver not the pass receiver. Also it is so coded that errors in judgement may happen afaik...
  20. Well, i remember a time in the 1980s and a guy i did know from Fooball wanted to become president in a lower league club. His motivation was not honorable bcs he wanted to do it as the club was financially excellent situated as it had many friends and patrons and sponsors that gave money to it. It was a Tier 5 Club at that time and the president alone would have had a budget of 50k to spend on his discretion. Gladly for the club the presidency got to another person and the guy i mentioned was going to Jail some years later for fraud with car insurances. There are Clubs in each league that are richer than others or poorer than others. In 2020 Amateur Clubs in germany have spend almost 40k as anual budget and an an anual income of ~39k p.a in avg. Ofc players get additional money from Sponsors and Patrons that do not appear in he club budget like signing fees or Jobs at full wage they only partially work in if at all. The expenses in FM23 for low league amateur clubs are way higher than in reality so the finances need to be adjusted by the same amount. Imho reality is a matter of balancing the numbers so that they make sense in regard to the expenses you have in the game and the other clubs in your league and these expenses are lets say 300k p.a. for all the stuff (i assume that bcs i made 100k profit in my first year in Tier 6 with ~300k sponsoring and maybe 50k matchday and other income). That means your expenses ingame are ten times the expenses in reality so you must generate ten time the income to have it make sense. And the scouting budget adjustments is one tool that helps you to make numbers that make no sense to numbers that are at least sensible balanced (ten times higher budget vs ten times higher expenses)! And my wage was 60k or so for that year...bcs the wages are to high a well, a german amateur kicker gets 250 to 1000 Euro p.a. from the club in avg. and not per game like in FM23. Ofc each Tier higher in the lower leagues means doubling the wages until you get into the pro leagues so at some point the budgets become more close to realism than in the lowest tiers. In 3.Liga where i currently sit my Club is the poorest with 400k sponsoreing income, ~1800 paying Fans per Matchday in my new 5131 seater stadium (i guess it is all seats) and 730k p.a. wages and i make a financial loss of 500k p.a. and be close to administration bcs my club was forced to build a new stadium according to 3.Liga rules as the 2000 people stadium was not good enough but i do not get the income to pay the bill for it. Player transfer sales are extremely bad as my reputation is low and the transfer fees are most like 10 to 20k and only 1 players, the best striker i ever had, went for 130k (and tenfolds in value bcs of the reputation of the other club), that happens not even every year but every 3 to 5 years and the only thing keeping me afloat is the cup where i get 200k or 300k from the DFB Pokal when i win the Amateur Cup and qualify for the Big Boys Cup Trophy. The only longterm solution is to win promotion bcs it is still 5 more years with the stadium credit and i can only make 2 or 3 more years until i am done financially when i stay in the league. Which is quite real in a sense the 3.Liga germany is the league of financial death and quite some clubs have found their graveyard there bcs the income is to low compared to the efforts and spending the regulations enforce upon you. This year it may happen that promotion is possible - only 1 year 2.Bundesliga will solve all my financial trouble bcs you get 20 times more money there - the TV money from 1 season will pay off the new stadium! PS: 3.Liga TV Money is 900k to 1000k p.a. per Club that is not a reserve club. In 2.Bundesliga it is around 12 Million p.a. plus success rewards and way higher ticket prices and more visitors etc.
  21. I really have no success with Strikers that have the "Beats Offside Trap" quirk (in no FM i ever played). They do not shot more goals but a whole bunch of them will be disallowed so they score less goals that count. I thought with no offside trap to set in the tactics it would be worth to look again into it but no - a real good (for my league) and expensive Striker with that quirk is the same burden to my team as allways. Yes he becomes the top scorer of the team but that is bcs he shots many goals in a few matches when his goals do not get dissalowed and overall it was a mess, i got almost relegated and almost lost my job. The only workaround is to put him into a position where he can not run offside many times but then you do not need the quirk.
  22. A drive storage or updates issue? Once in a while my PC hangs a little while playing FM and it seems that upates of other software especially windows slow it down even if i have them set to not update while gaming. Also i encountered an issue that my SSD tends to stall the PC (i runs like a C64 then with stuttering 5 FPS) when i put it into the slot below the GPU (could be either a heat issue or a CPU-PCI-Lane issue bcs the other slot runs via the chipset and i have 99% less trouble with that). Win 10 is also known for not handling well some SSDs that run as System SSD as it overloads the cache with to frequent access to fast, Win 11 is only a little better - i regret not having taken a Samsung SSD i know would have run without issue as my old SATA-SSD Samsung EVO 850 had no issue to run as system drive at all and never slowed the system down yet the modern NVME Drive runs like crap as system SSD. Well, lesson learned, next SSD System drive will be another one.
  23. Well, in germany my experience is that around 16th to 19th of June the transition into the new season happens, the budget ist usually already updatet at that time, you get your new league schedule and be recognized as promoted/relegated team and you can make contracts for the coming season while the transfermarket is still ~2weeks closed. Dont know if it is different in other leagues but it appears to me as not a problem in the way it works as i described. Leagues with a different schedule may have a problem?
