  1. Ah screw it, I'm back in England with Folkestone Invicta.
  2. I had just about forgot about this issue, since I worked around it by making sure I didn't have the database up when I essentially discarded all recent changes. I had a go at retesting it now, and I can't seem to be able to reproduce it in 22.4. I reported this issue at 22.1, so I think some other change has fixed this issue as well. I doubt this is a common error, but I had it a few times when I screwed up my database and had to revert to a previous save, so I experienced it a few times in a row when testing out some changes that screwed up what I wanted to do. So you can certainly close off this issue as fixed. If I am to rediscover it or anything resembling it, I'll make sure to post another issue and try to refer back to this. Thanks
  3. XaW - Marbella FC - Season 2026/27 - LaLiga SmartBank Squad | Transfers | Finances After the great promotion last season, I braced myself for a long and hard season with a possible relegation at the end. However, we really found ourselves being comfortable at this level and we didn't struggle at all. Quite surprising, but the team seems to function exceptionally well. So for the entire season we hovered around the lower playoff spots. Mallorca, Málaga, and Tenerife were clearly the best teams in the league, but other than those, we showed we could compete with the rest. Going into the final stages we had a close battle with Real Oviedo for the final playoff spot, and even with a draw in the final match, we got it. So into the playoff we went. We got Tenerife in the semi final, and they beat us 1-2 at home and then 2-4 away when we pushed to equalize. So no promotion for us, but still an amazing season. Financially, things are looking much better now. After a director took over the club and restructured a loan to get us out of debt, I were unsure how the long term would be, but the TV money from LaLiga2 more than keeps us afloat, at least for the time being. Copa del Rey: We beat Alzira and Guijuelo before we got thumped by Real Madrid in the 3rd round. Standout players: Quite a few of the youth players are key for us now. Seyba Kouyaté 23c had another strong season, and the same is true for Tore André Fjellsbø 24c who could be leaving us this summer. Nantes has triggered his minimum fee release clause, but I've offered him a new and better contract with a significant wage increase, so I might get to keep him still! At least I hope so. Kingsley Torres 25b has emerged as our first choice right back and has had a good development this season. Samuel López 24b is our DM and has also deputized in the defense at times. Other who have had big roles this season include Pelayo Calderón 23a, Benjamín Peluas 24d, and Bruno Abogo 26b. Youth intake: The previews keep looking promising. This intake was a bit more promising than the last few. He might not be the best, but a Sri Lankan is always fun. I had to shorten his name to actually make it fit! Trophy cabinet N/A
  4. When you look, at what time frame are you selecting? Last month vs all time is a major difference. See the screenshots below for an example. Big changes takes time, but also a real effort to give the player the correct amount of challenge. Before 18 training is key, but after 18 they need to play matches at a suitable level for them.
  5. XaW - Marbella FC - Season 2025/26 - Primera División RFEF Grupo II Squad | Transfers | Finances With last seasons good effort in mind, we went into the new season with the hope of doing it even better this time around. And we really delivered on that hope! From the outset we seemed to be playing at a higher level than last season, and a few of the youth players have grown more mature, and less prone to personal errors. Probably due to this, we conceded a lot less this season than the last, and in doing so we stayed around the top of the table for the entire season. Of course, I don't think we ever had the actual top spot, because Barcelona B was back here... Still, we continued to play well and in the closing stages we were quite comfortably in the playoff spots. Eventually, we fought Badajoz and Hércules de Alicante for the 2nd spot behind Barcelona B, and we held on and kept the 2nd place on goal difference since our head to head with Badajoz was tied. So into the playoff we went. In the semi final we beat Logroñés quite comfortably, and then we beat Badajoz in the final to clinch a semi surprising promotion into LaLiga 2! I think we are going to struggle next season, but a promotion is always welcome! Copa del Rey: We beat Ceuta and then Leganés from the tier above us before we got a massive opponent. We drew Barcelona at home! Turns out we didn't make much money from it for some reason, but we managed to hold them to 0-2 at least! Standout players: More youth players have become first team regulars this season. In addition to Seyba Kouyaté 23c and Tore André Fjellsbø 24c in the heart of the defense, we also have Samuel López 24b who has deputized in their absence a few times, but also played a lot in the DM role. Pelayo Calderón 23a started as a sub, but eventually made the right wing role his own with some great matches. Others who have had quite a few matches include Benjamín Peluas 24d, Víctor Cuervo 24a, and Kingsley Torres 25b. Youth intake: The previews keep looking promising. And the actual intakes are a bit disappointing. Bruno Abogo 26b has a very nice attribute spread (other than vision) for an inside forward. Trophy cabinet N/A
  6. Probably, but we can't talk about things that impacts licenses here on the forums, sorry. You'll have to ask Google.
  7. The 5 sub change was put into the rules AFTER the final update to FM22. So it's not present in the game. What @fc.cadoniis referring to is that all new rules after the final update will be updated in a future game if there is one (there has been no announcements of a new FM yet). They also changed how DYR is working now compared to release, but I haven't heard much about how it works now, as I don't look at the numbers behind when I play.
  8. XaW - Marbella FC - Season 2024/25 - Primera División RFEF Grupo II Squad | Transfers | Finances After we finished just above the relegation zone last season, this was a real big step up. For a time it looked like we could get into the promotion playoff, but a very tough February dropped us down and we couldn't catch up again. Still, a 7th place is excellent for a club of our stature. One big issue we have is still the financial situation. We are losing a lot of money every month, and we are millions in debt. So the board understandably slashed out wage budget from about £60k p/w to £30k p/w. Now, I had cut a lot and our actual wage was down to about £38k p/w, but now after the slashing they are unhappy with how I manage the wage budget. Thanks a lot... The major issue is that I can't extend contracts, since will only allow for £220 p/w, and the older players are on several times that and it's just insulting to offer them that. So I might lose a lot of the original squad this summer, unless the board allows for something new. Copa del Rey: For whatever reason we didn't play in the cup this year. Standout players: Seyba Kouyaté 23c had another strong season in the heart of the defense, but this time he was joined by my Norwegian compatriot Tore André Fjellsbø 24c. So the defenders have been quite young this season, but they've grown into their roles. Also Adri Morales 23d and Víctor Cuervo 24a have played a lot, although not as first team players. Youth intake: A good preview, although central midfielders weren't the position we needed the most. I had hoped for more. Really, with the facilities and youth setup as good as we have, we should get better than this. Our Model Professional HoYD at least put his stamp on the personalities! He is clearly an AM, but I don't use that role, so I'm not sure where I want to play him. Perhaps as a playmaking striker... Trophy cabinet N/A
  9. Also, the term "slow" is quite subjective for a game like this. For some waiting 5 seconds are slow, while others are happy to wait a few minutes. That's why it's so hard to answer how fast or slow any database on any computer actually is.
  10. It's described in the first post. Find the nation you want to manage in, start the game with all leagues in that country loaded up (and others if you like), then holiday a full season and take over a newly promoted team to the bottom league.
  11. I think you are looking in the wrong place, for mac this is where the user files should be: - Open Finder. - Click the ‘Go’ menu in the menubar. - Press and hold down the ‘Option’ (Alt) key. - Click the ‘Library’ item in the menu. - Go into the folder named ‘Application Support’ then ‘Sports Interactive’ - Click into the ‘Football Manager 2022’ folder
  12. One of my young wingers just scored this beauty! Cheeky finish there, lad!
  13. Data Hub -> Next opposition is the place, if I understand you correctly.
  14. You can ask for foreign ones by asking for something along the lines of expanding the scouting network. I can't remember the exact wording, but something like that.
  15. From the Online Manual you can read this description: https://community.sigames.com/sigames-manual/football-manager-2022/players-r4507/
  16. XaW - Marbella FC - Season 2023/24 - Primera División RFEF Grupo II Squad | Transfers | Finances The higher tier was a rough change of skill for us. While we did have the occasional blip last season, this time we actually struggled at times. We rarely found ourselves in the relegation zone though, but we were rarely well clear of it either, so it was quite a stressful season in that regard. I think the tactic I've sat up is still working, but the quality of players is so much higher in the other teams at this level. Guess this means we have to survive a few season while we, hopefully, get in more talented players. Another annoyance is the B-teams, not because they always are good, as evident by the 3 relegated ones, but because they have a player or two vastly above the level of everyone else in this tier and those players so often pop up with a goal or amazing skill to get a goal out of nowhere. We had a few draws against the poorer B-teams where they had an excellent defender or striker who just stopped us scoring or put a goal in the back of our net to leave us with a draw when we clearly outplayed them. 4 (possibly 5 if Valencia Mestalla wins the playoff) out of 8 of them are leaving the division this season, so we might get fewer next season, depending on promotions and relegations. At least Barcelona B is out of here, they were way too good for this league! Copa del Rey: We beat Quintanar del Rey before losing to Leganés in the 2nd round. Standout players: Not many of the youth players have had much of an impact yet, other than emergency solutions. However, Seyba Kouyaté 23c has had an excellent season for us despite being only 16 still. He played mostly on the right fullback role, but due to his increased skill, I've moved him into the centre of the defense to great success. He also has been capped by Mali U20 a couple of times. I've signed him to a long term contract starting this summer, and I hope to keep him for a long time. Youth intake: A much better preview than last season and it really got my hopes up. I won't say I'm disappointed, but the excellent preview gave me even higher hopes for what would come. Samuel López 24b is an excellent player. He can fit into both the central defense, and as the DM in our team, so I envision he will get a lot of game time next season in various roles. Trophy cabinet N/A
  17. Because the xG story shows it. Small increases = low xG = poor chances. Big increases = high xG = big chances. In this picture I've highlighted the biggest chances for each team in a red box: Now, you can score from small chances, but you would rather have 2 chances of a 0.5 xG, rather than 10 of 0.1 xG. Especially if you don't have a world class finisher (who are more likely to finish low xG chances).

  19. Looking at the match story, you are creating loads of chances, but very poor ones. There is a decent one at the start and one half way into the first half, but other than that mostly minimal chances it seems. Small chances are very unlikely to score, so you should try to analyse your attacks, and see if your tactic is too tempo heavy so your players take poor chances rather than be patient enough to create big ones. How do the chances play out. Crosses and headers from pressed positions? Shots from poor angles? Long shots?
  20. While it can be used as a way to shut people down, the term is not a "style phrase", it's an actual psychological aspect of a cognitive bias. As for the opening post; No, there are no types of mechanics to injure key players before big matches. That's not how the game works, as has been confirmed by SI several times over and over.
  21. Playing Barcelona B in the 3rd tier feels like playing against a cheater. Just lost 0-5 at home, but it's not hard to understand why when I'm facing players like this!
