  1. The Free-Kick attribute is the important attribute. Technique will determine how much curl a player can generate.
  2. Will this not generate a new world with newgens capped at 140 CA? It used to be 130, but it was upped to 140 CA, IIRC. I know it does that with a 'normal' database, so I'm a little curious.
  3. I don't care too much about footedness on my centrebacks, but I do pay attention to it pretty much everywhere else. For example, last season, I mirrored my tactic so that I could use my left footed Mezzala on the left. He kept getting chances, but usually when pushed toward the outside on his weaker right foot. In the mirrored tactic, he's now getting similar chances, but they are on his left foot, so he's been scoring more.
  4. Okay, so definitely far too aggressive. You don't have a team good enough to try and do what you're doing. You're competing against teams who are mostly better than you are. Paris SG might play this way. Paris FC do not have the players to enforce this or the respect to allow this type of play. You are predicted 14th out of 18 and 200-1 to win the league so you are one of the worst teams in the league. Fortunately, there seems to be a few (8 or 9 teams) who are not too far off your squad's ability. Home teams tend to be more aggressive at home, and with where you're predicted to finish, most home teams will be against you. This could turn your matches into a lottery. The results you're getting away from home are more realistic than what you're getting at home, tbh. Teams are too passive when they play away from home, making home matches easier to dominate. The problem is that you're trying to dominate everyone you're playing against away from home, which is going to be problematic as they're mostly going to try and do the same against a relegation candidate. You might be able to play this way against some teams, but it's best (imo) to set up a more suitable tactic or at least dial this one down a bit for the difficult away matches.
  5. Where are you predicted to finish? It seems extremely aggressive for a team only 2 seasons into a new division.
  6. Ok, understood. I think I've had that happen when I click just before a highlight starts. Highlights usually (always?) start with a set-piece (goal kick, free kick or throw in) so any shout done before the highlight should kick in just as the highlight start. Clicking it a few milliseconds before it starts is the 'issue' here, I think. A pop-up is not a bad idea. Now it's for SI to review.
  7. It is something that 'kicks in' at the next stoppage in play. To avoid what happened to you - If I want to use a touchline shout and there's a highlight playing, I wait until the end of the highlight before using it.
  8. It's not going to really answer your question directly, but coaches can be useful here. If I have a striker that I want to learn "places shots", they will reply with something along the lines of "it suits players with good technique" or "it doesn't suit him because he lacks Technique". This way, it's possible to figure out what trait suits which players.
  9. It might be a bug or something else is happening because it's an attacking throw in and not a 'normal' throw in. I'll pay more attention to mine tonight. I know that if you have a free kick in the attacking third and it's wide of the box, it uses your corner settings. Could be that something like that happens when it's an attacking throw in. I don't have the game open, so can't check.
  10. Tactical familiarity didn't help you in the Perugia match. You D-line was too high to cope with their counter attacks which led to Araujo struggling. Del Patro had a nightmare match, possibly due to tactical familiarity, but not sure. He got caught in possession early on and was caught on when the striker he was marking lost him for the first goal. Your tempo doesn't help in this match. Just in the first 7 minutes, you were almost dispossessed twice by your players holding onto the ball for too long. You can also see they counter attacked in transition. Their 2 strikers and 1 AMC quickly became 3 up top against your two defenders. There were times even when they weren't counter attacking when this happened as well but less often. I will concede that the long shot for goal #2 was unlucky and probably not very much your can do about. Goal #3 from the goal kick also looked unlucky, but could be due to tactical familiarity or miscommunication by the 2 defenders. Tactical familiarity must have been low, correct? I keep seeing slow or poor decision making. Poor passes, taking too long on the ball, taking too long to make a decision to pass etc. It's either that or the lower tempo. Possibly both. That isn't very compact. This was from a goal kick. This is a counter attacking disaster waiting to happen. If they get the ball here, they can cause big problems. After the red card, they became even more defensive and compact, but you still tried to counter attack them. That lead to your team either running into a brick wall or trying a long shot. In the Brescia match you can see, as you found out, that this is too dangerous: This setup leaves their striker 1 v 1 with your defender, Araujo. Is he new? He seems to struggle a lot and is always a second too slow. Brescia's last goal shows poor pressing from your team and then getting caught out with your high line. The pressing seems a second too slow. Tight marking perhaps? A bit more urgent pressing? Not something I've paid too much attention to, but something to keep an eye on going forward. Still think your d-line is too high. There's a lot of space behind your fullback and that left winger is about to make the run. Their midfielder also has all the time in the world (caused by the poor pressing) to time the pass to perfection. I've always believed that there's a relationship between the amount of pressing and where the D-line is. The higher your D-line, the more pressing you need, otherwise you can cause issues like this. Keep an eye on it. I'm a more cautious manager in general, so my first instinct would be to drop the D-line, but others might prefer increasing the pressing. It's not the end of the world. There seems to be a couple of issues and a couple of unlucky goals conceded. Araujo feels like he's new and still trying to settle in. Your D-line might be too high. Counter attacking teams who are ready for it leads to poor attacks. The other issue is against teams with 2 strikers and an AMC. They overload your 2 central defenders. Against these systems, try to have more protection at the back. A more defensive (and physically bulkier to help deal with crosses - see the first Perugia goal) fullback or a more defensive DM.
  11. That means you are narrow. It doesn't mean you are defensively solid or that you are compact. Like I said, I am worried about the space you leave in front of your central defenders.
  12. I know it's frustrating, but posting those screenshots don't help a lot. Is there a pattern as to how you're conceding? Do you notice that you are conceding a lot of space in an area that's getting exploited? Is there anything about what you've seen that shows issues? You have changed tactics a lot, so it is hard to keep track, but I am worried about the space in front of your central defenders.
  13. I have 2 keepers, one is 26 (I've been at the club for 4 seasons) and the other 19 (I bought him at 18) and neither of them has had any change to those tendencies. I don't know for a fact whether these attributes can or can't improve though. Doesn't look like it so far.
  14. What's the logic behind having your AM strata all on roam from position? It's definitely something you'll notice. In the past, I have had my AML on roaming in a 4231, 424 and 4123 DM wide from time to time, depending on how exactly I set up the other roles and duties.
  15. That's a fantastic post by Herne. If the primary tactic was that good, it was worth keeping, imo. Small tweaks to the tactic may have helped. It could also have been a specific player missing the same chances, so could be lacking the attributes to put away those chances, depending on the angle, which foot it falls to, etc. Can you post what the primary tactic looks like?
  16. Constantly changing tactics won't help as you'll always battle with tactical familiarity. During the season, I'd rather analyse what's going wrong and make smaller changes to the already familiar tactic.
  17. How old are the players you're referring to? Very young players can progress just from being involved in training. In general, players need first team minutes to help them push on, provided they still have room (PA) to improve. I wouldn't expect significant changes (this term you see when comparing attributes over a month) in general, but players do improve over time. I still get messages that my 26yo defender is doing well and improving - and it's something I can see if I look at his attribute development over the last 3 seasons.
  18. The formation is the players' starting positions and largely the defensive shape. Your shape in possession will be affected by the roles and duties you choose.
  19. Is this the first season? Are you trying to sub 5 players in 3 intervals?
  20. You have a good scorer, relatively speaking, but I cannot see where you're using him in that tactic. Your tactic looks to want to set the wide players free but they cannot finish well. I'd really re-think the plan. None of the others seem good at finishing chances, so it might be worth looking into a 2 striker tactic, with one a creator and one (the only one) a scorer.
  21. Tbh, it's almost the same thing. Do not rely on headers. They are poor quality chances and you can see that when checking the amount of xG they are. A decent (you can get slightly better) header is often around 0.08 xG which is what a very good long shot is.
  22. Start a thread if you want advice. Show what you're doing, share your thinking behind it and what the issues are. The more info you can provide, the better.
