  2. You can get laptops in that price bracket, but if you can save up a bit more then you can get a whole lot more for your money at the $900-$1000 price point. If you can't wait, look out for "Intel i3" or "AMD Ryzen 3" branding - laptops with the most budget CPUs in these ranges will do a lot better than the alternative Pentium, Celeron and Athlon options and should just about squeeze into this price point. As a left field option, if all you're doing is playing FM (and perhaps other games) and you can get your hands on one (they aren't currently available officially in Australia), the Steam Deck is worth considering. AU$600 is about what it costs for a basic one (from Valve that is), and it will perform at least as well as any laptop in that price range.
  3. For FM it will make a negligible, or perhaps no difference. If you have the option to upgrade your processor that would be a much better place to spend money. Edit: duh, of course you can't upgrade the processor on a laptop. Just save the money for a new laptop in the future.

  5. I reckon they're more likely to make it SAAS
  6. Just stopping by this thread to mention the Steam Deck. If you're looking at a laptop in the £3-500 bracket primarily to play FM, this is seriously worth looking at. The controls are slightly more awkward, but in exchange you get comparable performance to a price equivalent laptop and a form factor that allows you to play FM is so many more locations and situations. Playing full FM on the bus, plane sofa or in bed becomes very viable. I've just got back from a long international trip and this is now my preferred way to play FM.
  7. Haven't got around to trying that yet. I'm talking about via the Steam Workshop.
  8. The Steam Deck is fantastic for travel, especially as you can often plug it in on long flights these days. I haven't been able to load an alternative skin though.
  9. You need to get him on loan (and playing) at a top flight team. Some of the lower half Spanish teams will loan south americans I've found
  10. Bear in mind that cloud saves can take ages to upload, so don't shut down right away after a play session.
  11. When you offer a player out it sets the asking price. These offers are responding to that rather than the "offering out" terms which is why they are demanding you pay wages. Maybe you should consider accepting in any case, if it means a higher fee.
  12. One ploy is to have an excessively high min fee clause in their contract. Then if they ever complain you can say "you have a clause and I'll let you go if it's met" to avoid agreeing a lower price.
  13. To my mine there are a couple of issues. Firstly that Graphics haven't improved a great deal in the last decade, especially when you consider the change in hardware during that time. Secondly that the game doesn't seem to parallelise tasks very well to take advantage of modern processors. I'd love for a dev to jump in and tell me I'm wrong, but honestly I haven't seen the uplift you'd expect in performance from upgrading my hardware over the years. Both of these areas could be improved without seriously impacting the people still gaming on their old pentium laptop and IMO it's about time SI got around to doing it.
  14. I'm pretty sure it will be available for Steam Deck given that it's just a PC. The question is will a suitable skin be included or developed by a 3rd party
  15. But even so, the first implementation is never going to be perfect. I think if it's a choice between a not quite complete vision and further delay I'd rather see them rush something out this year to take advantage of the wave women's football is riding now and then they'll have a lot more feedback for improvements next year.
  16. Its the scout's opinion of the player's ability compared to your team. Always take star ratings with a grain of salt as they are often wrong. Personally I like to look at the player's current ability, suitability for the role I want and age and make my assessment from there.
  17. The issue really is that it's too easy for strikers to get 1 on 1 with the keeper in the first place. It's most likely done to balance that
  18. The fact is that dynamic potential already exists in the game. While absolute potential for each player is fixed, perceived potential will change throughout a player's career depending on age, performances, reputation etc. People should just try playing without looking in the editor every five minutes and they would find that the game already works just how they want.
  19. He might have bad hidden traits. Sell him and get someone who wants to be there
  20. Worth noting that this CPU is processing an awful lot less information than a Ryzen 5 3600. A bottleneck in memory bandwidth is more likely to negatively affect a faster processor. Not saying you're wrong, just this experience may not be applicable to this case.
  21. As I understand it more than 16gb makes little difference to FM, but I would expect (though this might need to be confirmed via testing) that running your memory in single channel mode will be causing a bottleneck and slowing down the game. Basically what is happening is that you're halving the speed with which data can be moved from memory to the CPU meaning that the CPU will sometimes be left waiting to be fed with more data. My advice for your situation would be to get another 16gb stick which matches the one you already have, if you can. That should give you the best bang for buck. As an alternative you might consider 2 8gb sticks of 3600mhz - I suggest this speed because it matches up with the clock speed of the Infinity Fabric in the CPU, though lower wouldn't be the end of the world by any means if the cost is a lot less. 32gb is probably overkill for FM and would be a bit of a mismatch for this CPU. Also it wouldn't be able to be used in a future upgrade because from the next generation CPUs will be on DDR5. Timings (that's the CL18 bit) probably are the last concern though if the price is the same choose lower.
