  1. I would be surprised if this isn't able to run FM25 pretty well. Unless you're flush I don't see a compelling reason to upgrade if it's just FM you want to play.
  2. I've seen Acer Nitro 5 laptops with a Ryzen 7 and RTX3070ti for around that price at a few retailers. Best value I've seen around that price point
  3. Despite the description of Xe graphics as being a "card", it is integrated graphics. The second one has a discrete GPU which will be much better able to deal with 3d scenes (like in FM) and may also help with your photo editing.
  4. Just had a look - the next step up has both the Ryzen and the 3050ti. I'm not sure it's worth it though. The processor is perfectly fine, the GPU will be more than sufficient for FM24. 8Gb of RAM is sufficient for FM24 but if you're multitasking then it might be a bottleneck. This is an ok price but for a year old laptop a £20 discount is disappointing. I'd suggest waiting for Black Friday when it will probably be cheaper.
  5. On the second hand market I would hope to pay £400 for a laptop with a 10th gen i5, a RTX 2060 and a 1080p 144Hz screen. Looking at Ebay, that is realistic yet hard to find as a lot of sellers seem to be excessively optimistic.. You might have better luck with Facebook marketplace or Craigslist. "refurbished" laptops are generally just second hand laptops that have been given a wipe, tested and put up for sale with a short warranty. The main benefit over buying directly from the previous owner really is the warranty, but you really are paying a premium for it. That might affect your ability to afford a reasonably spec'd laptop within your budget.
  6. The problem is that 11th gen Intel processors were not very efficient and when put under sustained load (for instance running a game like Football Manager) they tend to run hot. If your laptop is a thin and light (which these processors were intended for) then quite possibly the cooling solution isn't up to that situation. Undervolting might alleviate the problem a bit, but honestly unless you know what you're doing that is fraught with difficulty and risk so it's probably not worth it. Edit: how silly of me, I didn't think of the most obvious solution - changing the fan speed. Depending on your laptop there may be a utility within Windows to do this but likely it would need to be done within the bios. There's not much risk to this, but bear in mind making the fans go slower will cause the processor to thermal throttle earlier, reducing performance.
  7. No new laptop at that price point that I am aware of has sufficiently powerful graphics. You might want to look at the second hand market? You might find a gaming laptop with an i5 and a 2060 for that sort of money?
  8. This has a discrete GPU which will be a lot more capable than the iGPU on the other laptop. It's about the weakest dGPU you can get however so temper your expectations. The processing power is probably similar or slightly weaker than the i7, but the battery will drain faster. Overall I'd say it's a better option as it's more likely to be able to handle FM25. I would recommend looking into upgrading that RAM if you do go for this one.
  9. https://store.minisforum.uk/collections/amd-®-ryzen-®/products/minisforum-um590?variant=46148475289878 The 4800h version. The iGPU is superior to the GTX660 but worse than the 1060. It's quite old (hence the discount), but it kills the CPU requirement and should run this well on low graphical settings. Edit: Lol I take this back. I had another look at the benchmarking site and I was mistaken. The iGPU is worse than the 660. Probably this is still the best you're likely to find for this money and it would be fine for FM24, but it doesn't meet the specs you have there
  10. It certainly would. May be insufficient for FM25, or at least need some of the settings turned town. The amount of RAM is a particular concern so maybe check if it can be upgraded
  11. This isn't a bad laptop and I'm sure it would run FM24 just fine, but it's a couple of years old and that looks like the price it would have launched at. There are surely better options. If you don't mind installing Windows yourself you might try: https://www.sancta-domenica.hr/racunala-i-periferija/prijenosna-racunala/multimedia-laptopi/laptop-acer-aspire-5-nx-k80ex-002-15-r716-512.html
  12. This is slightly overkill for FM, but it's great value. I know it's a bit more than your budget, but I think most options you'd find for less than £1000 would be significantly inferior. https://www.box.co.uk/GA402RK-L8192W-Asus-Zephyrus-G14-AMD-Ryzen-7-16GB-RAM-1_4377543.html
  13. Hey Neil, both will run FM24 very well. Neither have a discrete GPU, but the onboard graphics of 12th and 13th gen Intel processors are much improved from past offerings. Without knowing the recommended specs for FM25 I can't say for sure if this will run it without problems, but my guess is that it will be fine with some of the graphical settings turned down. The more expensive one has a generation newer CPU, but I'm not sure the extra cost is justified with the extra performance you'd get. Personally I'd go for the 12th gen one which is £599
  14. Honestly, both of these are poor value. They are both several years old and it's quite possible that the integrated graphics will be insufficient for FM25. You can get a modern i5 tower from Dell for about £500 which would be a much better experience. I actually think though the best value for desktop prebuilt at the moment is in mini PCs like this one: https://store.minisforum.uk/collections/amd-®-ryzen-®/products/minisforum-um773-lite?variant=44187602714902
  15. The 3050 one is more than £50 better. I'd check if it can be upgraded to 16gb of RAM though as that may well be a requirement next year
  16. What about the Japan national team? It was all fake players for me. Is it meant to be included?
  17. This was an issue in FM23 too, but if you are trying to negotiate a future fee loan and lock in a sell on clause, the other club can just remove the clause from negotiations even if you red locked it.
  18. Will it be possible to assign a goalkeeping coach to train set pieces?
  19. Further to what Kevhamster said, often individual PC parts will have a longer warranty (the power supply for instance) so even if not covered by the retailer you might still be able to get a replacement later for a specific part if needed
  20. Um, pretty sure this isn't what happened...
  21. I'd guess the issue is that it's a feature in the game and there would be complaints (as we've seen) were it to be removed. It would also involve effort to do. Since FM25 is a new code base, probably they will tidy things like this up then.
  22. I reckon that you will be best served with a laptop with a U-series Ryzen which has Radeon 680m or 780m integrated graphics. I would be very surprised if these processors wouldn't be able to run FM25, albeit perhaps with some settings turned down. This will give you a good balance of cost, performance (all of the processors with this iGPU solution are pretty powerful), efficiency and form factor. You should also be able to play a range of other games too - though it's likely settings will need to be turned down for those that are more modern or demanding. I'd look out for laptops with the following processors: Ryzen 7 7840U Ryzen 7 7736U Ryzen 7 7735U Ryzen 7 6800U
  23. My guess is they're working out if it's too late to migrate FM25 to a new engine before making a statement.
