Anyone use the "Set Nickname" function?

I always use it to make some names easier to say.

Just signed someone today from some French team. I think his name is "Sofiane Ferlonghi" (or something similar). I "Brazilian-ised" it to "Sofi".

I do this at the beginning of a new season when my coach tells me what player in my youth players that have come up I should look out for.

For example, I have been told a youngster at Everton called David Rowe is good, so I set his niickname as good youngster David Rowe so I don't forget him.

I use it all the time. I edit names, and like Jimbo Also have little things like Name* or | Name | or Name^ to distinguish certain roles a player plays within the club

I can't use this feature as i will normally add a nickname to someone in a blind rage, and thenn forget about it. This will normally creep up on me when some "d!ck head" scores past me

I normally use nicknames for my scouts, to tell me which region they are currently scouting - helps when assigning them to scout a certain player abroad - means I don't have to go back to the scout screen, to find out which scout is currently in the country involved!

also use it mostly to re-name my U-18 youth players, who look like being "quite good", to remind me not to release them accidentally.

I'll do it if they have a stupid/long name and are from a country (e.g. Brazil) where it's acceptable to have just a single name.

I rename young players which are not enough special to remember all the time but I want to come back and see them later. I give names like AerialDefender0612, which means for me this guy has some potential to be next Sami Hyypiä and I should check him again on July 2012.

I also once once named the Brazilian forward from Shaktar(Ukrania) "I hate you" after he made a hat-trick against me in CL. They had 3 shots on goal vs my 14 shots and I lost 3-2

June and July seem so far away when it is cold and snowing here, so easy to confuse months of the summer at this part of the world.

I use it to mark out staff members who's contracts i don't want to renew. Boring isn't it?

Always use this for nicknaming my scouts so I know who to send on what assignments eg JPA17 JPP9

I call them by the places i've sent them too - like South America etc.

Weird I know, but it works for me
