You called it about halfway through the season and, fortunately, you didn't jinx it. Though I was worried when we dropped back to 2nd with about three games remaining. Kalle Kohonen was my #1 goalkeeper in 2023 but my backup this season behind Erik Krantz. Spoiler -- Andreas Uran was my back-up left-back behind Haakon Berge. Andreas was unhappy with his playing time but agreed to a squad status change from regular starter to squad player but, despite agreeing that, he continued to moan about his playing time including to the press. Spoiler -- I only signed Alexander Gergardsson as cover because we lost a couple of central midfielders towards the end of the August transfer window and I was worried about having insufficient cover. I'm getting the feeling that new pastures would (very realistically) be quite a draw. I wonder if my Chairperson Petter Bjerke still thinks going semi-professional was a good idea? Looking at what Bjarg, who won Norsk Tipping-ligaen Avdeling 3 (Tier 4) last season, did in PostNord-ligaen Avdeling 2 (Tier 3) this season, I'm confident Loddefjord can have a good season in Tier 3. Bjarg finished 6th - Pld 26, W12, D4, L10, F39, A38, GD+1, Pts=40 and they achieved that comfortable mid-table position with only five new signings. So, yes, I'm confident of a good season with Loddefjord and... Spoiler Alert 1: Spoiler All the Loddefjord squad, with the exception of my emergency back-up #4 goalkeeper, are on paid, part-time contracts at least until the end of the new 2025 season and seven players are contracted until the end of 2026, so none of them are going to just up and leave at the drop of a hat. We've also signed five new players already. And there's still about £1,000 per week left in our wage budget. But, and for me it's quite a BIG BUT, Loddefjord went semi-professional at the end of the first season, we now pay all our players except one, all of the backroom staff (well both of them) who joined after we turned semi-professional are being paid, but the Board refuse to pay me, they continue to offer me £0.00 per week to manage the football club at the highest level Loddefjord have ever played at in their history. Spoiler Alert 2: Spoiler Between you and me, I have been applying for jobs and, with the exception of Oppsal (11th in Tier 4) - who I applied for by mistake and declined the interview - I didn't make the shortlist for any of them and wasn't offered any interviews. There are currently no Job Vacancies so it looks like I'll definitely be starting the 2025 season as manager of Loddefjord on a non-contract basis.
