Little bit of progress on my statistical overview area:

I'll add a '?' but the theme is the same as elsewhere - a blue circle for 75th+ percentile and gold for 90th. The white circles are unfinished but they take you to either total stats for the season or per 90 stats across all of the metrics measured in game. You can then use the buttons at the bottom to further dissect. I had to make 50 graphics for that average rating chart, too!

Thoughts?

I am still on creating this sort of panel.

In two minds about dropping a download to this or not (extremely burnt out) few graphical I know could do with a fiddle.  But I don't think I will make anymore changes for a little while why I catch up with rest which makes me instantly not want to post it and read many post of things not working or or explaining how to install facepacks.  :lol: 

  • added a background selector
  • 12+ custom views build into different screens. (team, staff and scouting so far wanted) and the scouting screen has been modified so others can change the default view.
  • Dark themed with purple, blue and pink being the main colours used.
  • Reworked scouting cards
  • Overhaul of most pages.
  • Built around using tabs (home screen still selectors mostly)

The credit really goes to the people I have learnt from and people, people that have supported me I have asked to take things from I have done nothing special other than move everything around.

We all started somewhere! I'd suggest the first port of call for classes (as I saw your post in the other thread) is with attributes. You can select a each attribute and use a picture for it - so a rating of 13, for example, would be an orange and 14, a banana. Obviously, pointless, but an easy way of seeing what you can manipulate.

My stats area now looks like this:

@JustHowie
this panel has been bothering me for a long time. Did you add tabs to it just by inertia, or did you try to make that panel bigger and it didn't work for you either?

I think I've already looked through all the existing files, but I still didn't understand where the size of this popup was fixed. :D

I think I've already looked through all the existing files, but I still didn't understand where the size of this popup was fixed. :D

I think it's just the base tato I tried playing with it and couldn't manage much of anything,  It bothers me also (like trying to change the player pop up to be wider had no luck with this). (popped it below probably doesn't answer much for you though)

changed the graphic in graphics\boxes\popup\standard to try it's just looked cosmetically better than the rounded imo. I think I have only ever simmed a handful of matches.

hi mate can also release a version without hidden attributes. just the normal stats. hidden attributes spoil the game.

I like this. One of those sparsely filled panels so it fits on all resolutions. What does it look like when you’ve not scouted a player? Have you followed this theme into the contract panel too?

If the player is not scouted, some parts are just missing/unknown. Pros & Cons are not here, the best position/role is "unknown", and the rest of the info here as height or weight or contract is usually visible no matter if the player is or isn't scouted.

And yes, that would be nice to follow the same or similar path to the contract offer panel but I didn't have enough time to edit the contract panels. I only tried to edit 'player contract.xml' and 'player contract subpanel.xml' but I was not lucky to see some immediate changes. So it's still the same right now, I will need to find the right panels to edit.

This is awesome! I wanted to try and edit one of the transfer panels that was a bit bland when making an offer for a player but it wouldn't pull without a clear and reset it just stayed blank here is what it looked like when a reset worked, sadly think it's hard coded @GIMNand @snowofman also took a look and couldn't get it working

Having a play around with creating a kind of statistical rater. It's in it's very early stages right now but I've got this:

My first thoughts are that I change these to per/90 stats because the bars will get massive otherwise. Secondly, I will remove the actual explanations as it's intended to be an infographic that gives you that clue. I also may add progressive passes to possession and headers to defensive.

Just trying to gather some thoughts?

It'll get into whichever skin is ready in time, to be fair. I've managed to get the bars and the info pulled through now:

@_Ben_ this definitely looks amazing... best FM skin ever in my opinion... it's a shame that "OVERVIEW" to "HISTORY" can't be removed in favour of a complete custom layout

What do you mean? The drop down boxes at the top? They can be - I’ve just always hesitated because I haven’t quite got everything on there that can be accessed nor I have I quite edited every panel to get ‘back’ off the panel. Certainly something I can explore though although feels like a huge job just to remove the title bar or turn it to icons. Will let you know!

interesting... i always thought it was hard coded... tbf i think you have most of whats available in some form

I have been able to add the analysis panel into my own overview panel, like so, but have not been able to get the actual numbers to populate unless I use the standard drop downs (second image):

No. That's largely because it has to load the games to fill that and it's less likely that a player would have every league loaded. I am, however, tempted to get it on the analyst report panel, too.

For ‘true’ moneyball, there’d need to be some kind of cross over with financial impacts. That’s a minefield I have not mentioned or delved into but, theoretically, could be done using some kind of ‘inverse bar’ that adds more value to the bar the cheaper their asking price is! Not in my plans to actually build though…

You are full of some very creative ideas. 

I am just teaching myself one thing at a time, next is tabbed container and how i can adapt them into something slightly different, then I want to teach myself how to combine different stats and make percentages etc...

Also want to learn how to implement the bookmark style containers that load into the same container. (not explained myself very well tbh) :)

Tabs are fairly straight forward but do give you an insight into playing with classes - as that changes the look of them. 

You’re not really able to combine stats unless you work graphically and overlay them but, again, that’s a class thing. I’d start with attribute values and move from there.

Whilst I, personally, am not a fan of the ‘style’ you’ve built - it’s clear to see your learning journey as it’s one I took a year or so back. The sky is the limit!

I understood some of what you said , but alot of it was gibberish in my head as I don't yet understand it, but hopefully in time I will. Appreciate the feedback , I really am a beginner in comparison to a few on here.

This is incredible! I've been trying to wrap my head around how to get player stats from games for a while and everywhere i looked a dead end or just not the results I wanted

How much the match/stats loading affects opening the player profile/overview? I mean, if you open the match analysis (within the match or player analysis) it always has to load that specific match so I'm just interested if this process affects the player profile in some way.

The only 'last match' stats you can get at easily are goals, assists, position, minutes and scoreline. Everything else is hidden inside the match containers, probably because it takes up a lot of space.

It's not perfect but, actually, what it does do, is help the problem that @keysi asked about here...

it's glorious never the less! always wanted to get something like working all round and also have the general performance analyst panel (to stay populated for everyone) although saying that aloud it would just be a giant cheat code. Still going to have a look at what can be done here myself. Very very nice

My next little venture is into a way of graphically showing how a player passes. I read something in @GIMN's career thread and he'd exported it but I wanted to try it in-game.

Each pass type is overlaid on top of the previous so you can see the percentage of complete passes that are key and progressive. The middle picture suggests a player who is good with the ball - nearly a quarter of his passes are valuable with the light blue being those 'boring' passes that are neither key or progressive. In the bottom picture, you can see that he completes a high number of passes but is not very creative with it - in this case, he's my centre back. All of that is explained in the hint that sits next to it and, eventually, the four rows at the top will go - they're just there for testing at the moment!

I need to adjust the boundaries for the graphics - right now, it's very simple working off square numbers - which is why 66.43 and 70.62 are in the same banding.

Is this useful or just adding something for the sake of it?!

Two new (incomplete) graphics to share tonight with a nice little way of getting them to 'pop in.' It shifts the average rating to the right whilst it opens and then it moves back when the little panel is closed. Not something I want for every player to have visible, so I thought I'd add a button:

Next steps are a possession and keeping graphical metric and then actually changing the circles on pressure quality to the correct percentiles as they're random numbers right now - whilst I tested the process.

Tbh I used the flut skin titlebar but my own graphic as the boxes/custom/titlebar/paper as I couldn't get the alignment the way I wanted it, I need to get both of the titles further to the right.
