OlivierL
Caledonian Braves - Scotland - Intro - 4th tier - Cinch League 2 Database |Club info | Club Vision | Facilities |Finances |Youth intake 22 Intro http://allaboutfrogs.org/weird/general/frenchfrogs.html I didn't create this post for no reason.. I was doubting between Bragança , Berwick Rangers and my beloved Caley Braves... I had a great save with them on FM20 (youth only) but after 10 seasons (championship) i stopped. This is a club where they invite foreign(French) players to learn the local language and football.. Brave Calling(again)! Since FM20 they got a reputation boost and i only had to reload 50 times to get them.. they also improved their facilities because they had an upgrade in real life since 2019 . This is a team with an unique idea, an own APP, own fan voting system, own documentary , own academy with French students .. i love the concept! Spoiler Rules I had to holiday for one season and pick an unplayable team that got promoted in the lowest tier. This is a youth only save. I can't do any incoming transfers (loans etc) and only sign and improve our youth academy players. The aim is to win something in Scotland an Europa with youth only. Most of them will be French in this save. I'm also posting in the youth only challenge topic. A Senior team created from a football academy that trains French students and teaches them English.... Playing the youth challenge with a football academy team, is there a better choice? The Club Although Caledonian Braves was formed in 2019, the club itself existed formerly as Edusport Academy. Initially created as a private football academy, Edusport Academy was founded to provide young French footballers the opportunity to combine football with education in Scotland during one year. Created in 2011, the Edusport Academy successfully applied to join the pyramid via the South of Scotland League in 2014 and became the first club in the history of Scottish football to win promotion from the bottom of the pyramid when we won the League in 2017. We also made history in 2015 when we won the South of Scotland League Cup. As holders of the League Cup, the trophy was displayed in the National Football Museum at Hampden Park from 2015-2017 as having ‘documented contemporary football history’ as the trophy was won by a team full of French nationals. Promotion to the Lowland League along with our continued ambition meant that we had to take a look at our current model and in 2018, we launched OUR FOOTBALL CLUB. OFC was the name of the project aimed at separating the club from the academy and by doing so, creating a new club where an online community of fans took an active part in the running of the club. With over 800 fans from 30 different countries, a series of online votes gave birth to Caledonian Braves. A new club identity, with a new badge and a new home ground, Caledonian Braves were officially born when the SFA Professional Game Board ratified the name change on 20th June 2019. Edusport Academy continues to exist as the Academy of the Caledonian Braves FC. Fans who registered via the club app could decide on the future of the club with a small payment. So they chose the club name, colors, logo and name of the stadium. In the future a lot more might be possible. Owner Chris Ewing lives in Paris but is from Glasgow. He dreams of getting the club in the Scottish premier league by 2025. In 2020 Caley Braves released a documentary that chronicles the journey from the club’s inception in the South of Scotland League as Edusport Academy to its place in the Lowland League and rebrand last year as Caledonian Braves. 'Brave Calling' Spoiler Stadium Alliance Park - Capacity 500 ( 100 seats) - Basic Youth & Training facilities After years of ground sharing with Annan AFC, we moved to Alliance Park at the start of the 2019/2020 season. A collaboration with North Lanarkshire Leisure has seen us develop the former site of Bothwellhaugh Playing Fields, into our home ground and training centre. With a *capacity of 500(100 seated) Alliance Park has been developed to meet SFA club License requirements and allows us the opportunity to create and develop a presence within the local community of North Lanarkshire. The name Alliance Park was decided following an online vote, where our fans agreed that this name to be the most appropriate as our home. Alliance, not only drawing reference to the community nature of Caledonian Braves, though is also a nod to our French heritage and in particular the ‘Auld Alliance’ between France and Scotland. We also share Alliance Park with our own youth teams - Edusport Academy and several local boys clubs. Squad We start with 15 real players and 4 newgens from first intake. Jogo Bonito
Nice idea, and a very interesting story about the club concept. I am pleased all those re-loads managed to get you in charge of the club, and good luck with your project.
OlivierL
February 2023 After 3/4 of the season ( 4x 9 games) we are pressing for a playoff spot. Really really happy with this ! We only have 13/14 'ok' players. Soms stats :
OlivierL
Tactic and DNA attributes I try to create a specific style of playing , developing and staff signing. I want a team that presses high up the pitch and plays a high tempo football with four players up front to create chaos and a destroyer and a runner in the middle . In the first seasons i have to get the best out of my players and some of them won't be ready to press .. but i hope i can change this and influence the youth intakes and development . I'll calculate my squad and youth intakes by splitting DNA in three groups. DNA Technical, DNA Mental and DNA Physical. I have a plan to development the youth players for most of the DNA attributes (not everything is trainable) . I'll make a more detailed post in the future. OlivierL
Caledonian Braves - Scotland - Youth Intake - Class 2023 Preview Not a great intake but some of them have a good personality and determination, i need numbers so i'll use 7 or 8 of them next season. Average intake of 37.51 and Determination 9.31 . Brun 23A has the best PA , Chevalier 23E has the best Ca . Both of them lack personality and determination. OlivierL
Caledonian Braves - Scotland - Season 1 (2022/2023) Review - 4th tier - Cinch League 2 Squad| Youth Intake 23 | Transfers| Finances| Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2 League two: After getting into the playoffs, we played in the semi final against Forfar, they finished 3rd. Close but we deserved to go to the final . Stenhousemuir beated Dumbarton (number 9 form League one) but we won almost every game gainst them in the league. And we have.. nothing. Noé Brun 23A hit the crossbar in the last minute . He became the youngest goalscorer in league one . Scottish Cup: Lost against Celtic B in the third round. Scottish Challenge Cup: Lost in the third round against Kilmarnock. Reserves & U18 : No fixtures Key Players Duncan had a great season , he also got the player of the season award. Armstrong had a good season as our central midfielder . Academy graduate with most Appearances (This season) Rodriguez-Chatelin 22B played the most minutes this season becase i lacked central defenders. I'm not sure he will play much more in the future. Academy graduate promoted to the first team (Next season) Above players will be promoted , most of them will be on the bench but some of them have quality. Academy records Miscellaneous We had a great first season but if you are that close .. you want to get that promotion. We will try again next season, i have 8 or 9 youth players in the first team now and that should help. I was able to extend every squad player for two , three or four years. I have one player with a work permit issue. He is French and can play till 1/1/24 (half season) . I gave him a new contract but i know he won't get a work permit . I can't think of any, but I don't even have an under 18 team, I only got an offer of a B team in the second season and we've now been permanently £200k in the red in the 8 seasons since then! And no, they have never played any fixtures.

It is only a little bit better as the class 2024. a Fairly poor guy but again a lot of negatieve personalities. Average intake of 37,18 and Determination 8.56 . Grimaldi 25D is our 3 star CA player and Alexandre 25A is our player with highest PA. Edited December 9, 2021 by OlivierL

Seems like this is going well overall Yes he is , i know from FM20 , braves could get really promising French players after 7,8 years but they have improved facilities en reputation from the start now so i expected to get something already after a few seasons. It is going good and i need to keep pace in this save so i'm about to finish the 3th season tonight.

OlivierL
Bugs i'm having some issues with my U18 . From the start: couldn't place promoted youth (or senior) players back to my U18 . Never got any trainings report from my U18 and no friendlies arranged for them. Since season 4 i can't sign new U18 staff or renew the contract from my U18 staff. Reported all of this as a bug.. the last stuff is really bothering me , i hope this is fixed soon because it could be a game breaking bug for my scotland / youth only save if the U18 aren't a proper team with training and staff. DerbyJack
Hi @OlivierL, annoyingly I don't seem to have the same bug as of yet. I am a little behind you though but I've just tested and I can still place adverts, friendlies are getting arranged and I can move them between squads. The only difference I can see is that I've not yet opted to have a reserve team so I just have First Team and the U-18s. I hope they manage to find a fix for you dude. bit crippling for a youth only challenge indeed

OlivierL
Sad to post that i have to put this save on hold till i have a fix for my U18 problems: Reported as bug: Can't move players between first team or reserves to the U18 Can't add or renew staff after 4 seasons and can't delegate staff U18 Don't get training news of U18 and friendlies not arranged . And not a bug but a fact , U18 league have a 'closed' system so i'll never be able to play games with my U18 . If the three real bugs get fixed i could continue. Going to start a new adventure with a team that produces foreign regens (like Braves). I'll post about it in the youth only topic. Thank for reading and maybe this will get reopened soon.
