I haven't paid attention to Champion's League, but they must be losing because every season they hire another top star player to actually upgrade the team. Grbic has been a surprise...His attributes don't scream great Striker but obviously he has some talent. I remember the NY Cosmos team with Pele, Beckenbauer, Neeskens, Carlos Alberto etc. A few versions back, I always tried to schedule friendlies against them, I must try doing that again
Hootieleece
Regular Season: August 2022 The season start with some winnable games....Nantes and OGC Nice are according to Season Preview Mid-Table teams. Lorient and Montpelier are newly promoted. Bernard has a plan to take as many points as possible. He will play the starters in the first three games and the Backups at home vs. Lorient. First Let us remind ourselves of the Boards expectations Nothing to difficult but we will have to keep an I on our point total. The first game against Nantes away... The game was even and Clermont missed numerous corners and freekick headers over the goal. Nantes got just as many and finally went ahead on a freeKick Header in the 61rst.... and David Gomis scored after Clermont went into desperation mode. The Team went into the Montpelier match full of optimism.... The game was a squib of a spectacle... The OGC Nice match was Tough but winnable.... OGC Nice beat us repeatedly on the counterattack by muscling our players of the ball followed dribbling past everyone to score... We then again went into desperation mode and score 3 goals in 10 minutes and missed a chance to tie as time expired. In other news our Euro Cup group was drawn. It will be a tough group to get out of it. The home game against Lorient was eagerly awaited Bernard wanted to arrest the slide.... We were the better team and our lack of finishing was again on display... The Transfer Window Closed and these were the Biggest Deals... Hootieleece
Regular Season: September 2022 September was going to be a weird month. Only 5 matches with 3 of them being in the Euro Cup. Bernard was determined to do as well as possible in all the fixtures but there would be Squad Rotation. The International break came and went. The first match of the month was against Reims we were underdogs but only because we were on the road. The game was even in the first half but we had chances....Umas broke the stalemate and Jaby sealed the deal. Next up was a trip to Liverpool and Everton.... Everton was the better team but the boys played valiantly. Adrian Grbic came on as a late sub and scored giving us an important tie. The Rotation of the team to make sure the they were ready for the OL match backfired. OL pressed us from the beginning and exposed our defense. After the embarrassment against OL...We had a home match with Valencia another tough match. We played a half rotated squad and got a credible result. A week later we had another Euro Cup home Match versus a Turkish team. Since our trip to Big Brother's house was two days later. Bernard opted to play the Backups. It was a bore of a match...neither team was even close to the net with a shot. League Table and Team Stats Player of the Month Nael Jaby Nael Jaby has easily been the best player on the team these past two months. Hootieleece
Regular Season: October 2022 The month of October see six fixtures. Four in the League and two in the Euro Cup. All of them are important but the match against Everton at home is the most important if we are to advance in the Euro Cup. The month started with a trip to St. Etienne... It was a game in which we couldn't finish....and like many other teams they are now pressing us. We had a trip to table proppers Toulouse....Bernard told Adrian Grbic that he wasn't carrying his weight.... So he went out and scored to early goals that lead to our victory. The Trip to Turkey was all well and good Bernard played a rotated Team and it was a wild affair.... The biggest mention was Ukbo scoring after 28 appearances.... The all important match with Everton was next.... We were dominated Dominic Calvert-Lewin made us look like amateurs....It was embarrassing. but we got a a prize any way.... We still have European Football.... The last game of the month was against Amiens....even though they were in 2nd place. We though we had a chance.... League Table and Team Stats Player of the Month Brandon Baiye Brandon is a young Dutch Midfielder that has progressed from squad player to starter just like his partner Nael Jaby. For most of the past month with Jaby injured Baiye has taken over his duties. The DLP Support position is the key to the whole formation..... Hootieleece
World Cup Break: November-December 2022 Bernard had a plan for the World Cup Break. He had to get his team playing better like he knew they could. Teams had found a formula to negate TikiTaka's strengths. So He was going to tweak the system. Also he would install the new system during an extensive training period followed by Friendlies to get match conditioning up. The Away matches were invites by those teams and the second half of the schedule was scheduled by Bernard. The second Preseason would be capped with a Coupe de France Match on New Years Eve. The First Friendly opened December... It was a disappointment...we are continuing to just miss shots. Next up was a match with Athletic Bilbao. We started well and dominated the game....could have been more. In other News We Found out who we would be playing in Euro Cup II! We paid OM for poaching one of our Youth Players.... this is the new player a Centre back... and here is a look at our lost player He has made the OM 1rst Team. He would have been great as our AMC! And while were at it here is a preview of our Youth Intake... and we finished our Youth Training Facilities We had a game against Lecce... and another to end our Friendly Run... The Last match of December and our Midseason Break was a Coupe de France match away at FC Nantes. And Bernard won another award...for keeping Clermont in Ligue1! The Year ended in Nantes... We started off on the right foot...and scored two early goals...could have added a few more before half. 2nd half was a collection of mistakes that led to their late goal. but we are Celebrating the New Year! Squad Stats Player of the Break Axel Disasi Axel has finally settled into his spot in the back line and is now working well with our other Center Back Team Captain Cissokho. Hootieleece
Regular Season: January 2023 The return of meaningful games was important. The break went well and Bernard wanted the momentum to continue. There were seven matches this month. First up was a review of the Joker Transfer Window. The first match of January was against Nimes Olympique. The Team started slowly giving up two early goals, but came to control the game but just couldn't finish. On another night we would have won. A home match against FC Metz. The game started off like the previous finished. We were in control but had a hard time scoring. We finally broke them down and got 2 goals. The French Cup 10th Round was next and it was a trip to Montois. The Minnow put up a hard fight. But our superior quality pulled it out for us. The Trip to Marseilles was a tricky match...They were below us in the Table, but had the quality to beat us easily. Marseilles must be having Morale issues because other than Harry Wilson no one on their team played well. Irvin Cardona our biggest signing played his best game in our shirt. That brings us to a game we had no hope of winning PSG at Parc des Princes. We played well and that is reflected in only losing by two goals. @Jogo BonitoIn other news FC Lorient gets a new manager... The Home game against Reims was next... The team seemed to be still in shock of the defeat against PSG. Reims played well but again our finishing let us down. A home game against Bordeaux was the last of the Month....It was a winnable game. We scored early had more chances but just couldn't convert. We through away 2 points with a defensive mistake after the 80th minute. Hootieleece
Regular Season: February 2023 February would be busy and pivotal to our campaign. If we could continue to play well, It might give us a chance to reach European Football again. Other than the OGC Nice and OL matches ALL were winnable. The first match of the month was against Montpellier...Bernard took a chance and played the Backups after a hectic string of matches. They played magnificently and Montpellier fought hard. The next match was a tricky one against OGC Nice... We went out to an early lead but couldn't defend Set Pieces... haven't practiced them in several weeks and it shows. Four days later we hosted tableproppers EA Guingamp ! It was a tight affair...and a 71 minute Substitution of Ugbo for Grbic was a masterstroke because he scored the winner in a back and forth battle. Three days later we played Relegation Threatened FC Lorient. They fought hard and defended well but eventually Irvin Cardona scored a goal. He is beginning to play up to his potential. Our Euro Cup II match was against tough foe Beskitas. It was a match we dominated even though the scoreline doesn't reflect it. We missed at least six headers over the Crossbar. The game went to penalties and our "backup" penalty takers claimed the day with the help of our Goalie Krapikas. Three days after the exhausting match we played Reims with the backups. These Squad players proved their worth. A tricky but winnable match against Rennes awaited 3 days later. It was a real Jekyll & Hyde match. I think the exhaustion from the OT Thriller in Istanbul fueled our 2nd half mistakes. Three days later we travelled to Lyon.... The boys fought hard but it wasn't meant to be. League Table and Team Stats Player of the Month Driss Trichard Driss Trichard has played well over the last month. He has been with the Club since 2019. He is a capable player who steps up when needed. and this month he was needed due to an injury to Umas. Hootieleece
Regular Season: March 2023 and International Break March was a truncated month with only 5 matches due to the International Break. Four of those matches were in the League. All of the were tough as each was ahead of us in the table. That also gave us a chance if we were to aspire to European Football. The First match of the month was a trip to Cyprus. It was a match Clermont should be winning and because of the tough Ligue1 Schedule Bernard rotated the squad. It was pure domination even though the 2-0 scoreline makes it seem close. Three days later we travelled to Monaco for our first match of this pivotal time. The match was surprisingly close and we didn't get our share of luck. Three days later we hosted Lille... It was a seesaw affair but our wingers showed Grbic how to finish. In other News: We would play Brondby in the Euro Cup II Quarterfinals... Hosting AS St Etienne was a derby...in our minds at least! Another Good Showing. A week later was the return match with LOSC who would be looking for revenge... Total domination could and should have won by more. League Table and Team Stats Youth Intake Crap intake. signed suggested players no one worth watching. Player of the Month Titas Krapikas Titas Krapikas is our new #1 goalie. Hootieleece
Regular Season: April 2023 The International Break came at a good time for us to rest and recover and get ready for the busiest month ever. 9 matches in 28 days. Bernard would use his best team whenever possible but many matches would see a heavily rotated team. The second day of the saw us at home against relegation threatened Toulouse. We won a professional 3-1 Victory. Four days later saw us travel to Denmark. in another game that saw us dominate but be less than clinical finishing... Three days later we were in Lens... I blame the loss on Jet lag. four days later we hosted Brondby.... This match was back and forth a true gem for fans of the Beautiful game. We get Eintracht Frankfurt as our prize... They are managed by RAFA BENITEZ! Several days later we hosted Amiens... We played a good game and the outcome was never in doubt. Three days later Clermont travelled to Rennes.... It was just one of those days...we will probably regret not winning against 10 men. In other News, Olympique Marseilles replaces us as French Cup Champions. On the 23rd, We played Nimes Another back and forth battle, Neutrals loved it. luckily we came out ahead. Four Days later, we played Frankfurt in the 1rst leg of the Euro Cup II Semi-Finals. We played to the best of our ability...they just seemed to have all the answers, but on another day we could have won. The last day of the month see us travel to Lorraine and FC Metz The relegation threatened team battled hard but ultimately lost. Rene Khrin one of our backup midfielders claimed an honor... League Table and Team Stats The Team has really clicked since the World Cup break we are playing well and receiving our share of luck The Table is tight there are 10 points between 2nd and 9th. Also there is only 5 points between 4rth and 9th. Player of the Month Nael Jaby Nael is Clermont when he is on top of his game everything ticks like clockwork. Hootieleece
Regular Season: May 2023 Due to match congestion, May would be another busy month. With SEVEN MATCHES in just 19 Days. The month opened us with a match against AS Monaco...the team was tired and had to be rotated with because of the second leg of the Euro Cup II Semi-Final in two days. The boys fought hard but it wasn't meant to be. The second leg of the Semi-Final was held in Frankfurt. It was going to be a tricky match. The match was a Stalemate... In other News, the Galactic Empire does was it always does... Three days after the Frankfurt defeat, We hosted OM. It would be a tricky match. It was a back and forth match and We got the winner by upping the Mentality to Very Attacking the last 20 minutes. Next match would see the Stormtroopers of the Galactic Empire visit our temporary home in Chateauroux. Honestly, We played one of our best defensive games of the year, but it wasn't enough. Jaby did everything but score. The next game was in wine country... We were lucky to escape with a win but I'll take it. That also qualifies us for the Euro Cup. but there is a chance of more...Champion's League! For the Final Match of the Season. We were hosting FC Nantes with a chance to secure Champion's League Football. We were dominant but had to play our best. We secured our best ever finish... League Table and Team Stats The team out did themselves, scoring was more spread-out through the team, but Grbic's bad year 12 goals is hopefully a hiccup. 18 players scored a goal and 19 made an assist. Jogo Bonito
A terrific 3rd place for Bernard, well done indeed! You've really made a good future for the club now, with the financial benefits of next season and the public eye on you. As for the Assistant, personally I go for a high tactical rating (and man management secondly). He has some decent stats, but perhaps not for the position he holds. karanhsingh
Well done on making it to the CL! Yes that's a fairly moderate budget but next season you should make a lot of money by being in Europe. I guess you'll enter in the playoffs so first order of business will be to reach the group stage. I would definitely change the assistant manager at this point you should be able to get someone far better. You want better tactical knowledge if you take his advice on things like OIs. Hootieleece
Silly Season: June 2023 As the off season began Bernard started thinking about how he should go about improving the team. He couldn't spend on Star players really. So he thought about upgrading the staff and would use free transfers if possible. Due to our good showings in Europe and in Ligue1 we are moving up the rankings in Europe. We are 56th! Nael Jaby signed an extension is now our highest paid player. AS Monaco is board is really unhappy with recent results.... They hired Zidane....who spent two years without a club after Real Madrid sacked him in 2020. Leeds made a huge offer for our Captain.... Luckily he has no interest in leaving... Transfers Ante Palaversa He is brought in as the replacement for Rene Khrin. He will challenge Baiye for a starting spot. Ronael Pierre-Gabriel He is an upgrade on Phojo and has a great long throw that could be used as a weapon. William Bianda Bianda was brought in to replace Florient Ogier our long serving Vice-Captain on the back line. Erkan Eybil Angelo Fulgini Both Erkan and Angelo were brought in to replace Berthomier. Eybil was the original replacement but will join Clermont2. Angelo was released by Angers and his announcement was in the same group as Berthomiers. After looking at his profile Bernard decided to snap him up. Squad Report Management Report Thanks for Reading

Jogo Bonito
I love the signing of Pierre-Gabriel, he looked so good coming in to the ASSE first team but hasn't really kicked on as much as I expected him to yet. Hootieleece
Preseason: July 2023 Bernard was feeling good about the additions to the team. The Preseason schedule was a little light on quality opponents. Bernard decided that a trip to the Congo would be a great way to build up Team Cohesion even if the soccer would suffer because the opponents were little better than Pub Teams. The Preseason began with the team meeting and the yearly match against Clermont2. Clermont2 was really up for the challenge... We then played our last match in Austria since the affiliation was broken. Our Captain Cissokho put pen to paper that would end Transfer talk. Our new Vice-Captain as well... The trip to Congo was all set.... The trip was a glorified finishing practice but it was fun and maybe we gained a few fans... We returned home to play Stade Nyonnais.... It was a good performance.... We then traveled to Ukraine and took on Lviv.... Their play was spirited and we didn't respond well... I think we were overlooking them considering we had a match with Manchester United in the near future. After the match and our impressive showing.... The bookies thought we had a good chance of being midtable...SEVEN spots better than last years prediction! Team Status The team is putting in good performances. This is best lineup according to Assman. I am now tied for the longest tenure as manager in Ligue1....Thomas Tuchel left PSG for Athletico! So it is a bug then?

So where are you playing now and what's the capacity? I've never heard of this one before! Best of luck for the new season nevertheless
Hootieleece
I have been playing at a Stadium called Gaston-Petit in Chateauroux a city about an hour away the past two seasons. It has a capacity of 17,500. 7 hours ago, karanhsingh said: Oh god that's really weird. So where are you playing now and what's the capacity? I've never heard of this one before! Hootieleece
Regular Season: August 2023 August was going to see us finish our Preseason and slowly start our Regular Season. The first two games were winnable. the last game of the month was against PSG.... We started the month a little jaded and almost lost to Bourg-en_Bres team that came to play. PSG Preseason.... How are we suppose to compete... We followed up the close game with a blow out of an overmatched team.... We then finished the Preseason with a trip to Watford that ended 1-1. The season would start with me reaching a milestone as Clermont Manager.... The board reminded me of Expectations.... Manageable. AS St. Etienne no longer wants to be "Big Brother". not that we ever got any money from it. We are slowly building up a fanbase... We would be doing better if we played in Clermont! Another project to develop... Eventually I foresee him replacing Jaby. We opened the season travelling to Nice... and then came home to newly promoted Angers... Then we have to travel to the Death Star...I mean Parc des Princes. This is what is awaiting us... I played a 4-1-4-1 Wide to try and neutralize Pogba... didn't work! and then we got our Champion's League Group... If we come in 3rd I will be excited. Jogo Bonito
Another solid start there. I'll probably not bother travelling to PSG in future, I can save the costs and give them the points Shame about this whole stadium thing, you need to be home. B.W.G
Stadium issues is something I can sympathise with as it is really annoying at times, Solid start to the season, hope it can continue
Hootieleece
Regular Season: September 2023 September was going to be another easy month with only Five matches due to the International break. The Match everyone circled on their calendars was Real Madrid's Galactico's visiting Chateauroux. The month started off with a visit from "Big Brother" St. Etienne. The match was a stalemate they Mourinho'd us and we weren't clinical with our chances. We then travelled to the Bay of Biscay for a winnable game in Bordeaux. It was a tight affair with the backups playing...Disasi was subbed in and Scored a header in the closing minutes. We returned home for the Big Champions League match with Real Madrid... We were simply overmatched from the opening whistle. Several days later we hosted RC Lens... It was another game like the St. Etienne match in which we just can't score... We ended up with a lucky own goal to get the 3 points. We finished the month with a match in Coal Country...Lille. It was another match in which we were left scratching our heads as why we can't score. League Table and Team Stats Player of the Month Makthar Gueye A backup Striker and Right Winger has been getting some playing time due to injuries. He hasn't scored yet but it is reassuring that he is getting in good positions. Management Report Thanks for Reading!
Jogo Bonito
Still going well even if goals have been hard to come by recently. Still on track for a very respectable finish.
