But what's happening this season?! I will let September's results answer that one and we're now just two points behind the leaders 1 hour ago, deltablue said: That's a heck of a CL group! I think we're doing ok although at 0-2 against Barcelona, and down to 10 men, I was starting to agree with you!
Northernpilgrim
October wasn't so good but we ended the month in a Champions League spot and we look good for qualification in the Champions League group too
Northernpilgrim
A perfect November and we're just a point behind the leaders Our final Champions League game is at home to Barcelona. A draw will see us top the group, and we're through anyway
Northernpilgrim
December was a poor month though I can't believe we didn't get something from the Bournemouth game and Newcastle should have been beaten Likewise Palace We somehow end the month top, although only 2 points separate 1st and 6th, which is ridiculous at this stage of the season Progress in the Champions League, and top spot was secured with the draw against Barcelona
Northernpilgrim
We went through January unbeaten, the only dropped points were a draw with Liverpool and we end the month top of the Premier League, although others have games in hand There were no transfers in or out, so the squad remains as it was in August
Northernpilgrim
We started badly in February, but ended it in great form and after the defeat to Brighton, which saw us fall to 5th in the league, I announced I would be leaving City at the end of the season but we end the month second, with a game in hand on the leaders
Northernpilgrim
March wasn't as bad as it looks, as we played 30 min of normal time, plus extra time against United with 10 men, and only conceded late in extra time. We created loads against Wolves, but it was one of those days and we end March top of the league
Northernpilgrim
8 wins from 9 matches in an epic April but that aberration meant we blew the chance to seal the title at Craven Cottage, although we are realistically through to the Champions League Final
Northernpilgrim
We ended the season with a win securing the title and went on to lift the Champions League too

Northernpilgrim
Inter have come back again, and refused a further delay, so I've pulled out of the running for this one. If Juventus come back before Real and won't agree a delay, I'll be going to Turin

Northernpilgrim
Ahead of starting at Juve, here is my updated trophy cabinet and the trophies I've won are
Northernpilgrim
As you can see, Juventus' history over the last 20 years or so shows they were dominating Serie A, but have fallen away over the last few years. In many ways it feels like I've joined the Italian equivalent of Liverpool in about 1993, in that there are still a fair few players around who remember the glory days, but there are also big gaps in the squad to fill. It'll be a bit of a project to get them back to where they were, and it starts here
Northernpilgrim
Preseason went pretty well
Northernpilgrim
I managed to make three signings, the rest joined before me (mine are highlighted) Mathieu will initially be first choice left back. There were no left backs at the club when I arrived Maatsen will provide cover at left back, and hopefully keep Mathieu on his toes and finally, Clovis provides extra depth at centre back. We have an option to buy him for £10m and our squad looks like this. The one glaring lack of quality and depth is in goal. I hope I don't need my backup keeper too often! Northernpilgrim
The Champions League draw has been made. Could be better, definitely could be worse
Northernpilgrim
It's been a perfect start to the season, with three wins from three and that leaves us joint top of the table, with an identical goal difference and goals scored to Inter
Northernpilgrim
That perfect start continued until the last game in September. We were 2-0 down inside 10 minutes against RB Leipzig, and never looked like recovering So we now have the only 100 per cent record in Serie A But we have left ourselves a mountain to climb in the Champions League. With back-to-back games against Man Utd up next, I suspect we'll know our fate after those games
Nobby_McDonald
A bit of a barmy season. Well done with the trophies and good luck in Turin.
Northernpilgrim
October was horrible and has seen us lose top spot and we're very nearly out of the Champions League too, a trip to Old Trafford is next. Lose that and we're out unless Dinamo Zagreb beat RB Leipzig
Northernpilgrim
November wasn't good either but we remain second and crash out of the Champions League
Northernpilgrim
December was grim but how on EARTH did we lose to Genoa? The league table makes grim reading and we'll have to settle for continuing our European adventure in the Europa League

Northernpilgrim
Apart from the two legs against West Ham, February was also decent and we're back inside the top four

Northernpilgrim
March had only three games, and we really couldn't afford to lose to Inter which has left us clinging on to the top four
Northernpilgrim
April was one match from perfection and despite the Napoli defeat, we end the month top of the league, but having played more games than our rivals. We are definitely not favourites to win it
Northernpilgrim
We were in blistering form in May, but would it be enough to win the title? Amazingly, yes. We were confirmed Champions when we beat Genoa

All in all a successful season. Can't believe I was one game from the sack a few months ago!!

Northernpilgrim
Within days of the season ending, I've got an interview.
