Hello, and welcome to another Northernpilgrim career. As suggested by the title, this (whatever happens), will be my last FM19 career.

Career Aims

Simple. The career aim is to restore my enjoyment of FM19, hopefully enjoy a little bit of success along the way, and to make an interesting career for people to read.

My manager

I am managing as myself, but using the same profile I used for my previous career

and the adventure begins in League 2, at Bury

February brought an interview that I simply had to attend

760153040_Argyleinterview.thumb.PNG.b932b639fcea0154bef7702623fbd364.PNG

although following the interview at the start of the month, results nosedived

and we look anything but title contenders now, five points behind MK Dons, and down to third, only a point ahead of fourth placed Lincoln

March was better, and we probably would have beaten bottom side Macclesfield, if we hadn't had a player sent off after 6 minutes

96111669_Mar2019.thumb.PNG.8a7556b63a1569ce15a61639f0a1d400.PNG

and we end the month still third,. with it looking like a four way fight for the three promotion spots

We faced Port Vale at home on the final day, knowing that a win would secure promotion, anything less and we would be in the playoffs. We won, and it was more comfortable than the scoreline suggests, with us holding a 3-1 lead at half time, and their second goal coming after 88 minutes

so we end the season second, securing promotion to League 1

Having reached the last game of the season, and with my contract due to expire in June, I began to look for another job in case Bury didn't offer me a new deal, and this job became vacant, so I applied and got an interview

In between the interview and finding out whether I'd got the job, Bury offered me a new one year contract. I refused it as I wanted to wait to see what Ipswich said, and my patience was rewarded

Doing very nicely this time! :D

Shame you didn't hang around at Ipswich - surely you'd have done well after stomping League One.

I only had a year left on my contract,  and didn't want to risk being sacked if we struggled.

One match from perfection in the league in January, and an FA Cup defeat to Liverpool that was closer than the scoreline suggests

643463354_Jan2021.thumb.PNG.6ab2031558887cc39839f18a31b5bf1b.PNG

means that we're second in the table, and the five point gap to Blackburn in third is far more important than the four points by which we trail Norwich
