Northernpilgrim
Results weren't great in April either, and to take nothing from the Everton game, in which we held the lead three times, was devastating I'm just relieved we've already passed 40 points and secured safety

samboing
@Northernpilgrim that is shocking! Now I understand you didn’t hit the required target of points but what were u one off and 5th in the league? Bad going I say, you’d hope that the board would have said after an unbeaten August they would have given slightly more time! Good luck in your next job I look forward to seeing who that will be

Incredibly harsh sacking though. These ultimatum type situations are far too black and white. In the real world, Newcastle would be delighted to be in 5th. They were 4th in the Championship when I applied, but lost 4 out of 5 games under a caretaker and were 11th when they approached me. I'm hoping something good will come up soon, but it'll probably be tomorrow before I get anything as I'll be finishing for the night very soon. Northernpilgrim
I've deliberately waited around for the right opportunity, having refused a job offer at Blackburn, and turned down interviews at Hearts and a couple of other clubs. Northernpilgrim
I'm back I've taken over with the team in a decent position, with promotion the objective set by the board. With my contract only until the end of the season, it's very much the plan to get them up, then get out. This is the league table on my first day in the job With it being January, and the transfer window open, I'll post a transfer update and full squad with the next monthly review
Northernpilgrim
Not a fabulous start, and I wasn't in charge for the first game of January but we end the month in an automatic promotion spot I made one signing, paying Zaragoza £3m for this guy and this is the squad for the remainder of the season

Lenzar
Without wanting to be rude I'm surprised the Spanish giants are giving you interviews. But on the other hand I wasn't going to turn them down. I don't know about Swansea, although as I said when I took the job, it was my intention to move on this summer. That might still happen, but if not, then I'll stay with Swansea for now. I've applied for the Liverpool job (Jurgen Klopp got the Barcelona job), so that would be one I couldn't say no to if I was offered it.
