Unlucky with the Madrid job, not sure what else you have to do to get it!

Great work turning the season around

Probably it's not lose 7 league games in a season. They lost only 2 last season and still didn't win the league, losing out to Barcelona by 10 points

Nominally, we made two signings over the summer, but Clovis was here last season, and the transfer was a compulsory purchase as part of his loan deal

He has improved as a player over the last year though

and Aydin joins on loan as a right back

We lost our opening game of October, a Champions League home match against Toulouse (deservedly, we were awful), but responded by winning our other matches

729898823_Oct2034.thumb.PNG.50b59f29c52cb7c8b32e7c30473d095f.PNG

to leave us 5 points clear at the top of Serie A, with Atalanta our surprise nearest challengers

and we're second in our Champions League group, with Atletico Madrid next up in Turin. Win that and qualification is very much in our own hands

We remain unbeaten in the league at the end of November, but there were two sloppy points dropped, and a Champions League aberration

1628122941_Nov2034.thumb.PNG.7da986f6cd9eb7cdb46f2f8be2f38da3.PNG

which sees us end the month top of the Serie A table, still 5 points clear

and we're second in our Champions League group, with one game to go. Only a win over Toulouse in France will guarantee progress. Having lost to Toulouse and Atletico Madrid, if we were to draw with Toulouse, we would be eliminated if Atletico beat Leipzig

We had a perfect December, winning six out of six in the league, plus our final Champions League group game

1254606922_Dec2034.thumb.PNG.48a3dc69a1434002ed5be14b13607205.PNG

leaving us 11 points clear in Serie A, Atalanta still our nearest challengers

and finished top of our Champions League group too. Sadly, we've been rewarded with Real Madrid in the next round

Good luck with Dortmund!

I have to ask - you've had a much better run than in previous saves when you seemed to hit one piece of crap fortune after another!  Is there anything in particular you've done differently this time around?

Yes. Been better at picking the right club to join, and I've been reading the tactics forums. I'd never got a 4-2-3-1 to work until this save, but it is working now :)

November was pretty near perfect, as we won all 5 of our games, and conceded just 1 goal

Giving us a 6 point lead in the Bundesliga

and needing to beat Chelsea at home to win our Champions League group. We can go all out for the win, as we've qualified already, as have Chelsea. The other match in the group is a dead rubber, as Shakhtar are guaranteed third and a Europa League spot, and Panathinaikos will finish bottom.

Unbeaten in February, but it should have been even better, as we missed not one, but two penalties, in the draw with Sheff Utd

Good stuff so far.  Sounds like you have a similar record with penalties as my Middlesbrough team!

Up to this month it's not been too bad, but we've missed three in a row now, and it's getting costly

If your penalty takers are meant to be good at penalties, and miss 3 in a row, and my GK is..... well I have no idea how good he is meant to be because I haven't bothered to look, and he has scored 13 out of 19 this season and 14 out of 17 last season, then doesn't it stand to reason that whatever it is that determines the results of penalties, it's not the penalty taking attribute.:kriss:

Having read this, I'm going to put my keeper on penalties. Will try to do an update tomorrow night, but might not get there until Tuesday

Good luck. For what it's worth, I also set my GK's to take free-kicks, (not from wide), and he scored 7 this season and 7 last season. That tends to be a better return than outfield specialists too, (but be careful with that because you need to think about a multi-layered defence so you don't get hit from deep).
