Bedese
San Giovanni is getting a bit repetitive and grindy (is that a word?) now, so I figured I'd do something that I haven't done in a while, which is the original San Marino Challenge. I've holidayed a year to get San Marino Calcio up to Serie C, so we're going to take them over in 2018. It's not going to be Youth Only, because I haven't signed a player in about six months and I'm getting withdrawal symptoms The aim is still all about the San Marino National Team though, and so there'll be a heavy bias towards Sammarinese players, especially ones through our own Youth Academy. I'm terrible with updating and record checking, so anything you want me to post that I've forgotten about, just ask Oh, and because I can't quit, I'll also be adding a second manager to take charge of San Giovanni, which will be Youth Only (at the start, anyway). Because why not?

Bedese
As for the San Giovanni manager... I figured Sammarinese legend Andy Selva would be a good fit. The record goalscorer for the NT - with 8 - will be taking over at San Giovanni.
Bedese
Looks like Andy might have a bit of a job on his hands...
Bedese
Well, I see why we're predicted 19th. Our squad is tiny! We only have 14 players. One RB, one LB (both 19 and not very good), no LW and only one striker. Lots of work to be done in recruitment...
noikeee
I'm shocked at the teams you've chosen to manage, shocked! Maybe add a third manager with Roterham? Good luck!

Bedese
Transfers: We had a tiny squad without any real quality, no money to spend on new players, and not many decent free transfers willing to join us, which meant a quite one-dimensional transfer policy this summer... The loans have made quite a difference to the quality of our squad... It's not a great way to build a team, considering that they'll all be off again after a year, but it's a case of needs must. This gives us a year to consolidate in Serie C while building up a shortlist of players that we can sign next summer. Here's a few of the key signings: Virtus Francavilla went down and so we've nabbed two of their better players on loan as they want to leave. Albertini will be great for us, at either RW or RB. The other Virtus Francavilla player, he should be a rock for us at the back. I love a good targetman, and Scamacca is going to be an integral part of the team this year. He's 6'5 with good ability in the air and solid mental stats. I fancy him to bag 30 goals/assists this year.
Bedese
Here's our tactic, along with (what I think) is our strongest team: Gabriele Vangi is the only player who's actually ours in the starting lineup, so here he is The combo of size and speed is why we bought him in. Looking forward to seeing how he pairs with Scamacca.
Bedese
Preseason (and Serie C Cup) A decent preseason, and we're through in the Serie C Cup after two easy 3-1 wins - although they were against the two sides predicted bottom in our division this year, so expectations are tempered The aim is to avoid the relegation playoff spots - if we can do that, we're golden. Bedese
September: Not a bad month. We threw away a 3-0 lead to lose 5-4 to Latina (defending against a 4-3-3 is a nightmare), but we've finished strongly with a 6-2 win over Mestre. One new signing has come in, too, getting a 9.20 on his debut (against Mestre): He's a good age, and he's got the skills to be a very tidy playmaker for us. Bedese
A problem with a team made up of so many loanees: the young, inexperienced team are woeful at closing out games
Bedese
The Fano game aside, a very decent month. Sambenedesttese are top of the league so there's no shame in a loss to them, and we end up with two good wins to end the month. Might need to tighten up at the back, though
Bedese
New signing coming in on a free: We've been after him for a few months, but he's finally dropped his wage demands to a reasonable level.

Bedese
Another new option upfront on loan from Cesena: We've only had three strikers really performing (the 6'5 Scamacca, Gabriele Vengi and Antonio Negro on loan from Napoli) so Moncini comes in to add some competition upfront. Bedese
February and March: Not much consistency, and still woeful at the back, but... We're looking good for a playoff spot with just five games left! I have no idea how the playoffs work, but considering the aim was just to consolidate this year, it's going well - even if we don't actually own any of the players... Constantine
Don't make a mistake i made. In playoffs, if you're playing team who's above you on the table, you must win at all cost. If you draw, they're going to the next round as higher seed.

Bedese
A decent way to end the season, but that final day loss to Triestina sees us finish the year in 6th, meaning we're entering the Playoffs in the first round: We beat them 5-1 less than a month ago, so I'm confident. Bedese
It would have been nice to win, but realistically we were never going to make it through the 72 rounds of playoffs there seems to be in this division. We'll go again next year
Bedese
Here's how the squad did this year: I tipped Scamacca to get 30 goals and assists combined - he got 38, and he's already agreed to come back on loan next year

Bedese
For San Giovanni, it's 30 points more than last season, a respectable 5th place (that would have been a playoff place in the other division) and a Cup Quarter Final. Bedese
Transfers: The plan was to get less loans.
