Northernpilgrim
We had a pretty decent October, and were a little unlucky in Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool and arguably deserved something from the Cardiff game too but all in all I'm happy, as we're up to second, behind Middlesbrough
Northernpilgrim
We had a perfect November results wise, scoring a bucketload of goals, but conceding rather too many as well and that has seen us climb to the top of the table, on goal difference. At least if we finish level on points at the top, this is likely to see us crowned Champions
Northernpilgrim
December was a crazy month. We had six games, including a ridiculous spell of three games in three days. To say I'm pleased with five wins and a draw, including winning all three of the games in three days, is an understatement but remarkably, Middlesbrough had almost as good a month as us, so we haven't managed to pull clear at the top, although it does look like it will be us or Middlesbrough for the league title, as we sit 1 point ahead of Middlesbrough, and 14 clear of third placed Newcastle
Northernpilgrim
We were unbeaten in the league in January, but our FA Cup run ended in round 4 which leaves us top of the table, 2 points clear of Middlesbrough, 14 ahead of third placed Newcastle
Northernpilgrim
We had a poor February which has seen us lose top spot, but we're still on course for promotion, although I'm more than a little concerned that we're yet to win away from home in 2026
Northernpilgrim
As bad as February was, March was one draw away from perfect but we remain second, and the gap to third has come down to nine points
Northernpilgrim
Four wins out of five in April and we're promoted, knowing that a win in either of our last two games, both at home, will see us take the title
Northernpilgrim
We didn't win May's first game, but did win the second, but it was irrelevant as Middlesbrough were beaten ahead of our match with Millwall, meaning we were confirmed champions before a ball was kicked in May and Middlesbrough join us in the top flight, but Newcastle will be kicking themselves, as not only did they not get promoted, they didn't even get to the final
Northernpilgrim
The goalscoring charts made interesting reading, as we had three players in the chart, bagging 94 goals between them, yet none of them won the golden boot
Sysiphus
Nice read, congratulations on the promotion. Amazing strikeforce you have on your hands, should do well in the PL (if you decide to keep the job) with a strengthened defence.

Thanks Sysiphus It won't really be that I decide to stay, if an opportunity to join a club with realistic short term prospects of winning a trophy, I have to take it. I have Liam Keane, Glen McAuley and Karl Riley all signed up for next season, so they'll be trying to keep Leeds in the top flight, whether I'm there or not. I don't expect to be at Leeds too much longer anyway. If I don't leave this summer, I plan to do one season in the Premier League and move on. I feel like I've regained some of the momentum lost after my Rangers difficulties, and I don't want to get into a situation where I get relegated and have that on my CV. Suffice to say, if it's Leeds for the coming season, we're going to try and score our way to survival, not go the Tony Pulis route.

Northernpilgrim
And then, ahead of the start of the league season, this I'm listed as 3/10 favourite for the job, so will attend the interview and see what happens

Sysiphus
Great getting the Celtic job! Now back to following Sir Alex? Also, could you provide me with screenshots of Burke, Field and Harper? Northernpilgrim
A better month in October, and we're through to my first cup final as Celtic manager and up into the top 4 in the league. Not that this is an achievement in Scotland, it isn't. We need to be winning the title, so I still want to see improvement in our league form, and we need to stop dropping silly points
Northernpilgrim
November was an ok month, and I've added the first top trophy I need, the Scottish League Cup and we're up to third in the league, with St Mirren the surprise leaders
Northernpilgrim
December was a really busy month, and featured more away day pain and that leaves us third, but with very little chance of winning the title
Northernpilgrim
In the Champions League we finished third, which ordinarily would be a disappointment, but I need to win the Europa League, so it's an opportunity to do that in my first season at Celtic Park
Northernpilgrim
January would have been my first perfect month in quite a while, but for one crazy, crazy game that we came out on the wrong side of in a 14 goal epic which has probably ensured that the ribbons tied to the SPL trophy will be green, but not the shade of green I was hoping for, as the title looks to be heading to Edinburgh
Northernpilgrim
There was just one January signing, as I paid Leeds United £30m for Glen McAuley, and he's started repaying it already

Northernpilgrim
Three games in March, all away, and only one win was pretty disastrous and taking 1 point from 2 league games sees us fall to third, our title dreams surely over, when two wins, from games in which we had the lead in both, would have seen us top the table
Northernpilgrim
A perfect April and there is a three way title fight back on
Northernpilgrim
We were unbeaten in the league in May and somehow managed to end the league season with my first SPL title. It's still possible I could do the domestic treble, with the League and League Cup already secured, as we're facing Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final. Here is the final league table showing how much of a scrap it was

GryphonFlick
Great read so far, and a very solid start back in Scotland. Probably not as dominant as you'd like, but I'm sure it will get there in the next season or two.

Yes, I'd love to dominate Scotland from the start, but at the end of the day, I need 10 trophies from my time at Celtic, and I've got three in my first season, so I have to be happy with that. Given that we've got the best squad, I'm probably not going to overhaul it too much, I'll probably look for one or two signings per window maximum, and just look to keep us at the top and improving in Europe. Northernpilgrim
We've had a good, but not outstanding start to the season, as we have been knocked out of the League Cup already, but are unbeaten in the SPL after 5 matches, including an Old Firm derby draw at Ibrox to open the season and we're currently second in the league, but would have been top if we hadn't conceded a late goal to Dundee United. I'm pleased with the result though, because we went 1-0 down, led 2-1, had Zak Hubert sent off, then immediately made it 3-1. The league table looks like this after 5 matches

deltablue
I was just going to say Helme looks very good.
Northernpilgrim
Still unbeaten in the league at the end of September, but our Champions League campaign has begun with two defeats from tough matches but we are at least top of the league, having held our nearest challengers to a draw and we're bottom of a ridiculously difficult Champions League group, our task made harder by Bruges surprisingly holding Man Utd to a draw
Northernpilgrim
A 100pc win ratio in October, including a victory over Rangers made for a very pleasing month which left us 6 points clear at the top, albeit with others having games in hand and the Champions League table looks like this, with a trip to Bruges next up
Northernpilgrim
I'm glossing over the fact that we conceded 5 at home to Motherwell, but only because we won
Northernpilgrim
November was also perfect, including giving Manchester United an unexpected Champions League thrashing so we're now starting to move clear at the top of the SPL and in the slightly bizarre position of needing Man Utd to beat Bruges and hope we don't beat Inter, as we currently sit second in the group
Northernpilgrim
December didn't work out as expected. It was worse in the league, as our unbeaten record went, but we were sensational in the Champions League but by virtue of having played our game in hand, and Rangers having had an awful month, our lead is now 8 points and never mind finishing third in the Champions League group, we TOPPED IT!!
Northernpilgrim
January wasn't great as we ended the month with back-to-back away defeats, but we're still in the Scottish Cup and still top of the table, but only 3 points clear
Northernpilgrim
There were no signings in the January window, but Chamorro has returned from his loan spell, Kapino has been sold, and Chamorro is my first choice keeper. Kapino joins CSKA Moscow for £3.2m, which could rise to £4.3m
Northernpilgrim
Apart from a narrow first leg Champions League defeat to Sevilla, February was perfect, and we kept clean sheets in all four league games too which leaves us 9 points clear in the SPL, still in the Scottish Cup, and with a chance to make the Quarter Finals of the Champions League
