kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Championship 2039/40 March Exactly what we needed at this stage of the season and now promotion is sealed and we are just a single point away from the title. A second half winner from Hontanon beat off Cardiff then we chucked away a 2-0 lead against Birmingham to share the points. Against Everton we were 1-0 behind and a double sub turned the game with Hasle and Diego both coming off the bench to win us the game. A goal in each half sealed the points against Stockport and we made hard work beating Leicester but it was worth it, sealing a place in the Premier League. We ended the month with a great win at second place Derby leaving us on the brink of the title. A brilliant season and I have half an eye of the points record Reading set back in 2005/06 (106 points). It will take a 100% end to the season but records are there to be broken. kris0710
Top class, back where you belong. Having a season like this does almost make relegation worth it. Only two defeats in our final 40 league games is just incredible.
kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Championship 2039/40 April So annoyed that we failed in break Reading's huge points tally! We beat teams in 4th, 3rd, 6th and 7th this month only for a record breaking attempts to be ruined by 24th placed and already relegated Brentford. Anyhow we did manage to level the record set by Reading and also break the highest points tally since the save began which was held by Fulham for 102 points in 2024/25. We are the only two teams to break the 100 point barrier and with the 101 goals we broke the save record of West Brom who are the only other club to score 100 goals when they finished 4th in 2033/34. A long way shy of the league record set by Middlesbrough of 122 goals back in 1926/27. My mood has quickly changed to delight though as I look through the leagues and spot that in 24th place in League Two and about to drop into non league football is none other than Peterborough United. If Carlsberg did seasons..... Awards A great month for Gareth. Has now scored in 7 successive games, finishes the season with 27 league goals. A mention has to go to Rowe with 29 goals in all competitions but his fellow frontman Hasle managed 16 goals and wingers Woodward (18) and Hughes (18). January signing Hontanon struck a decent 6 too. kris0710
Wanting more youth academy prospects would just be greedy. I have had a couple of decent ones over the years. Adam Pauley - club record scorer, Korey Bray - clubs record sale, Gareth Rowe could break both of those records, Tyrone Goodyear moving to Liverpool for £4m, four of the 2037 academy are in the first team squad (Bernard, Burkett, Leggett and Garrity), 2038 lads Ellis is now with Liverpool and Piers McGinn is in the first team squad. Hahaha Peterborough! Great season Kris. Haha indeed. Off to the Skrill Premier with Millwall they go.

kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Championship 2039/40 End of Season Championship After a poor start we hot a great 24 match unbeaten run before going on to clinch the title by 22 points. FA Cup Beaten in the 3rd Round at home to PL side Fulham. Capital One Cup Made it to the 4th Round this year beating three League One clubs before losing to Manchester City. Finances Just the £10m in the bank after a fair bit of spending last season. Squad Expecting four players to leave this summer in defender Cotterell, midfielders Scally and Humphrey along with keeper Harding. Adrian Harding has already agreed a deal to join Norwich for a small fee. My man problem this summer could be hanging onto Gareth Rowe. He has asked to move to a bigger club and isn't keen on waiting. Incomings will be a new GK and AML for sure and I am looking to bolster the defence with a LB ad CB. kris0710
Fantastic for my keeper. Outstanding last season and has become an England regular at the expense of 137 capped Spencer Bell. kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2040/41 Pre Season Expectations Premier League: Stay clear of relegation FA Cup: Fifth Round Capital One Cup: Fourth Round Transfers In Just four newbies in this summer as it has been almost non existent on the sales front. Lennert Devos - Big money forward comes in from Real Madrid with a great record for their B team, scoring 49 times in 108 games after moving from Club Brugge. Serdar Cekirdek - Second choice goalkeeper comes in on loan from Spartak Moscow. Should push want away number 1 Ogbeide all the way. Adam McLeod - Back up left back is here on loan allowing me to loan out youngster Gerrity for much needed first team football. Nathan France - Exactly as McLeod, France joins as a squad players allowing a youngster to move on in an attempt to improve for the future. Transfers Outs Very little to say as only keeper Harding left for cash, just £55k to Norwich. First team squad member Chris Cotterell was released as he contract expired and then it has just been loanees moving to other clubs. The U-21 side does have midfielders Scally and Humphrey looking for a new club. Squad Results Another decent set of results although we have been hit with a torn calf muscle for experienced striker Carsten Hasle. Will now need Devos to hit the ground running. Capital One Cup A second round trip to League One Altrincham awaits. As staying in the PL is paramount this season I won't be too disappointed if we fail to progress. kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2040/41 August Well you like to start the season fast but that's just crazy. 5-0 up after just 16 minutes against West Ham thanks to a hatrick from Rowe and a brace from Hughes we had the game won. A goal a piece in the second half was enough to send us top. We followed up that win with a tight win at Sheffield United thanks to another Rowe strike. That win was just as pleasing as the West Ham one given United won the Europa League last year and boast a £20m striker in Sandro. Capital One Cup Never nice being in the end of a cup shock but this season the Premier League is our only concern. Played a very inexperienced back four, all players being 17 or under and rested my frontline of Woodward, Hughes, Rowe and Hontanon. Awards

kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2040/41 September A little disappointed with this months results. We started like a train again when hosting Leeds, 3-0 up after just 19 minutes but a dreadful second half saw the away side grab a point. We also had a goal disallowed in the final minute. We host Crystal Palace and played dreadful, it was really awful. We took the lead then needed a goal 19 minutes from time to get a single point. A trip to struggling Tottenham brought a brilliant defensive display that was topped off with a goal. The month ended with another difficult trip to Manchester City and we played well but the powerful frontline the have was just enough. Happy with that. A tough fixtures up next, leaders Chelsea then 7th and 8th placed Villa and Forest. Job Interviews Attended the interview. My chairman then proposes talks to stay at the Cambridge Stadium. Happy to stay with that agreed for the summer.
kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2040/41 October Fabulous month that kicked off with beating Chelsea and ending their 100% PL record this season. A very early goal from defender O'Neill set us up then we had to defend like warriors before winning a late penalty. Following the international break we lost a right back and centre back through injury so conceding twice against Forest wasn't a surprise. We managed to out score them in a cracking end to end match where my front four all scored. Another four goal haul came at Villa with three familiar players on the score sheet. Could not ask for a better return to the top flight. Awards Milestones Job Interviews Attended this one to. Again the club came wanted to discuss me staying and I asked for a training ground upgrade. That was rejected and then Arsenal went for Wycombe manager Steven Woolley who was Arsenal manager for the 2037/38 season before being sacked. kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2040/41 November Defensively and results wise a great month. That is now six wins on the bounce and three clean sheets in a row was very pleasing. A another tight win away from home at Arsenal means we have now conceded just twice in five PL away games. Last seasons Championship runners up Derby were no match for us as we breezed to three points. Yet again we grind out a 1-0 away win, fourth in six matches at Wycombe. With Rowe and Hughes out injured they were replaced by two players lacking fitness in Kraft and Hasle and it was the lattee that scored the only goal from the spot. A dream season. Job Interviews Didn't bother with this one, not at all interested and doubt I could squeeze anything out of the board.
kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2040/41 December Another good month sees us drop some points but pick up a vital win over Manchester United. We started with a disappointing showing at Stoke, bringing a first defeat since September. Yet another 1-0 win was achieved over Liverpool before we travelled to Huddersfield and had to settle for a point after taking a 20th minute lead. One more 1-0 came against Fulham with Perez scoring from the bench as Burkett had gone off with a torn hamstring. Manchester United were next up and it was sub Hasle who popped up with a brilliant header to win us the match in the dying seconds. The year came to an end with a dominant win over struggling WBA. After falling behind twice we levelled on both occasions within a minute before we showed skill in the area with four more goals to end the year on a high. Transfers Out 34 year old striker Carsten Hasle has agreed a deal to leave the club at the end of his contract. He will move on to Chinese side Guangzhou. This month has seen young left back Sean Garrity be released. After failing to turn up at training THREE times in three weeks and reacting badly to two warnings the decision was made to ditch him. kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2040/41 January An average start to the New Year but again we keep up our unbeaten run. Started the month with tough trips to Southampton and West Ham that saw both games end level. Needed a late goal against Saints before we gave away a lead at West Ham. Gareth Rowe was on hand to head in the only goal at Leeds and it was a case of one goal was enough to beat Sheff Utd with youngster McGinn scoring his first PL goal. Another game where we only managed one goal ended January with a point against Spurs. Overall I think we got about the points we deserved that month. In a great position and our title hopes will be tested in February with Man City and Chelsea both to play. FA Cup Intended to play a weakened side at Sheff Utd but the draw was made beforehand and seeing a 4th Round trip to Skrill Premier Bashley there was a strong chance of making the 5th Round. So I played nine that started the previous league game, just bringing in two young full backs. The game went to plan and away at Bashley in the 4th Round I again played a strong side and we breezed through. A home tie with Championship side Blackpool awaits. Transfers In Needed a new full back due to the termination of Adam McLeod's loan so opted for West Ham defender Mark Dalziel to join until the summer. Upfront we have lost Rowe for a month and the season has hardly started for £14m man Devos due to injury so out of favour Manchester United forward Shane Howe joins on loan. Transfers Out The only players leaving this month were the three loanees Cekirdek back to S. Moscow, McLeod back to Leeds and returning to Fulham was centre back France. Young keeper Glen Barrett and midfielder Piers McGinn had loan spells cut short and will join the first team squad along with the two new loanees. kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2040/41 February A tough month has seen our title hopes ended and a battle for a Champions League place is really on. Got a good draw at home to ten men Man City set us up nicely but a poor showing at bottom club Crystal Palace was a huge blow. We travelled to Chelsea and lost for only the third time this season, the winner coming just four minutes from time. February came to an end with us losing our lead against Villa. We have struggled to score over the last two months which is a huge concern. Still a fabulous season but we face a battle with Man Utd for the final CL slot. FA Cup Eased past the Championship side to set up a trip to PL 2nd placed Southampton. A tough tie for a place in the Semi Final.

kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2040/41 March Just the month we needed after two sloppy sets of results. A nice win over struggling Derby was followed up by beating Nottm Forest in a second half comeback. It was a game of penalties next up against Arsenal and after taking an early lead through a Rowe penalty we conceded two ourselves to give the London side the victory. Bounced back well against Wycombe to keep our Champions League dream alive. FA Cup We were dire. Really poor but I suppose I would rather have this kind of performance in a cup match. Youth Candidates Another disappointing batch. Colin Holmes - A beast, 6ft 3 at just 15 years old. Jonathan Carpenter - Land of the Giants, 6ft 7 at 16 years old. kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2040/41 April A hugely disappointing month kicked off with us losing a 4-1 lead over Stoke to settle for a point in a 5-5 thriller. Next up was defeat at Liverpool who won the match with just three minutes to go. Our only win of the month came over Huddersfield and my awesome front two struck a goal each. Well beaten, well hammered, at Manchester United sends us into the final three games looking over our shoulder. West Ham could be the club that ruins our season. Job Interview Thanks but no thanks. kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2040/41 May Two wins from the first two was all we needed. One game to play and in 4th place. Can still finish 2nd or 3rd and either of those would put us into the CL Group Stage and not need the final qualifying round. There is also an extra £2.6m in prize money up for grabs. I would rule out finishing 2nd as Chelsea host bottom club Crystal Palace. But in a great twist to the end of the season we host 3rd placed Southampton. What a huge game for both clubs and the winners get a great prize at the end. The Final Day Chelsea duly won against Crystal Palace, 3-0. Cambridge vs Southampton We've done it. Next season will see Cambridge United into the Champions League Group Stage. kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2041/42 Pre Season Expectations Premier League: Achieve respectable position Champions League: Reach Group Stage FA Cup: Quarter Final Capital One Cup: Fourth Round Transfers In Rafa - Happy with this purchase for a player that cam cover attacking positions. Will start the season as back up to Hughes. Ashley Baverstock - Another that will start as back up but this left back has the potential to be a first team regular. Had a good season in PL with Wycmobe last year. Charly Jean - Loanee from PSG, Jean has 19 goals in 20 games for the PSG 1st and 2nd teams. Khairul Yattabary - Another loanee, from Chelsea this time. Spent the last three seasons in the Championship or in Scotland with Rangers. Simon Hope - The West Brom man struck 11 goals in the PL last year as WBA were relegated. Took advantage of his release fee to bring here and expect it to be £7m well spent. Transfers Outs A quiet summer, happy will all the exits and even happier that my big players are still here. kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2041/42 August Two good home wins to kick off the new season. We started with a single goal win over Spurs then welcomed Champions Manchester City and gave them a beating. So much so it was their biggest defeat since April 2032. The month ended with a poor display against Huddersfield to ruin our 100% start. Champions League Group Stage Our group rivals: Inter - Reached the CL semi in 2035, since then it has been two QF and two 1st Knockout Round. Reached the EL semi in 2038. Schalke - Knocked out of the group stage in four of their last seven CL. Did reach the semi final in 2037. Won the Europa League twice in 2018 and 2023. Ajax - Knocked out on the group stage of the last 12 times they have qualified. Won the Europa League twice in 2025 and 2038. Capital One Cup A tough draw, would expect to play a 2nd string in the tie.
kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2041/42 September Three tight wins in September has kept up our good start in the league. A brace from winger Hughes saw off Fulham before we saw off lowly MK Dons thanks to striker Hontanon. Our month ended with a win over Southampton who were unbeaten at this point. The scorers from the first two games in target here too. Champions League What a thriller of a first CL match. Our goal lead was turned around by the break but a strong second half showing won us the match thanks to a winner from sub Rafa in the 90th minute. A trip to Ajax is up next. A nice bonus. Capital One Cup A mainly second string failed to win at Anfield but i have more important things to concentrate on this season. Awards Excellent stuff. Job Interview Turned down the interview. England Well deserved. One cap, one goal. Go on Gareth.
kris0710
Cambridge United Football Club Premier League 2041/42 October Another good month sees us pick up 7 points from 9. Starting off with a win over Sheff Utd with two goals from England new boy Rowe. Dropped a two goal lead against West Ham to have to settle for a point but bounced back brilliantly against Leeds thanks to a Rowe hatrick. Champions League Four good away points in Holland and Germany has put us in a great position at the half way stage. New Contract At last! A massive wage increase has been a long time coming.
